Damn... I am thinking a won't bother with a TA in the future if I can be held 'hostage' when a poor response happens? Thanks BKer.
PS: I was a biker too until Harley sold to AMF. The resulting bike sucked!!!!

okay, if it's lying, and a rebooking is allowed, RCL won't do anything?

Nothing, other than take your business elsewhere on future bookings.
That stinks. Hopefully that won't be the case as we retire ion about 18 months and will be cruising a lot then (kids will also be out of college) so losing a 3 time a year cruiser should get some type of attention...
-
But so far EVERY cruise price drop I found, not the TA, and its not 'lying' but 'refusing to reprice. That is not reason?
-
For the next time I cruise or now?
-
So Biker19... what can a person do if the TA says NO to rebooking due to price drop?
-
ONce u book with a TA .... aren't u locked into them?
-
so Starry Eyes.... no TA's are limited on the amount of rebookings?
-
Okay, Biker19 you are most definitely a Verternan cruiser...
My cruise is 9-Night Eastern Caribbean and Perfect Day (Symphony of the Seas
Aug 09, 2024 - Aug 18, 2024). It is way off from final payment and I wouldn't think this a new market?Someone said 'some' TA's are restricted in some way for multiple rebooks?
Should I be worried?
-
On this site.... I have read YES and I have read NO?
My TA said they don't like you doing it too many times?
My current sailing on Aug 24 just went down by $180 ... prior to that a $204 and before that a $156.
I just bought the UDP but hope, when my TA returns, there is not a problem with taking advantage of the sale?
Thoughts from veteran cruisers out there?
-
Crewssweeper: Let us know what happens for you... as again, without pre-booking it isn't worth it to me.
-
I hope that is not mine as I have spotted the sales before her each time and asked for a rebook each time. I thought that was one of the reasons to have a TA in the first place rather than doing it yourself?
-
I have 'repriced' my Aug 24 cruise three times in the last week and each time a different cost?
Its about $180 less this morning? Have had the TA rebook twice so far (a few hundred each time) and told they don't like you to rebook too often?
Is that true as I thought anytime it's cheaper u can rebook?
-
Thanks that info is helpful!!!

I am honestly fine with just a couple specialty dining and the rest of the 9 day cruise in the MDR... wife and DS's want the specialty more. Last time on Oasis (2022) it was a shi_show trying to get reservations on board that didn't impact with shows. We were the first group boarding (10am) and Running to Hibachi, as theirs can only be made FROM Hibatchi, then the problems doing them from 150... no way. Fights as to the lines happened twice! Plus by the time we finished, many times/days not available
If I can Prebook, as Royal Caribbean's Senior Vice President and Chief Product Innovation Officer Jay Schneider confirmed a few days ago for ALL ships after Jan 24.... all good.
If that was lip service and u have to wait until on board... will cancel.
-
yeah... mine is $21 for 1 users for an August 2024 sailing? That seems high
-
Thanks...since the cost was $1400 I better make sure that my card has available credit!!!!!

I have already done this 2 times. So easy. The refund takes longer to appear than the purchase, of course.
Oh...so they don't just reapply the first purchase to the new one!
-
Thanks all... just booked their UDP and if, they actually don't offer the precruise booking for my Aug 24 sailing on Symphony, will cancel!

-
Does that mean you don't have to fork out the money twice... they just apply the first amount to the second purchase?
-
Just spoke to that 'Pre-Cruise Planning Assistance' number (nightmare almost 75 minute wait) and they said that Wonder is THE ONLY SHIP planned to allow for precruise booking?
Our cruise last year (on Oasis with UDP) was a real pain in the as_ the first day running to Hibatchi/Izumi just to book all the reservations... as they would NOT allow before sailing.
I see in this thread that is changing after Jan BUT RCL tells me no?
My Symphony Sailing in Aug 2024 UDP just went down but I do not want the UDP if I cannot prebook?
Who do I believe?

Darn....trying to plan Dinner times!!!!
-
Wondering if I look at sailings of Symphony now (I'll be taking a 9-Day so will look for similar) will that be reasonably accurate for an 8/24 sailing?
Is there a limit to 'rebooking' when the price drops? HELP

Good point... The TA has not yet responded so maybe I should not expect a NO.... unfortuately a life being a Risk Mgr makes me always assume the worst and prepare for that!
