My wife loves them and she is thrilled that one is only a couple weeks away!

We are planning to have dinner at one of the specialty restaurants but we don't want to miss the formal nights in the MDR. Can someone tell me which nights those are on the western itinerary?

Watching the skyline of the port city fade away, and then waking in the morning to no land in sight...
Watching the ocean go by from the balcony.
Falling asleep on the deck while reading a book and reading the same page over and over and...
-
I love
- sitting on my balcony first thing in the morning.
- walking through a quiet ship, with my first cup of coffee, and seeing nothing but ocean, while the ship starts to come alive.
- waking up very early in the morning to catch a sunrise.
- taking a good book up to the pool deck, finding a lounge chair with an ocean view. I then rotate between reading, and relaxing in the hot tub.
- watching the sea go by, from my balcony, before dinner.
- having dinner in the main dining room, then enjoying the nights scheduled entertainment. Every night is date night.
- walking along an outside deck, with my sweetie, gazing at the stars
- midnight snacks
- standing on my deck, right before bed, and gazing at the stars
- reading in bed, for about 1l2 hour, with the balcony door open, with the ocean sounds in the background.
Repeat the next day.
Also: no cell phones, no TV, no internet, no cooking, cleaning, or making the bed.
I think you covered it all~ :)
- sitting on my balcony first thing in the morning.

I usually check in from my phone and then print boarding pass at the airport. About the only airline I think on-line check in time is used for anything is Southwest.
I also have paid for a few minutes of internet time on the last full day to do my OLCI and check weather if there's been concern over weather or wanted to change seats.
We've done this as well. We always fly Southwest, so getting checked in early can be a big deal.

We always book on the starboard side. No reason. Just feels more comfortable!

Thanks for the review. Our FOS cruise is not too far off!

Happy New Year and happy cruising!

Just to second Donna. Labadee is our favorite port as well. We look forward to the day there more than any of the other ports.
-
The best thing about snorkeling at Labadee is that it is good practice for the other ports with good snorkeling. :D Seriously, the water has been relatively calm when we are there, so it's a good place for beginners or if you are like my wife and I. We all get a chance to snorkel when we are cruising.

They are in the bathrooms, they guide you to go, then turn the water on to wash, then hand you a paper towel, and stand there waiting for your hands to dip into your pockets/wallet. :p
To be fair, this is now in The bathrooms at FLL airport, at least the mens rooms on the USA concourse.
I noticed that on our last visit. I didn't leave a tip in the bathroom. :-/

There will be staff at the beach to set out chairs for you if you wish to use one. They are a customed to being tipped. Other than that the bar staff will be by quite often! :D

Thanks. Hadn't even heard of Rusty's! Might live them a try.

Was going to print our luggage tags this morning, but I wasn't able to retrieve our reservation. Anyone else having trouble with the site this morning?

We are thinking of cruising to the Caribbean next year. It has been years since I have cruise on a Royal Caribbean ship. What is your favorite island to cruise to, and why? What Royal Caribbean ship did you cruise on?
We like the Freedom class (Freedom of the Seas and Liberty). We enjoy the western caribbean itinerary. All the ports are different, we enjoy something about each of them.
BTW, looks like we are neighbors. We used to live in Gladstone, but we are now in Parkville. :)
-
Nope; All of the Vision Class ships are still sailing. In fact, the Grandeur just finished a major upgrade.
The Majesty of the Seas, launched in 1992, is currently the oldest ship in the fleet.
Aloha,
John
We cruised on Majesty when it was one of the big ones! :D

You will see everything from tuxes to just shirt and slacks on formal night. I like to wear a suit or tux, but that just me... :)
There are 2 formal nights, I think a couple casual night and the rest are business casual for which I will some times wear a tie, but always a jacket/blazer.

Thanks for the info!

Which has the better view for watching ships leave the port?
-
We sometimes get a little chilly out on the deck in the evening.
-
We will have a standard room, but it's a corner aft balcony, so quite a bit larger according to pics I've seen. That said, we camp regularly, so I'm OK with a plate on my lap.
How many slices in an order of bacon? Just curious.
You'll be fine if you are used to eating with the plate on your lap. We always look forward to breakfast on the balcony! We usually leave the serving trays inside, fix our plates and head out to the balcony. There is plenty of room on the table for drinks and a plate of fruit or danish. My wife usually orders bacon, I think she only gets a couple of strips. Sorry to disappoint you. :)

Honey Stung was being eaten on the Freedom-12/8
Nice! I've have mine in a little more than a month!

I usually make reservations. You can find the cost on their website:
Mention Cruise Critic for a 10% discount.
Thanks!

If your itinerary includes a private port, i.e. Labadee, we always tip the gentlemen that help us with our lounge chair on the beach.
