  1. Good to see on CruiseMapper that SoD is now safe in Portsmouth. Hope everyone on board can sleep easy tonight after the trauma of the last 5 or 6 days.
  2. Only times I've known them not to is when taxi drivers etc won't allow it. When we were in Bergen on Pearl 2 passengers from other ships tried to use our free shuttle busses. Children & teens were a bit obvious though.
  3. OMG Poor Kevin & Jean. Hope they are both OK. I will only stop worrying about all on board when SoD is back in PME & you have all disembarked from your hellish return to the UK. The last few days have been so unlike any Saga cruise we have been on. They have always been so cautious about weather conditions.
  4. So pleased things are improving. Is the MDR still being used as a field hospital? I'm guessing there'll be a fleet of ambulances waiting at Portsmouth. A dining companion last week said SoA had 3 flashing ones at one of our final ports but she couldn't remember which.
  5. Thanks for the update Glad. It certainly hasn't been the luxury cruise you signed up for. I hope the captain explains why they did hole up somewhere & it better be a good reason!
  6. SoA is still in the E Channel after being in Falmouth for days. Seems illogical to me that she's set off tonight but she isn't in BoB yet.
  7. Just want to say we are thinking of all of you on board. 12.7m seas are too scary to contemplate. Stay safe everyone on board, We will be thinking of you until you are safely back on land,
  8. Probably a Titan car all the way home. Trains were 20 years ago, guy jumped off & lifted our cases, at Euston a vehicle arrived for all the cases. We then spent a lot of time at Euston.
  9. Showing 5.4 on CM. Wonder if there was an option to just go home. Love a bit of rough sea but less the older I get.
  10. They tell you to have a kipper breakfast before the boat to the Scillies for the same reason.
  11. Relieved to see you are still able to post Glad. CM says it is now 12.1m & you look to be heading WNW at 5kn.
  12. I think reception give out a better one. Maybe that's why. This is reminding me of when we were due to board Sapphire in Dec 2015. Steward told us that our cabin had been 'trashed' by the storm.
  13. Cruise Mapper showing you heading NW atm.
  14. Sounds much better than being on SoD right now.
  15. CruiseMapper says that too. It also says the sea is at 7.6. Stay safe eveyone one on board.
  16. Enjoy. Kevin Woodford told us that is his favourite restaurant on both ships. Stay Safe.
  17. Depends on RN I suspect. When we sheltered in Aug 2021 RN ships were there.
  18. We discussed that one, sounds fabulous but you know how many Margaritas we would get through & our livers are crying 'No, No, No'
  19. Never been midship on Saga. You don't need an alarm clock for breakfast in A549 & you get a free smoke if the wind is in the wrong direction. I figure mid ship is between the 2 blocks of lifts so the Living room, Library, North/South Cape & the Lido are all mid. B028 is between them & convenient for the launderette for stuff that can't be washed by the ship.
  20. My Aunt & Uncle were on a cruise in the Canaries where they were confined to their cabins for 3 days. They had an inside cabin. I think I'd have had a breakdown.
  21. Grill is Aft. Stay in A549 & you'll know I'm right.
  22. I think Room Service will be busy rather than the MDR & speciality restaurants.
  23. We both got that email too. Ours said any cruise till the end of 2024. I agree that the 2024 season isn't inspiring.
  24. Poor SoD crew. They had a force 10 in Biscay on the way back from the States. Our Orca team heard from their Orca team on board. SoA was enjoying the sunshine at the time.
