If you were on the 9/25 - 10/04 sailing I was on it too! We loved it. Food & entertainment were great. Our cabin steward was friendly and attentive. We found the Observation Lounge too busy during the day, but it was always quiet in the evenings. Maltings was quiet for a pre-dinner drink. We were so lucky to have such great weather after the wet start in NYC.

I know that dress is generally "resort casual" with some theme nights. I've read that dressier (optional) nights are "Norwegian Night Out" and "Dress Up or Not". Are these the same thing or are these two different nights? Going on the Joy for a 9-day New England/Canada cruise this fall. Thanks!

I'm on the 9/25/23 Joy cruise from NYC to Quebec. We used NCL air and are flying home from Montreal. I think Quebec is just a tough location to fly to/from. Fo us, there are no direct flights from Quebec to Minneapolis. Yes, we'll have to bus to Montreal but we'll have a direct flight. I'm not sure that it will take that much longer than having a connecting flight.

As I posted earlier, I am on the Joy for a 9 day cruise starting 9/25. We have reserved our specialty dining for the two sea days, Le Bistro and Teppanyaki at 5:30 pm. My original thought was to book relatively early dinners as the sea days were likely to be the nights that Footloose and Elements was presented, and we'd want the earlier show. But now I'm wondering if we'd really have time to catch a 7:00pm show, or if that would make dinner too rushed? What are people's thoughts on that? How early would we have to be in line for a 7:00pm show, assuming we have reservations. Thanks!

I'm on the Joy on 9/25 for a similar itinerary as the 9/4 cruise--New England & Canada. I'm really looking forward to hanging out in the Observation Lounge on sea days. I'm also looking forward to sleeping in a bit on those days, so I'm worried that the OL will fill up early and we won't be able to find a spot (traveling with 2 friends). Do you have to get there early to find an open chair in the OL?
