  1. It could be more difficult, depending what the condition is. I've found as we get older of course it is more expensive.
  2. That's who we bought from, I was happy with the price too. We didn't need the medical.
  3. Yes i have a newer phone and it will accept eSims. Thank you!
  4. That's what i was thinking. I would only need it when we were off the ship on tours etc.
  5. That's what I was thinking, I could activate and just pay the daily charge. You are right in an emergency it wouldnt matter.
  6. That is a good point, if we got lost on an excursion. Not really worrying about the cost more the complication of buying and activating it. Not that great at technology.
  7. Hi everyone, I know this is a popular topic on here. We will be in Europe for 12 days in Oct. I've been doing some research and I'm thinking that I won't buy any sim card or data. We will use Whats App or Messenger to stay in touch with family at home, we will be together so won't be calling each other. We are on a river cruise so will be partaking in their tours/excursions. There is wifi on the ship and hotels. Staying two nights before the cruise and one night after. We will need transportation to the airport but I have heard from others that the hotel will call you a taxi. I think it is $15 a day to add it to my current cell phone plan. So am I missing anything? Any reason I need a cell phone or data?
  8. We bought cancellation/interruption insurance through RBC. We had some on our credit card but topped it up to cover the cost of the cruise. We have our out of country medical insurance through Tour Med. Also Canadian
  9. We live near the border and prefer to fly from Detroit or even Flint if it's an option. We cross at Sarnia and never have any problems with parking etc and is so much closer for us than Toronto. It wasn't an option with this trip.
  10. I am interested in this service too. We leave for a cruise in October flying out of Pearson. We have an evening flight so because the weather should be good we were planning to drive down and park at the airport. Agree, Robert Q is expensive. Will let you know if I find out anything or use it.
  11. We will be flying to Europe in October, YYZ-CDG and home AMS -YYZ . We have Nexus, can we use the Trusted Traveller line?
  12. Try Medi Pac endorsed by the Canadian Snowbird Association or Tour Med. Medi Pac are very good at answering questions when you call.
  13. Miss G, I know this was posted a few months ago, but we are planning our first river cruise with Avalon. We will be doing the Romantic Rhine and will be visiting a lot of the same cities and tours. Thank you for posting such a informative and fun trip report.
  14. Thanks Fran, We booked the Romantic Rhine this time. We live in SW Ontario closer to the US border.
  15. Thanks everyone and Jazz especially for all your help. We booked the Romantic Rhine in October with Avalon. It had some promotions and worked out to be a good price (I think) We fly into Zurich and have two nights there and then a full day and one night in Amsterdam. Maybe we should of tried to stay a second night but it seemed easier this time to just stick to the itinerary that was provided. We are really excited and I have been reading all the reviews and forums on here. I'm sure I will have lots of other questions.
  16. We have just booked our first cruise and we have medical/out of country insurance already. I am looking at topping up our Visa for cancellation/interruption etc. I have called a few companies and it seems to be the best price. We booked our airfare with the cruise package so would it be considered nonrefundable?
  17. We are Canadian and have booked through Tour Med and Medi Pac (endorsed by Canadian Snow Bird Association). We processed a small claim through TourMed with no problem. We paid and were reimbursed with a few weeks. We have purchased up to 75 days for winter trips but we are just looking at our first cruise. We purchased the TourMed package back in January (medical only/not cancellation etc) for the entire year. My husband does have preexisting conditions and is on a lot of meds so its something thats very important to us.
  18. Do you mind if I email you with a couple of questions? If not, no problem.
  19. That would have been great! No overthinking and planning.
  20. Thank you, I will take a look at that if we decide to go with the Rhine cruise.
  21. I don't think so, I havent seen it on the itinerary
