  1. Probably a Titan car all the way home. Trains were 20 years ago, guy jumped off & lifted our cases, at Euston a vehicle arrived for all the cases. We then spent a lot of time at Euston.
  2. Showing 5.4 on CM. Wonder if there was an option to just go home. Love a bit of rough sea but less the older I get.
  3. They tell you to have a kipper breakfast before the boat to the Scillies for the same reason.
  4. Relieved to see you are still able to post Glad. CM says it is now 12.1m & you look to be heading WNW at 5kn.
  5. I think reception give out a better one. Maybe that's why. This is reminding me of when we were due to board Sapphire in Dec 2015. Steward told us that our cabin had been 'trashed' by the storm.
  6. Cruise Mapper showing you heading NW atm.
  7. Sounds much better than being on SoD right now.
  8. CruiseMapper says that too. It also says the sea is at 7.6. Stay safe eveyone one on board.
  9. Enjoy. Kevin Woodford told us that is his favourite restaurant on both ships. Stay Safe.
  10. Depends on RN I suspect. When we sheltered in Aug 2021 RN ships were there.
  11. We discussed that one, sounds fabulous but you know how many Margaritas we would get through & our livers are crying 'No, No, No'
  12. Never been midship on Saga. You don't need an alarm clock for breakfast in A549 & you get a free smoke if the wind is in the wrong direction. I figure mid ship is between the 2 blocks of lifts so the Living room, Library, North/South Cape & the Lido are all mid. B028 is between them & convenient for the launderette for stuff that can't be washed by the ship.
  13. My Aunt & Uncle were on a cruise in the Canaries where they were confined to their cabins for 3 days. They had an inside cabin. I think I'd have had a breakdown.
  14. Grill is Aft. Stay in A549 & you'll know I'm right.
  15. I think Room Service will be busy rather than the MDR & speciality restaurants.
  16. We both got that email too. Ours said any cruise till the end of 2024. I agree that the 2024 season isn't inspiring.
  17. Poor SoD crew. They had a force 10 in Biscay on the way back from the States. Our Orca team heard from their Orca team on board. SoA was enjoying the sunshine at the time.
  18. Yes, I actually prefer the more tradition design. I was very disappointed when Saga first released pictures of the new builds. Remember Sapphire being followed by a new P&O ship in a storm & the 'faster' P&O ship couldn't keep up. Balmoral only has a 7m draught according to MT though.
  19. Yes, he asks on the first evening. I requested 3 Supper Club & 2 Amalfi. The TV info used to say 2 speciality restaurants (per week). In April the Butler was pushing us to book more than that. I was told that someone ate in the SC every night but also told that spaces were available if you just arrived & asked. On Monday night the most difficult place to get a table seemed to be the Grill. People were queueing when we left.
  20. It was bad on our balcony but not as bad as it was on the same balcony back in Dec 21/ Jan 22.
  21. Is it damaged? They seem to have a very different attitude to risk to Saga.
  22. Saga are probably still putting a new itinary together. The new CD is having a rough initiation.
  23. Will do. I'll add any extras that we did over the next few days. We were in the BL - tag 6. We had cases even though we knew about the shuttle bus. Actually the lift was more of a problem than the bus. The freebie fiz & couple of bottles of duty free from Gib had their own case. Christmas fiz is sorted though.
  24. She isn't huge by modern standards. It wasn't unscheduled as it was posted as the destination before they left Portsmouth. In 2021 at the start of the Christmas cruise we overnighted in Southampton & then sheltered in Portland for the next night. No Funchal for us that time either. A Fred Olsen ship that didn't shelter spent a few days in Bordeaux.
