  1. Where did you see this? Heading out on the Bliss next week and have a few zoom meetings to attend if possible.
  2. We filled out the special needs form ahead of time for GF (both my son and I had been GF for years - my mother had celiac and it seemed likely that my son had it too) and without fail before every meal, the wait staff knew to ask. We ate primarily in the Haven, with le bistro and teppanyaki as our specialty dining. The menus seemed well-labeled and it seemed like it would’ve been pretty easy to get GF food. I’d say that I am more savvy than the non-celiac dx person because my mom had it all my life and we were fully GF at home (she would get really sick so she was very cautious). However, I had just gotten my testing back saying that celiac was unlikely, and we had decided to put my son back on gluten to get him tested, so we didn’t actually end up GF on the ship.
  3. My 9yo son would wear a slightly nicer shirt (think Target golf/polo shirt) and shorts and it never seemed to be an issue, either in the Haven restaurant or Teppanyaki (the only specialty dining he did).
  4. We used it as an opportunity to get the 14yo off her devices, so we relied on “we are meeting at this time for dinner” or “if you want to go to the show, meet us in the room”. She wears a watch and is generally pretty responsible. She liked having the freedom and she said she really liked disconnecting from her devices (i know - weird kid). The Wi-Fi was just glitchy enough that I think it would have been more frustrating than helpful to use the messaging.
  5. When we were on the Escape in April, my kids could order whatever drinks they wanted at the Haven restaurant, and it seemed like if you weren’t ordering alcohol, the Haven bartenders didn’t swipe cards, so they generally got sodas there too.
  6. When I go into the NCL app on my iPhone, and then go to Dining, there's a specialty dining option, and I can click on my kids names to get 2 meals for them without adding them to me and my husband. I didn't go all the way through checkout though (we are using our 2 specialty dinings for date night - the kids can fend for themselves).
