Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. They do store at least some credit card info. I have never been asked if it should be stored but have not had to enter info again when I was adding excursions to my cruise. Possibly the PCC stored it. I do use a cc not attached to my primary bank. I have a separate bank account I use to pay the card.
  2. What I have discovered is that it's like pulling teeth to get information about the land portion of a cruise tour other than what is in the brochure. I was able to check in at 21 days before the start of the entire trip (land portion first) but haven't received my edocs. I called NCL and after a supervisor couldn't release the docs, I was told they aren't released until 21 days before the actual sail date. No hotel information, no info about the additional excursions available during land portion until 2 weeks before the tour actually starts. I know they contract it out but think there should be better communications. I was able to find out the name of the first hotel in Fairbanks by doing a little research and contacting the company doing the land portion. I will be arriving a day early so that info was very helpful so I don't need to change hotels. I was really looking forward to cruising with NCL but this and problems contacting my PCC costing me several hundred dollars, leads me to not wanting to deal with them again.
  3. It is an independent tour. Alaska Guide Tours The tour is 2 hours. They pickup and return to ship. which adds another 30 minutes to total time of excursion. The guides do the paddling. $200 including transport.
  4. That looks like a good tour. Thank you for the info. My canoe tour starts at 11 for 2-3 hours so I would not be able to do that tour.
  5. @mapleleaves I had an RV trip to Alaska scheduled for 2020 but of course that was cancelled. I still hope to do that sometime. This trip will at least give me a good start on visiting Alaska. It is a cruise tour, starting in Fairbanks then Denali, Talkeetna, Kenai peninsula including Homer and Homer Spit before boarding the cruise ship in Seward. I love RVing to the point where several years ago, I sold the house and have enjoyed living in the motorhome.
  6. @mapleleaves Thank you for the links. I should have thought of that because it is usually the first place i go when traveling in my RV. I have been wanting to drive to Alaska for the summer but decided at my age and health a cruise tour is the best way to go right now.
  7. Thank you @ebay33. I'll plan on doing a walking tour.
  8. Thank you. I've done some internet searches but have not checked TripAdvisor
  9. I will be on the Spirit June 14-21, 2023 as part of the Southbound Authentic Alaska cruise tour. In Valdez, our first stop, I will be going on Glacier and Icebergs canoe tour. I would like to also tour the town and area but there is a time conflict with the NCL excursion tour. Can anyone recommend a tour or best way to see the area? I return from the canoe tour at 1pm and ship departs at 7pm.
