  1. Got the Alaska email at my throw away email address.

Did not get any emails from Crystal for the past 2 weeks at the email address associated and linked with Crystal Society/Crystal Account. That was fixed and got emails for a little while but, it seems to have stopped. I guess that email address got dropped once again.

  2. For months, I was not getting emails from Crystal on my email address that is linked/associated with Crystal Society/Crystal account. I was getting emails at my throw away address that is not linked with Crystal. So I took the matters into my hands, reached out on Crystal Society Family page on facebook.

My suggestion is go to Facebook, if you have an account, Crystal Society Family page and post that you have not been getting any emails from Crystal at your email address that is associated with Crystal Society/Crystal Account. I worked with Crystal rep via Facebook. Eventually the rep transmitted the problems over to appropriate dept to rectify the problem. Before long, I started to get emails from Crystal at the email address linked with Crystal Society/Crystal account.

Resubscribing on Crystal website will not work. My issue was fixed internally via the rep at Crystal Society Family page.

Or alternatively, call Crystal and tell them that the issue must be sent to IT people to fix whatever the problem is so the emails can start coming to your inbox.

    Hope this helps.  Kate

    Observations and Comments

Food was as good as ever.
We did not eat at Osteria because Waterside had many old favorites that we wanted.
Only one  Waterside meal was weird, the lobster had been way over cooked and had a very fishy smell.  Otherwise, choosing our faves was easy.

Beverages were made quite strong, but we adjusted.
Drink accuracy needs some work, coke and anisette is not the same as vodka/diet coke.
We saw some get red wine while they requested white.
    No big deal.

Aquamarine classic staterooms need some carpet and couch replacements.  Just a little worn out.

While we didn’t watch TV much, we do enjoy the news and lectures.  Closed captions need to be enabled for Seniors with hearing deficit.

Excursions were just OK.  The ‘Rum Tasting” was really a drive around to various tourist traps and because of the negative feedback, we got a partial refund.  Good Job Crystal!
Whale watching was great, a bit long of a bumpy ride but we saw them!  Swimming with the rays was also a big winner!

We really missed the excitement of getting a folio in the mail with our luggage tags and additional documents.  I would PAY for the option of hard copy vs. email just to have another folio.

On board stores are the same.  They do not have any real golf shirts in Crystal color with logo.
Mens t-shirts are not golf shirts.  See Calloway or Nike for the real things.

Crew and Hotel staff were exceptional.  Answered all questions with a smile.

This sailing had 599 pax.  Probably the most elderly demographics I have ever seen.  I hope A&K can bring in more of the 40-60 year olds without growing into a mass market style just to get sailors.  It Is a delicate balance.

We were on the same segment. I enjoyed the new reincarnated Crystal and was thrilled to see many crew members back, some were promoted to new positions which is wonderful for them. Food, I felt that the quality of food was better than OC.  Loved my aquamarine classic room which is well laid out. Internet, it was fantastic to have decent speeds with Starlink. I was disappointed that the shops did not have logo items and the sundries were rather limited. The tablet is quirky and kept telling me my PW was no good, yet I loved reading what dinner will be on the menu before I went downstairs.

But……sailing on Crystal beats a mile over sailing another line which I will not go back. I have more cruises booked with Crystal.

TV, that is bothersome to me. NO closed captioned tv shows or movies. I felt Crystal left deaf/hearing impaired demographic out of the picture. In the past with OC (Genting) I fought to have closed captioned put on the tv for everyone and succeeded. With new Crystal while onboard, I felt left out of not being able to hear (closed captioned) tv shows and football games. Time will tell….

  4. Hi,

Is Crystal still mailing luggage tags to booked guests?

If so, how many weeks before the embarkation day?

It would be great that we have the tags in our hands and not fill out the tags at the embarkation port.

    thank you.

    Kate

  5. Same cruise as Amber, the January cruise. I asked at obgs email address and got an answer.

This cruise will have two formal nights with the dates confirmed closely to voyage.

How soon close to your sailing date did anyone of you find out what nights are formal nights? Ask shoreside staff close to the sailing date? Or did Crystal send out emails?

    thank you, Kate

  6. I had the same issue that gmarsh had, 3/4 calls and emails from a consultant week one.

Week two, more calls and emails. I politely and very nicely emailed the person asking to stop reaching out to me. The calls and emails stopped.

it would be fantastic that Crystal snd out requested hard copies brochures so we can browse them in bed or out on the deck.

