  1. Here is a shot of Sapphire port side cabin E404 which I flipped horizontally so it apears to have the view of E405 which is in the same location on the starboard side. The view to the right or astern will be blocked by the shed just aft of this cabin.

I just wanted to see one of 405 so I could see the angle from the door. I saw that one of 404 already.
  2. Welcome back "Robtulipe"

I have permission to take as many pictures as I want but under the same conditions as you, on disembark day.

Can you wait with sending the pictures until next week otherwise I spending all my internet time on downloading pictures.

    Thanks,

    Theo

Have a great cruise. Can you take another picture of E405.

    Thanks!

  3. As far as I know they are under the window if they are set up as a queen. We always get them set up as 2 twins that way they are against the wall and give us a bit more room in the middle.

    Theo

Thanks! I was hoping they were set up like the Emerald where they are just like they are in the balcony cabins.

  4. Can someone tell me how the beds are set up on the sapphire. Are they under the window?

Also is the bed set up different on the Emerald deck versus the Plaza deck for those of you who have stayed on both decks.

Lastly we had a cabin on the Plaza deck on the Island princess that was midship and heard a knocking sound the entire cruise. Is it louder on Plaza on the sapphire too?

  5. Theo, I don't have any pictures to add as we stayed in April in E416 on the Sapphire and you have that picture. I just wanted to say this is realy a great thread. Often times, those obstructed view cabins are at a great price so this will be helpful for many. I have to say, our E416 cabin was just like having a full oceanview cabin.

    Thanks for the great thread.

    Chloedmom,

Just wondering if you were bothered by noise or the fact that it seems the elevators are right there. In the hallway what was across from your room? Also what is the set up for the bed? Is it so your head is under the window? We have a choice between E416 & E405. DH was afraid E416 was to close the the elevators & would be noiser & you would hear the ding for the elevators. Opinions needed. Thanks!

I'd also like to thank Theo for doing this thread! Great job for all of us who love those cabins.

  6. I think some may have mis-read my post. I will NOT be on Golden for any 2011 or Spring 2012 Hawaii cruises. My ship assignment has been changed. I will be doing limited Hawaii cruises on Sapphire, only through mid-March 2012.

    Dave,

So does that mean YES or NO to being on the March 10th Sapphire cruise?

    Thanks!

  7. Hello everyone - Dave Cole here. I will not be on Golden for the current Hawaii season, or as far as I know - at any time in 2012. I was originally scheduled to return to Golden this coming week (Nov. 23rd), but that has changed. I have been assigned to Sapphire Princess, and will be joining Nov. 26th thru March 2012. Thanks for all your kind words, I have had an amazing time on Golden over the past several years, and I will miss it a great deal.

David, Will you still be on the Sapphire for the March 10th Hawaii cruise? We have loved sailing to Hawaii with you on the. Golden!

  8. We have been in E415 on the Emerald and have booked it again on the Ruby for Jan. It has virtually no obstructions. We found the stairway/ landing rarely used by maintenance crew(maybe twice during our 7 days). Lots of daylight, excellent view, and the price was sure right. In addition, it's midship, close to the elevators. We think it's an excellent choice!

    -Ann

Just wondering if you had more noise from the hallway as it was so close to the elevators & the opening doorway leading to the elavators?
  9. I met a couple on a cruise who were enjoying F & F discount. They said that they always have a blue card. It didn't seem to be a big secret and they cruise often. Airline employees and their families fly free, space available. What's wrong with cruise line employees enjoying a break? I'd love to be a friend of an employee of Princess.
Lucky friends & family members. Do they want to adopt me????
  10. Our first cruise was on the Song of Norway in August 1976. I had to get out my pictures tonight after reading this post. I have the list of passengers they gave us and other things like napkins and coasters. Can't ever duplicate the memories of that first cruise. We even got to dine with the captain one night. Thanks for bringing back all those wonderful memories.

  11. Also what does everyone think about using Princess's transfers back to Anchorage., they will let you off at the Egon Convention Center. Our flight isn't until 8:30. Will they keep our luggage for us and is it safe and secure. I have to do final payment before March 5th so any info is greatly appreciated. I booked this cruise at the beginning of June and now I'm doing this last minute....go figure......

  12. Thanks for all the great info. The hotel does not have to be that cheap but just not $200-$300. I like the idea that there is a shuttle from the airport and to the ship. We are going on May 19th on the Sapphire Princess. Doesn't that one leave from Canada place????? What hotels other than the Pan Pacific are close by there????
