Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. There is a useful Singapore site for checking medication here. You just put the active ingredients of the medication and it will check if it needs prior approval. The main important thing is NOT bringing more than 3 months worth of any medication https://www.hsa.gov.sg/personal-medication/check-requirements
  2. For info several cruisers are currently in the Far East and have posted about their experiences with Singapore & Malaysia requirements. The thread is on the Marella cruises thread and titled "SGAC with MYICA app query" Obviously it depends on Nationality and itinerary but here is a summary: There is no requirement to fill in the Malaysia arrival card when coming off the cruise for day trip. Passports are kept by the ship office for Malaysia ports. Passengers only need cabin card when getting on/off ship. For Singapore, Digital arrival card needed to be filled out within 72 hours of arrival. (and process is repeated if returning to Singapore later in the cruise i.e. Fill out another arrival card). Marella provided passengers with WiFi access for the purposes of doing the arrival card or using the MyICA app. (MyICA app allows you to put your passport info into the profile for all passengers gers in advance making it quicker). Passengers had to carry passports with them through cruise port immigration and into Singapore. Depending on Nationality, those who filled the arrival card in advance were allowed to use the automatic gates showing passport & giving thumbprint. Obviously with higher humidity in carrying passport in Singapore it is worth pre-purchasing a suitable plastic folder, etc
  3. Drinks menu is available online here. Looks like $39 for original Singapore Sling https://www.rafflessingapore.com/restaurant/long-bar/
  4. Yes i read on one website, they keep delaying it, so probably issues with their system. Should be fun when we go in Feb! Best of luck with everything and have a great holiday
  5. Great thanks for the update. Very helpful. Yes you think Singapore & Malaysia would allow a single block entry with just the start/end date
  6. Our cruise docks into Singapore and various ports in Malaysia several times. I know you need to fill the Singapore arrival card for each occasion you dock there, but does anyone know if you need to fill out the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card if coming off a cruise ship and also do you need to repeat it again if re-docking in another Malaysia port a few days later (after Thailand)
  7. We are going in Feb, so looks like we have to do it before. While there is a lot of evidence that you need to the Singapore one multiple times. I couldn't find anything that said you need to do the MDAC for every arrival into Malaysia and whether you could just put the end date of the final Malaysia port. I'd be really appreciative if you could let us know what happened after the cruise. I also wondered if cruisers were exempt from the Malaysia form as there is virtually nothing on any of the cruise critic threads. I've just posted a general question on the 'other cruise lines' thread as it reaches a wider audience RE: no internet, I'm guessing TUI will provide basic WiFi capability for this, but it is likely to be slow. If you have a fairly modern phone you cam buy something called an e-sim (a bit like a data sim card but it is electronic rather than physical). Altough you cant use it at sea, you can get 5Gb for all Asia countries for about £10. Martin Lewis moneysaving expert explains them here https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/mobiles/what-is-an-esim/
  8. Well spotted on the Malaysia Entry Card. It looks like you have to complete the form within 3 days BEFORE day of sailing into the first Malaysia port. (i.e they don't allow it on the day of arrival like Singapore). I hope TUI provide more info on this type of stuff before the cruise
  9. By the way for the original poster saying the flight details not recognised, you can choose Private/Other then put the flight number in. According to this link. One question i have is if you are supposed to put Transit or Day Trip if going from the airport to the Cruise Terminal. The guidelines seem to indicate that transit is only used if not clearing immigration
  10. Just searched through lots of Cruise Critic forums on the subject and as best as i can work out, you need to fill out the arrival card each time you come into Singapore (even if on a cruise which comes back to Singapore midway through the cruise and then again at the end of the cruise) Using the MyICA app to store your profiles makes it easier (you can upload your passport info here for all passengers) then do a group application. You need to add your previous location and next location (e.g. Port e.g. Malacca) and what dates, so it is probably best to have all this info written down in advance. Those arriving at the airport have mentioned there are tablets available for those that did it incorrectly, and they just send you into the longer line to repeat the process
  11. I'm also interested in this answer. Plus also wondering how to fill out the field that says "type of accommodation in Singapore", do i put "other" with it being a cruise? Then the question "next city/port of disembarkation after Singapore", do we put the next port which is Mallaca or our 'uk home town". Our cruise stops in Singapore mid cruise as well
