  1. West on QM2. You gain time plus get to experience the NYC sail in early in the AM. Seeing the Statue of Liberty is a special experience. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  2. This article in the Washington Post describes a potential cruise in the future that would require social distancing and maybe masks. I would never go on such a cruise. It's either a normal cruise or none at all for me. Is there anyone out there who WOULD go on a socially distance cruise? Wear a mask on a cruise - nope. They can sail without me if those are the rules. The whole point of cruising - for me anyway - is normal socializing. Anything less would be a waste of time and money. https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/travel/a-longtime-cruise-reviewer-answers-the-question-what-will-it-take-for-you-to-cruise-again/2020/05/28/144283be-9f54-11ea-9590-1858a893bd59_story.html Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  3. No one will go on a socially distanced cruise. Her article is silly. Either normal cruises or none at all. Who would go on a cruise like she describes? Anyone? I started a new thread for this topic. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  4. Fleming's San Diego is open for dine in! I have reservations for next Tuesday. Bought a gift card online to get a $20 bonus card. Here is where I got the $36 a pound tomahawk in San Diego. https://www.bestmeatssandiego.com Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  5. I won't be shocked if it cancels. My only risk now is a $100 FCC deposit. I probably won't pay the final pay unless Hawaii sends the all clear signal. Lots can change in next 5 months. For better or worse. I am hoping for better!!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  6. How do you prepare your lamb chops? I have never done them at home. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  7. Thanks for the tip on Fleming's. I will have to pay them a visit!! The Tomahawk steak was $36 a pound in San Diego. Any idea what Costco charges? Has to be way less TOMAHAWK TUESDAY Join us every Tuesday for a 3-course meal for two featuring our 35 oz Prime Tomahawk*, two salads, two sides and two desserts | $135 https://www.flemingssteakhouse.com/promotions/tomahawk-tuesday Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  8. I may have to join Costco. I probably could have saved some money. Agree- Reverse sear is the best. More here https://www.seriouseats.com/2017/03/how-to-reverse-sear-best-way-to-cook-steak.html I also get good results with Sous Vide on smaller filets. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  9. You can't. You have to have your TA or PCC do it for you. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  10. It's in the freezer waiting for right opportunity to share!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  11. I am a sucker for the giant Tomahawk "Presidents Cut" style steak. I couldn't resist buying this today at my local butcher shop. I know they don't serve this in the Pinnacle grill any longer, but that is where I had my first taste of this monster cut. Not sure how well I will be able to create the "home version" of the Pinnacle Grill, but I am going to give it a shot. I have the cook books!!!! Any other ideas for creating the "home version" of cruising? I am looking for "day of the week" door mats. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  12. We have a deposit on a Nov cruise to Hawaii from San Diego. Another on a Singapore to Tokyo Cruise next January. More booked next summer. Then the 2022 world cruise. Can't wait to get started again. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  13. We are also on this cruise. Great ship Great Itinerary!!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
  14. We booked the Koningsdam for the 18 day San Diego to Hawaii RT on 3 November. I am confident we will sail with normal loading and traditional distancing. Your Mexico cruise in Dec should be fine. If not? Then I will book the next one We are ready to go. If they cancel. No big deal. It's not like I am using my rent money to go on cruises. 15. My guess is they will cnx the 2021 world cruise and run the current 2021 itinerary in 2022. I am pretty optimistic but I think any cruise over 14 days will be considered high risk for a while. I suspect they will run more round trip "bubble" cruises in 2021 rather than long point to points. Probably nothing longer than 14 days. They need to think how they can better firewall their ships if there is another flare up. Might even restrict sailings to citizens of the departure port for a while. That way it would be harder for FLL to refuse entry if ship is 100pct US citizens. Or med cruises are nothing but EU citizens. Already hearing that Australia and NZ are building a travel bubble.
