  1. Do Celebrity suites include complimentary laundry?
  2. Your PUPs , your points for the cruise you were currently on, or the points for the first of a B2B? Did you get a higher level mid-cruise when you received these points?
  3. If you get the points to reach the next loyalty level during a cruise, can you access the higher level benefits while on that cruise, or do you have to wait until that cruise is over and you sail on another one?
  4. Is Holland America's Orange Night a deck party? When during a cruise could I expect that night? I'm booked on a 22 day San Diego to Vancouver via Hawaii cruise and want to buy something orange that would be weather appropriate.
  5. I'm looking at this part, "Cancellation fees also will apply to changes to departure date; substitutions of itinerary substitution of another person for original booked passenger(s); and changes to a promotional fare." But even if the Revision section applies instead, why are some passengers charged fees and others are not?
  6. Good for you! But now I'm really confused. Do you or your TA have special status with Viking? Or am I reading Viking's Terms and Conditions wrong?
  7. We will be in Cabo San Lucas on the Koningsdam April 7 from 11 AM to 11 PM and in Mazatlan on April 9 from 7 AM to 5 PM. We're wondering what to do in those two ports. We don't especially want to take a group tour, except possibly a walking tour. Rather, we might like to go somewhere pleasant where we can listen to Mexican music and have a drink and/or local food. If not, then we're open to other ideas. Would anyone like to give us some suggestions?
  8. I am happy to hear that you have been able to make changes to your cruises without fees. That may not be possible any more, according to VIKING BOOKING AND SALE TERMS AND CONDITIONS https://docs.vikingcruises.com/pdf/2-230626_BookingAndSaleTermsAndConditions.pdf Under Cancellation Policy: "Cancellation fees also will apply to changes to departure date; substitutions of itinerary; substitution of another person for original booked passenger(s)"
  9. Several years ago, when I changed one Viking River cruise for a different one, I had to pay a change fee.
  10. Your cruise must be less than 35 days? I was hoping to book a long cruise. https://docs.vikingcruises.com/pdf/2-230626_BookingAndSaleTermsAndConditions.pdf Cancellation Fee Schedule Effective for Cruise Tours (other than Grand & World Cruise Voyage) booked on or after August 1, 2018: Written Notice received Days Prior to Departure Date Cancellation fee Per Passenger 120 or more $100.00 119 to 90 20% of Full Fare 89 to 70 35% of Full Fare 69 to 50 50% of Full Fare 49 to 30 75% of Full Fare 29 or fewer 100% of Full Fare B. Cancellation Fee Schedule Effective for Cruise Tours more than 35 days (Grand and World Cruise Voyages) booked on or after August 1, 2018: Written Notice received Days Prior to Departure Date Cancellation fee Per Passenger 180 or more $1,000.00 179 to 150 20% of Full Fare 149 to 120 40% of Full Fare 119 to 90 60% of Full Fare 89 to 60 80% of Full Fare 59 or fewer 100% of Full Fare
  11. Thank you everyone for your posts. The way I understand the answers is that there is no way to avoid a penalty if you book and then have to cancel a Viking Ocean cruise. If anyone wants to sail Viking, they have to wait until the last minute to book, in which case they will probably pay way more for the cruise; or be willing to risk loosing $1,000 or more in case they have to cancel; or buy insurance. Am I understanding correctly?
  12. They are not free. They cost time and sometimes aggravation.
  13. I agree with you. I have been to "A Perfect Day at Coco Cay" on RCCL. It seems to me that the new President of Celebrity is trying to make Celebrity more like RCCL. I don't know that Royal Caribbean Group needs two lines that appeal to the same demographic.
  14. I watched it and actually learned something. We've been looking for sailings from Port Canaveral (We live nearby). I'm happy to hear that Celebrity is soon going to sail from Port Canaveral. DH and I will be on one of their cruises. And as a bonus, we earned 50 PUP each 🙂
  15. It's a 21-25 day package, but the cruise is only 22 days. I just took the total price and divided by 22. Maybe I'll have to stow away for 3 days to get my money's worth 🤣
  16. 22 days for the Premier Internet Package for my upcoming cruise, $291.99. I don't know the number of days for the daily rate I found for the Surf Package here: https://www.hollandamerica.com/en/us/onboard-packages/cruise-ship-wifi
  17. Is the price on the ship likely to be less than $29.99 per person per day? For my 22 day cruise, the Premier one device Internet package costs $291.91 per person/ $13.27 per day. Is the Surf Internet Package likely to be less than that on board?
  18. Has anyone made a claim on a tripinsurancestore policy? Did they pay? Do they sell policies that cover pre-existing conditions? At our age, anything could be considered a pre-existing condition ☹️
  19. Our upcoming cruise in April on the Koningsdam will be our second HAL cruise, our first longest (22 day) HAL cruise, and our first time sailing in a HAL Neptune suite. I have two newbie questions: 1. I can't find the Surf Internet Package for pre-cruise purchase online, only the Premier Internet Packages. We don't need the Premier, but the $29.99 per person per day price I found for the Surf Package purchased onboard is much more expensive. Can I expect to see the Surf Internet Package for sale at a more reasonable price? 2. Is the "no-host mini-bar" in the Neptune Suite complementary?
  20. That is only relevant if you didn't enjoy the cruise. If you did enjoy the cruise and it was worth $8,400 to you, then the points are just a free bonus.
  21. According to HAL's website, https://www.hollandamerica.com/en/us/legal-privacy/cruise-contract , "VOYAGES 25 NIGHTS OR LONGER, PLUS GRAND WORLD, GRAND VOYAGES, ANY SEGMENT OF A GRAND WORLD OR GRAND VOYAGE: Cancellations through 120 days commencing travel: 100% refund" Viking's cancellation policy for voyages 35 days or more https://docs.vikingcruises.com/pdf/2-230626_BookingAndSaleTermsAndConditions.pdf is Written Notice received 180 or more Days Prior to Departure Cancellation fee Per Passenger $1,000.00 I read Viking's cancellation policy as saying that the cancellation fee of $1,000 per passenger applies from the day of booking through 180 days prior to sailing. Whereas HAL gives a 100% refund from the day of booking through 120 days prior to sailing
  22. If Viking raises prices so much between when the cruise becomes available and "when cancellations kick in" (I'm guessing that's just before final payment date?) then it would be worth risking $1,000 to save 65% on an expensive cruise. Unfortunately we are at the age where we shouldn't buy green bananas.
