  1. There's plenty to see and do in England - what sort of activities are you interested in?
  2. I guess it's because the initial Greater Anglia leg of my trip is ridiculously over-priced to start with 🤣 Cost-wise, the train cannot compete with National Express from my corner of the UK.
  3. You got a bargain @ColoradoMom!! - I've never seen any train tickets that cheap, especially for 1st class!
  4. Navigating the London Underground with suitcases is a real problem. Finding elevators is not as easy as it should be - and you will often have to queue just to get in. Locals will be very unhelpful if you have a lot of luggage. Oh, and British trains tend to be very expensive. I would strongly recommend the bus/coach because it is simple and requires much less hassle. This guide should help answer a lot of your questions: https://www.journeyintodarkness.co.uk/national-express-to-southampton-cruise-terminal
  5. In our experience, National Express coaches are the most cost-effective option for travelling between London and Southampton Cruise Terminals. Here's a detailed guide to help you get started: https://www.journeyintodarkness.co.uk/national-express-to-southampton-cruise-terminal
  6. Dokkan sell some expensive snacks and meals, but it's the beer that draws the crowds https://www.journeyintodarkness.co.uk/yes-its-a-fjord-duh
  7. Keflavik is the main international airport for Reykjavik. Hope this helps!
  8. We sailed into Iceland three times and never had any kind of immigration check. I've asked about it in Seydisfjordur and Iceland and received odd looks from the visitor info desk operators who seem shocked that I would even ask the question (I'm a keen collector of passport stamps). So no, it is extremely unlikely that you will have to go through immigration unless you are travelling after the roll-out of ETIAS throughout the EU. When that happens, all bets are off. https://www.journeyintodarkness.co.uk/category/iceland
  9. According to 'Portland Port', shuttle buses terminate near Hope Square in Weymouth https://www.portland-port.co.uk/news/127/Buses+vital+for+cruise+ship+visits
  10. Fog seems to be a common feature of the approach to Qaqortoq 😄 https://www.journeyintodarkness.co.uk/qaqortoq
  11. Consider me very jealous cunnorl. It's a great trip.
  12. We were in Seydisfjordur yesterday. You can book excursions 'on the ground' in the tourist information centre/café located in the cruise terminal building if you don't want to get burned by odd cancellation policies.
  13. Qaqortoq, Nanortalik and Prince Christian Sound are all no-go due to ice. Nothing but expedition ships will be going anywhere for the foreseeable future - and even they are unlikely to head down the Sound. More details here: https://www.journeyintodarkness.co.uk/greenland-port-cancellations
  14. Having been to Akureyri and Isafjordur (neither of which particularly impressed) I'd like to throw the Faroe Islands into the mix as an alternative.
  15. In theory, the lack of exit stamp could cause a problem because it then becomes difficult to prove that you haven't overstayed your 90-day visa-free limit. That said, I have never been questioned about the lack of an exit stamp - it possibly depends on how anal the next border control officer is...
