Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Hi everyone, Silverseas cruises are finalising our included airfares. We will be arriving from Australia to LAX at 1830 and need to make a connection at 2115 for an Alaska Airlines flight to Seattle with the third flight from Seattle to Anchorage. I’m not yet sure if it will be ticketed all the way through, but if it isn’t, what responsibility does Silverseas have if we miss the connection due to flight delays. 2 hrs 45 mi utes seems tight to clear passport control, get our luggage and make our way to the next terminal. It’s not until May 2024 and I realise flights may be subject to change.
  2. Hi everyone, we’ve booked D2D on silverseas Alaska cruise in May 2024. We have just got the flight details and it’s not what I would have chosen but unfortunately if we were to take an air credit and book our own flights what we can book is almost double the credit offered. It’s a very long flight from Melbourne. MELBOURNE/LAX/SEATTLE/ANCHORAGE all up its 31 hours. The flight includes a layover at Seattle airport from 2330 until 0700 the next morning. Even if we could get access none of the lounges are open after midnight. So we either have to pay $300 plus for a hotel room for a few hours or just sit for the night at the airport. What is the most convenient hotel to the terminal. Has anyone done a similar thing pre cruise before?
  3. Yes, true there are all sorts of options but it’s still going to be about 29 hours with stop overs as Melbourne is about a 15 hour flight from LAX
  4. Hi, we are first time cruisers booked on Silver Muse, Seward to Alaska May 2024. We have opted for the door to door fares. However looking at flights from Melbourne, Australia to Anchorage it seems that regardless of the airline it’s going to be a flight of at least 24 hours maybe longer with 3 stops. Most flights land in Anchorage between midnight and 3:30 am on the day we will be boarding the cruise. This is going to leave us feeling very jet lagged. Has anyone booked door to door with silver seas previously and found that there is some flexibility in perhaps arriving 2 days prior to the cruise and paying the additional night accommodation? Or if the flights offered do t work for us can we be refunded the difference between port to port and door to door?
