  1. Can anyone tell me the square footage on this "accessible" cabin? Is the balcony the same size as the other PG cabins? I believe there is no extra wardrobe area in this unit. I have a small scooter and have not ever needed this type of unit before. Hoping for some positive comments on this room! Thanks.

  2. Seeing as I told them I do not really need an accessible cabin (since my tiny scooter fits thru all the cabin doors), why not an upgrade if ship is overbooked? At any rate, I am sure I will be thrilled with the PG as well as any such QG upgrade. Thanks everyone for your comments.

  3. Thanks for all your comments. As I still love QM2, I relented and booked an accessible Princess Grill cabin ( one of two) for a small fortune. I hope it is worth the price! They were also firm on NO upgrades for handicapped passengers. anybody have pictures of the INSIDE of these cabins??

  4. I have traveled several times on the QM2 with my scooter which fits fine thru the cabin entrance and is unobstrusive in the room. I walk with 2 canes but can not walk the length of the ship, so I need the scooter to get to certain venues. Other than that, I do not need an accessible cabin (which essentially has a wheelchair shower which I dont need.)

I was shocked to learn that ANY scooter must have a handicapped room. So when I tried to book a cruise which is a year from now, I was only offerred 2 cabin selections I was interested in. How disappointing that Cunard is severely limiting the number of ambulatory challenged people a place on their ship. As I am retiring soon I was hoping for several future cruises, but will probably have to plan a different line.

  5. Thanks. I will call Cunard before I book, as I have sailed on the QM2 several times in a balcony room with my scooter which fit easily thru the door and uses a standard charger cord. I'll report the width of the scooter and hopefully that will suffice!

  6. Dear PMB1, Thank you for all that information!! It is extremely helpful. Im hoping to save up enough for a Princess Grill accomodation. I will probably need to bring my scooter as the ship is difficult to navigate. I have been on the QM2 years ago. (I hope Cunard does not now insist that I take a handicapped room as my scooter fit just fine inside the cabins I have had in the past.)

  7. can anybody help me find a copy of the daily program for the July 2014 short cruise to Halifax from NYC, if there is one? I am planning the July 30, 2015 cruise to Canada for 5 days and it will probably be a similar program.

How is the 6 hr tour to Peggys cove?:)

  8. I am planning the July 30 2015 trip to Canada on QM2, possible Princess Grill. Can you pick your table at the grill restaurant or just assigned one? Can you have afternoon tea in the Queens grill lounge area? Can you get advanced tickets to the Planetarium shows? Can you get wine delivered to your cabin by room service? Thanks!

  9. I would like to book the Reidel workshop before my cruise, but they do not specify the date or time in advance. So how do you know if this will conflict with plans/excursions you have already made?? Is it generally on a certain day or what? Or can you easily book this once you are onboard? Confused.

  10. I contactd colin jennings for a 4 hr tour in June for 2 adults. He quoted me 50.00 per hour. Does that sound like what others are charged? I thought the rate was 40.00 per hour for 1-2 persons or is this reasonable?? Any thoughts before I commit? Thanks!

  11. Barb! OMG thats my room come June 10. The pictures are fabulous. Did you find the Butler accomodating and pleasant? What is mounted in the shower on the green tile? Is it a shelf or seat of some sort? Did you notice much ship movement? I usually opt for midship, but wanted this room badly ( mostly because of Sandi's posts). Thanks. Julie

  12. The book is quite huge and has selected recipes from various venues onboard, i.e, some recipes from Blu, Bistro 5, Murano, Qzine, martini bar, etc. Beautiful full page color photos of foods. General descriptions of food preparation, staff members, what vineyards their wine offerrings are from, etc. Good general overview of the Celebrity line and their cusine. Lovely coffee table type book, but quite pricey.

  13. If the taxi is around $40.00 per hour, does that mean that if you stop for restroom or lunch break you you are paying $40.00 for the taxi while you are eating lunch? If so, can you bring along something to eat in the taxi?

  14. I may want a bloody mary at breakfast as noted on the room service menu in my suite. Will this be covered by the Premium beverage package if served by the Butler ? Or is everything on the premium package covered ONLY for all alcohalic drinks outside of room service? Do I have to get one at the bar and bring it to my room? I'm also trying to decide if its worth paying for the premium package.

  15. Sorry if this question has been previouslyaddressed. Regarding ordering wine at dinner with premium package.. So if you can not order a BOTTLE of wine with dinner, can you order several DIFFERENT glasses of wine(under $12) one after another, thruout your meal, even in the Normandie?

OR, if you and tablemate order several glasses of the SAME wine at dinner, wouldnt it make sense to just give you the whole darn bottle rather than doling it out piecemeal? Thanks