  8. I do not see shore excursions in my account at all......My Reservations button is greyed out.

Could that mean the cruise is more than 60 days out thus shore ex and prices are not posted on the account until 60 days out?

Have to look at the webpage for shore excursions with no prices. How can one plan without prices??

It is utterly ridiculous not to be able to view shore ex prices months ahead (not 60 days out)  to see if I want to do a tour with Crystal or an independent tour on my own.

  9. We have a cruise booked in January. I looked at the website for my cruise only to find that there are no prices for the shore excursions.

I also looked at a similar cruise that is departing in November 2023 and of course, there are no shore excursion prices listed.

How can one book a shore excursion if there is no price listed? OC used to list the prices but I know this is the NC which things are done differently.

    Call crystal?

    Thank you! Kate

Do you need to have a cruise booked to be able to create an account? I do not have one yet. Out of curiosity I gave it a try, and it didn't work.

I entered all my information, but got this:

I figured out how to get the log in info appear.

if you don’t see “login” in the upper right hand corner, on your devices/computer you MUST resize the web page to a smaller size. Then the log in info will appear.

My iPad is set to 115%. Once I reduced to 85% the entire home page page appears, including missing the login info.

  11. May, Do you know for sure??

Most likely the TA will not have it because if people  mentioned that there are missing chunk of segments between Dec 2023 to July 2024 on the Crystal Website.

Anyone else do not see the missing segments?

Has Crystal said anything about uploading the missing segments?

    kate

  12. Fabulous that the bookings are open. Can't wait to book a cruise if Crystal load in the missing segments for the Serenity ship. She is missing a whole bunch between December 2023 to July 2024.

Does anyone got a word from Crystal that the missing segments will be loaded in.

I am itchy to get my fingers on the missing segments.

  13. Hi, We are sailing with Regent for the first time.

For now we are wait listed with two shore excursions.

However, if we book an alternative shore ex on the wait listed day, would the newly booked shore excursion cancel the wait listed shore excursion (Our first choice)?

    Thank you!

    Kate

  14. Another Crystal Refugee booked on Regent for Dec.

I read somewhere that people got Shore Ex in PDF format by calling Regent. For my cruise, I did the same and have the PDF on my computer to read anytime.

Also, I read somewhere on this board that one can call Regent in to book shore ex. Posters have reported that calling was much faster than trying to book onlie.

  15. OMG!! We ate there two times we were in Miami. That buildzing does not look pretty. Nothing will replace the original Perricones, not even a new location. The old location was cultivated for years!

  16. As others have said, 9/11 museum allow yourself ample time like 3 plus hours. I had to rush thru after 2.5 hrs to go to a biz meeting. I went around 1 pm on a Wednesday in the fall. No reservations needed.

Freedom Tower, it is recommended that one visit on a good clear day to maximize the views which can be seen beyond 20 plus miles. No backpacks, no liquids, no food are allowed. Only a purse or small fanny pack and camera are allowed. Security is extremely strict. You can book tickets online the day before. There were times I wanted to go to the Freedom Tower and was ready to book only to hear that it would be "cloudy" so I scrapped it.

  17. Cruiser Bruce,

With due respect, I would like to have my Crystal Cruise friends who I have known and sailed with for years and met many on the ship to give me restaurants recommendations as we have shared and traded many recommendations of all sorts over the years.

CC board is sometimes difficult to find.

Post that are moved, we don't know where it went unless someone post the link.

Btw, I thought Host Dan is our host for Crystal board.

    Thank you and regards, Kate

  18. I am reposting hopefully to get some suggestions / recommendations from all of you Crystal Veterans on restaurants in Fort Lauderdale.

We are staying in Fort Lauderdale at Pelican Grand Hotel on North Ocean Blvd between NE 19 st and NE 21 st and are looking for restaurants a short taxi ride away.

This is our first visit in Fort Lauderdale.

We like good seafood, steaks, and Italian. Any suggestions are welcome.

    Thank you!!

    Kate
