Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Yeah just got off on Sunday and although the nightly entertainment options were a bit scarce, there was always something to do. The after parties at Bliss were lame but the parties at Deck 15 were pretty nice. Went to the Comedy club once and the comedian was pretty funny. The room was a bit small for 3 people (my wife is a 5 ft tiny lady and even her had problems sleeping on that curved sofa). We had a balcony which was way bigger than expected and the views it provided were freaking great (I won't ever sail in a non balcony cabin again). Staff is pretty friendly and overall the organization embarking and disembarking was way better than I expected it would be. Food was ok (Mexican food options at Garden were the worst by far on the week) and most dining locations were not that crowded and even without a reservation I was able to sample Taste and Manhattan (they were fine and Manhattan was better). The wait at Taste was pretty manageable but Manhattan was slowwww. Garden Cafe was always crowded but it was very manageable. Food was ok at best (my son ate lots of pizza and told me it was edible but not great). Im not a heavy drinker but my wife had some alcohol Piña Colada that she said we're the worst she's ever had, but she later asked for a virgin PC and she claimed it was delicious so 🤷🏽‍♂️. My family and I had a blast and would do it all over again.
  2. I printed mine this morning. I can assure you that the cabin number was there.
  3. Thanks for this. We are sailing on Sunday on the Epic with a 14 yr old and I was considering this so this review was posted at the best time possible.
  4. Wait... No 24 hour pizza? How would I gain the expected 10 lbs on the Epic on couple of weeks? 😭
  5. Yeah, I went again to the site and I couldn't find where to select an exact cabin. I could only select the type of cabin but never a specific one. Maybe if you called them directly that is an option but using the website I just can't see it.
  6. Yeah, I'll give it a try tomorrow to see if I have better luck. If not, I'll just get my wife some Dramamine or something strong for the dizziness.😄
  7. Why would I have to pay $500 additional when I will get the exact same cabin just in another part of the ship? (Not trying to be a ***** it's just a legitimate question ☹️). I assumed that as long as I didn't get a different cabin category it shouldn't be a problem if it was available. Now, if I wanted to book a bigger cabin I can understand the upgrade price. I'll just try again tomorrow to see if I can get a different answer.
  8. I did not have a guaranteed cabin. I just booked through the website and got assigned a random balcony cabin (never got a chance to actually select anything). That's why I was wondering if I could make a lateral move if there are cabins available (I can go into the website and it still says that there are some balcony cabins that can be booked).
  9. So Im sailing on Feb 5 out of San Juan and was assigned a forward balcony cabin. Problem is that my wife is pretty prone to seasickness and I was wondering if I would be able to make a lateral move to a similar cabin but more towards the middle of the ship. I called a week ago and they wanted me to re-book my cruise to change my stateroom for $500 extra. Of course I said no but I was wondering if it's possible at all to make the move. I don't want an upgrade, I just want a cabin towards the middle that can help with my wife's enjoyment of the trip. Thanks in advance for any help.
  10. We have to go early because we will be leaving the cars at a private parking for the week and we can't afford for the parking to be full before we get there. But it looks like the afternoon is a very feasible idea to minimize the waiting time.
  11. Hopefully in 3 weeks everything is better. Im not looking forward at driving 2.5 hours to wait ANOTHER 2.5 hours in a line just to board the ship.
