  1. I love spell check & Siri, both make writing and texting hysterical some times
  2. @xLibLabLady @The-Inside-Cabin Thank you both for that information. I hope none of this deters cruisers from the 2025 cruise. The inaugural cruise we all new would be interesting but no one knew in what way. Well now you know what it is like blazing new trails, something different around each turn.
  3. That's a very good question. Believe me HAL didn't just find out this information on a Sunday afternoon.
  4. I'm definitely not happy to hear about another Tender Port!! Also No Shuttles in Kodiak, I hope town is within walking distance. I hope tendering does not affect private excursions already booked.
  5. Looks like HAL needs smaller plates because the entrees and desserts look so small & lost on these plates. Also not thrilled with the presentation but as long as it tastes good that is all that counts.
  6. @The-Inside-Cabin thank you for that photo tip. I have plenty of those small people big object pictures. 🤣🤣🤣
  7. @The-Inside-Cabin Thank you for your comments on tipping I really do appreciate it. This is normally a topic people don't like to address and yet good service should be rewarded with a good tip. Thanks for helping me out.
  8. @RetiredMustang Dave, Thank you for your honest opinion regarding tipping. I really appreciate it. I just want to be prepared with enough cash especially if the tour is a real good one. Even if it's not great I would tip because this is their livelihood. Also sorry transportation wasn't better for you to be able to enjoy Dutch Harbor but the pictures you got are beautiful.
  9. I have a question about gratuities for your tour guides. How do people normally tip for a good excursion? A percentage of total cost of the excursion? A set dollars amount? What if there are multiple people to help on your tour, is there a general tip jar? Of what I hear most of these tours are great so tipping for me is a given. Since we haven’t been on a cruise since 2012 and I cannot remember how we figured tips then i would like some guidance so I do not under tip. Lastly do you tip more for a smaller size excursion 6-12 cruisers vs larger HAL tours of 100 or more? Thanks

  11. Thank you so much for this Live Post. I am enjoying all the information you are providing, what an education! We too have only sailed to Alaska once before in 2012 for 7 days on Princess one way from Whittier to Vancouver. So this cruise in 2025 will be quite different for us.
  12. @TableGirl Your excursion sounds great, So glad you have had great weather on this cruise so far, May the wind and sea keep your sailings sunny & smooth!!! Was this the Columbia Glacier Cruise provided by HAL and run by Stan Stephens Tours? I sure hope so because I have booked that tour.
  13. I am on the 2025 version of your cruise and yes I will keep watching until sailing time to see if they offer anything for Homer. In the meanwhile I will have a back up plan including Some of @Seasick Sailor suggestions.
