Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Right, makes sense. Friend and I discussed at the time and I guess this time we just didn't feel the need with this particular trip and the relaxing/ no excursions trip that we plan for it to be. I usually do get the insurance. Her MIL's health was discussed and I just figured if the OBC did transfer to me, I'd reimburse her since I would be spending money on the ship either way. I appreciate everyone's responses though.
  2. Interesting! I didn't know you could do that. Thanks!
  3. I would disagree when the room was basically free ($100 per person) and trip insurance was just under $200. Booked last week and trip is in 3 weeks. It's would have been a wash for her. $100 lost if she would have gotten insurance and gone. $100 lost if she ends up having to cancel last minute. Then also $100 lost for me on the travel insurance. 🙂
  4. Agree. And that's sort of what I figured. I was mostly wondering because I was potentially going to offer to "pay" her for the $250 if I did get it to help her recoup the initial fare she would be forfeiting. We booked very cheap with my promotion, inside the 90 days til cruising window, so it really wasn't worth the cost of travel insurance.
  5. That's sort of what I figured. Thank you!
  6. Anyone know how 'per room' onboard credit works if one of the two people end up no showing? Booked cruise with $500 per room onboard credit. Friend's mother in law is not doing well and my friend may end up last minute not going on the cruise. I'm finding contradictory information on Carnival's website. One answer makes it seem like the OBC is per room, no matter how many people and the other answer implies it's per guest 1 and two. So if my friend ends up not going last minute and I go solo will I get all $500 or will I only get $250? Anyone know or experience this before. Cruise is out of Miami next month. Credit comes from a casino promotion on my VIFP number. Thanks!
  7. My mom and I just did this May 2023. It was amazing. The speed limit is low and at no point did we feel unsafe. There are some massive drop off points but they have very large pull over areas and rails so you can very safely pull over, get out, and take pictures. The drive was one of our favorite "excursions" we did. The views are amazing. There are several videos on youtube of people doing the drive. Watch them and your mind will be at ease. Have fun!
  8. Thank you! I don't have Facebook but appreciate you sharing!
  9. My mom and I (Girls Trip) bought a day pass to Hilton - British Colonial Hilton Nassau through ResortForaDay.com a couple of years ago. It was great! The grounds and beach were nice as was the food/ drinks! Quick cab ride from the port. You could walk but it is packed along the route and tons of vendors trying to get you to come into their place and shop. I believe we paid $70 per person but it came with a $40 per person voucher to use for food/ drinks. I would do it again.
