We are flying in to Heathrow and leaving on a cruise from Southampton 3 days later. We are active seniors, but my husband does walk slowly and probably only a few blocks at a time. Thanks for responding so quickly!

Any advice on best area to stay in London for 2 or 3 nights? We prefer not to spend much more than $200-$250/night. I’ve been told Mayfair is great, but most of the hotels I’m finding that have availability there are way more money. I have been looking at the Park Grand Lancaster Gate, but that’s a little far from the theater district, and now I am looking at the Z hotel in Piccadilly. Anyone familiar with those or have another recommendation?

We will have one day in LeHavre and want to take a tour of the d day beaches at Normandy. Has anyone had any experience with princesses excursions there? The other suggestion has been Overlord tours.

In order to go to the military tatoo we would be giving up our only day in Glasgow. So my question is, military tatoo and tournof things around there, or spend the day touring in Glasgow?

This is our second trip to London, but the last one was many years ago. Any suggestions on what area to stay in? We want to be close to convenient transportation, but not in too congested an area.

Also ideas for fun things to do if we've already done the main sights before?

Has anyone done the military tatoo, and if so was it worth the time and money? We would have to be from Greencock, and have priced it with a tour company. However after reading these posts I'm wondering if,we can take the train from greencock to Glasgow and many a black cab from there. Any suggestions?

Did anyone visit the museum in Normandy, and if so, did you find it worthwhile? Overlord doesn't include it on their tour, and I'm not sure if we should spend the extra money to personalize a private tour that would include it.

We are using Havana Journey in June, and am curious to see if anyone has used them and what they thought.

Hello, when we did our Transpacific, we used Autos Vilar for both our transportation from the airport to hotel and to the cruise terminal. http://www.autosvilar.com/ We had 12 of us and cost us 10 euros each including all luggage.

We were not able to buy tickets for the guided tour on a Sunday in August, but had no trouble buying tickets with the audio guide for the same day/time.

I can get there with the hop on hop off bus, can't I?

Thank you MADflyer, I didn't know that. would you say im better off with a large taxi rather than Sun for 4 people with luggage? I appreciate your help.

We are going to use Sun Transfers, and for 4 adults with luggage are booking their 6 passenger van for a total of 50 euros. I didn't think a cab or car would have room for 4 large suitcases and 4 people, and don't want to wait for a larger taxi.

Sun seem to be more reasonable than a large cab, and have been highly recommended both on here and on Tripadvisor.

Yes that would be a good idea although I have to warn you I am a real do it yourselfer when it comes to cruising using local transportation rather than tour providers. I have a lot of info and always welcome more but my focus in ports may be different. Also we go to the canary islands which I think you guys miss.
