I'm sure this has been asked many times, but is it better to take a taxi or private car from airport to hotel? There are 4 of us with luggage. Can anyone recommend a driver or car service?

I have a few questions since reading this. Should, or can you, book the taxi in advance, or are there enough to just get one when you get off the ship? Also, what is the official website for the taxi tours? And, does anyone know anything about Carl and the Gibraltar inside out rock tours? Or are the taxi tours a better option?

I'm from Barcelona and I can tell you a couple o things.

 

Day trip to Girona is possible. But its about an hour trip each way. Depending on traffics.

 

Dalí's museum is not at Girona city but in Figueres, which is a town about half an hour to the north.

Thank you. We will not have a car. How accessible is Girona by train? And can we get to figueres from there by train or bus?

Since you are from Barcelona, can you recommend some places to eat that are more local and less touristy? I can't wait to see your beautiful city!

We too use the same company mentioned above (bcn travel)and they always have been waiting for us at the port terminal even when we arrived earlier than the reserved pick-up time. Last may there were only the two of us but they showed up with a van.

Another good and reliable company is Suntransfers, we have used them on several occasions, from the airport to hotel or ship v.v.

I want to use sun transfers, but I have a question and can't find a way to email them. There are 4 of us, each with a suitcase and carryon. Their website says the car for 4 has room for 4 MEDIUM bags and 4 carryon s. I want to know what size they consider as medium. Any idea how to email them?

There are many private car services that you can use, and they may even cost less than a taxi. Try sun transfers, they've been recommended on cruisecritic.

I know people that have used viator and been very happy with them. Hope this helps

Has anyone done a day trip to Girona? Do you need a tour or is it pretty easy to go on your own? How about a guide once you are there?

And how about getting to the Dali museum from there?

Would you recommend using them for a half day tour to the gaudi and other basic sites rather than doing it on our own with the hoho bus?

We did the same. We reserved Barcelona Day Tours to pick us up at the airport when we arrived at 8am. Took a 4 hour tour with our luggage secured in the car. When the tour ended, we were dropped off at Hotel Jazz and ventured out on our own.

It's such a vibrant city with incredible architecture and wonderful sites.

How did you like hotel jazz? Were you happy with the location? We are booked there for August.

I am deciding between hotel jazz and europark hotels in Barcelona. They are both owned by the same group. Any advice? Which location is better, or more convenient to sights and transportation.

Has anyone done the Barcelona/Lisbon itinerary with Oceania? I would live to hear advice for what to do in each port, and recommendations for private guides, drivers, and restaurants. Love to hear from past cruisers!

We are going to be in Lisbon next August on a cruise. We will be overnight there on the cruise, and then pla on staying 2 more nights. Is that too long?

Any advice on where to stay?

Tour guides or can we do it on our own?
