  1. Oldest: Song of America Newest: Oasis Favorite: Since 'Song of America' was our Honeymoon Cruise... if I picked any other ship I wouldn't see Nookie from DW until my next life!
  2. I agree PhillyFan33579! I was looking at MSC and they are cheap. Unfortunately, so appears their shows so I am stuck with NCL and RCL as shows are important to us. We are a supply and demand country... if not the world, so if you want it, you have to pay for it! I will just go on RCL... but I'll be the one with his hat out on the gang plank as you walk in!
  3. I was a negotiation professor at Rutgers years ago... The upper-limit demands by striking workers are ridiculous... they want a 40% compounded increase, a drop to a 32-hour work week (which then raises the requested raise to 60%+) a return to Pensions (when pensions at non-government firm is in the single digits now), guaranteed jobs (I have never had that .... as many others have not) ... etc. I agree that the distribution of wealth has been one-sided, hell my wife works in the Pharma field and the CEO is officially the highest compensated employee in NJ!, but they need to be realistic... especially given China's status in the EV market... our future! Sorry, I had to get that off my chest as all this year has been is strikes or fights. In Congress, they are not even getting off their $%%@ to address the debt ceiling that when broken on 9/30 will directly impact my retirement funds! Is there a way to transfer my citizenship to a cruise ship??????
  4. Didn't know that but the Boys might only have maybe 10 alcoholic drinks each so even just getting the alcohol pkg for them is tooooo expensive
  5. Thanks... neither my wife nor I are alcohol drinkers and the Alcohol Drink Pkg requires ALL in the cabin to buy so I was thinking of the Refreshment Pkg than just a few add ons. Maybe best just to get no packages as the alcoholic drinks cost the same (per drink without package) even if we bought the boys the Refreshment Package.
  6. so its dumb to get a mocktail in our package and simply pay for the booze then
  7. whats like a shot of rum run? (as u can see I am not a drinker but my Boys might want to)
  8. This might sound like a dumb question but... If u have the Refreshment Package... can you just pay only for the alcohol to be added the one or two times you might want it to your mocktail?
  9. If you book it and then the Boys (20 and 24) don't like the idea... can u easily cancel the day pass?
  10. Just checked my Planner and it lists the Hideaway Beach Day Pass at $52.99. Is that a good price? The CocoBeach is $268.99 pp for day pass (way too expensive for 4 of us)
  11. Thanks... we have such a limited view of cruises so far as we usually cater to the kids. Really want a more 'adult' experience. Love Broadway shows, food, games, and sitting by the pool. Excursions want to hit the historic areas. Been on Carnival once... didn't like it, RCL and NCL and found the two great. NCL Prima looks good and RCL Celebrity might be an option. Outside of that.... looking for advice, as above about Princess!
  12. Thinking about a cruise to these areas for my wife and I. Not like normal cruises we go on (with two boys in their late teens and 20's) this one is more about ^0-somethings?
  13. Thanks all as I am surprised that they are running those shows during the day. The last one we were in was very provocative!
  14. Look at Symphony in Spain now and times are very early or not at all. Didn't know if they do different shows depending on where the ship ports are in the world. I wonder what Perfect Couple is?
  15. Are these shows now during the day? I thought they were in the evenings? One of the few situations I get away with 'venting' about inlaws so... I don't want to miss. Also, was voted 'most likely to not make it to the end of the cruise and STILL married' so I do like making jokes there.
  16. Thanks Rockmom ... or is it the Mom that Rocks?
  17. Thanks orville99! I was just going to ask about 'drydock' as we are going on Symphony of the seas in Aug 2024 and I saw they went into 'drydock' last March or so. Hope the ship is all cleaned up!
  18. When we had the UDP on Oasis in 2022... they only offered us 'ala carte' at Izumi? $20 if I recall correctly. The boys eat once early (spending about $18) then went again later in the day, getting the same. Has the number of times you can go on the UDP, per day, changed to only once?
  19. Just looked at the Symphony sailing going on right now and the 8-piece Rolls are either $13 or for the chefs type $18 per. Since that is what they care about, not the soup or desert... better just having them get it on the ship than a prepaid option....Thanks all. PS: Just hope the price does not go up in the future
  20. I just noticed that the Dinner or Lunch on the RCL site are the same price ($35.99), and have identical menus, except for one called lunch and one called Dinner. Each lists the 'Rolls' as having 8 pieces! Both menus say : What's Included Start off with one (1) small plate, like Miso Soup or Pork Gyoza Dumplings. Pick your choice of two (2) large plates from a selection of signature rolls, sushi & sashimi, flavorful bowls of ramen and more. Top it all off with one (1) delicious dessert like mochi ice cream offered in a variety of flavors. So I have to assume that they WILL serve 8 pieces and print and and save the menu when I buy it (as once before RCL changed the ala carte allowance on me and when I showed them what it was when I bought it... they reimbursed me to that level)
  21. Thanks for the info. We had UDP on Oasis last time and had no reductions. This time, on Symphony in Aug 2024, plan to buy 3 Dinner-package (will use at 150 and Hibachi) and MAYBE four lunch Izumis for the boys... but not if it's at a penalty.
