Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. From the p & o website, it now says ' Plus, if you’re travelling on a fly-cruise, you could pack your best tailored shorts, as these will be allowed in certain venues around the ship.' so for the Azura in the Canary Islands you can wear shorts, but for the Canary Islands cruise departing from Southampton you can't? Make it make sense.
  2. She skips from A509 to A511 so logic would suggest they are planning an A510 repositioning just not available yet
  3. Please don't come at me, I have read this entire thread and worried we have picked the wrong cruise line for our first cruise. Husband wears shorts all the time and I'm really worried that he will overheat in jeans on our canary island cruise. We will be respecting the formal rules with regards to dining and drinks. Will we be stopped for wearing shorts in the outside areas (Iona prom deck) after 6pm? Are the hot tubs and pools open after this time? Surely they can't expect us to put jeans on after being in the hot tub?
  4. The Terms and conditions mention 'Drinks Package Menu Icons' so I think we will see a release of new menus soon with icons that make it easy to tell what is included.
  5. From the p and o website 'If your offer is not accepted, you will be informed approximately 6 days before sailing.' Also 'We will endeavour to tell guests at least 7 days prior to departure if they have been successful, however in exceptional circumstances we reserve the right to upgrade guests up until 1 day prior to departure.' So I guess they also allow bidding for upgrades for suites incase someone cancels completely and a room becomes available. Once you put your bid in you could be waiting several weeks/months for an answer as there might not be any availability when you bid but p and o could wait until the week before to decline just incase a room becomes available if someone cancels during that time.
  6. They are allowing you to bid on cabins that aren't available as they are hoping that passengers in those cabins will also bid for higher and so those cabins will become available. E.g there are no balconies available but they allow inside to bid for a balcony and hope that a balcony will bid for a suite, that way everyone gets upgraded and they are left with an empty inside which is supposedly easier to sell than the empty suite they had. The sale of the inside plus the two upgrade premiums may also be more than the suite they were trying to sell, so they are in profit and everyone thinks they got a good deal
  7. Hey guys, going on our first cruise in October. I'm just a bit confused about the on-board account. I know that my credit card will get daily charges/pre auth, can anyone confirm that I will only get charged for the amount of that day? Some how I've got it in my head that I will get charged the total bill every day so the pre auths would be way higher than the final bill. E.g if I spent £100 each day, I would be pre authed £100 on day 1, £200 on day 2, £300 on day 3 etc and surely that can't be right? I will be cruising on P&O UK this time but would love to know if there are any lines that do it differently so posted here for an overall view Thanks
