That means you don't get to chose when you use your visit,  the first 2 visits count.

You should be able to declare this is a "Plus" visit or an a la carte visit on a per person basis.

I could have said don't use a credit for my wife, but I didn't. I could tell that she did not see anything on the menu she liked, and I knew she does not like sushi. Vines was always packed with overflow Gelato and premium dessert eaters. Like I said, Alfredo's took longer to eat at than the main dinning room dinner did.

  2. Here is another thing I ran into. I got to where I was at a point where it was " use it or lose it". I at least wanted to try Ocean View before the cruise was over . So I decided to go get a California roll . I found I could do it, But I was there for a full hour.  It took ten minutes to finally catch a waiters attention, then forty minutes to get my single California roll  . In other words, the casual restaurants are now full service restaurants and not set up for getting a quick good meal. The time required to eat at the casual restaurants is to long now in my opinion.

GAH!!! Cognac is not meant to be served over ice. The shape of the snifter is designed so your hand warms the cognac. I had one bartender serve me cognac on ice. I left it on the bar and told him to drink it himself. Then I went to a different bar. When a bartender on our last trip served my Scotch on the rocks I made him take it back and pour a new drink neat. I told him, "Only barbarians put ice in their whisky."

Well I did grow up on Kesslers (smooth as silk)

    I told you I was a factory worker/ barbarian .

I will just have to work another year of fifty- six hours work weeks and come back for another cruise so I can try a $20.00 shot of congac without ice this time .

They go down real easy. I really enjoyed it when I had it Crown Grill but I love bourbon, so the peach tea portion is maybe wasted on me. In Tennessee I have access to great peach tea and great bourbon. I typically keep them separate, one at work during lunch and one at home in the evening. My wife makes great peach tea.

Well branch out and try the Remy Martin XO congac on the rocks for your after dinner drink at the main dinning room. You don't get to have that every day. I felt like a big shot drinking it, until I remembered I have to go back to my job at the factory after the cruise.

It’s Day 3 and we will be in Cabo in a few hours. Weather continues to be incredible. Sunny and warm. I would bet there are more than a few lobster-looking passengers by tomorrow morning. 🦞☀️

It is just before 7 AM and nearly 70 F.

Perfect weather for a peach tea smash out on the balcony. Better order two. They go down easy.

  6. Just off Regal last week during the Superbowl and Valentine's day. No theme nights that I noticed. They recognized those nights, but no theme. They had dress up night a couple of times. That is a good time for picture taking. I remember the dinning room having lobster on night six . The lobster was better than previous cruises. All the fish was too.

  7.   If you love being out on a nice sandy beach, it is definitely worth the walk. If it is getting difficult to make that walk and back like this old timer, the pool deck is just as good. Our last cruise, we easily found great chairs before noon. I was surprised how fast many return. After noon the pool deck fills up fast.

I need this info also. Golf carts or pedi-cabs would work for me too.

Anyone been there lately? Any info?

We stayed on the ship. We could pretty much see everything from the ship.  We were not going to stake out a spot on the beach so we enjoyed the ship top deck. I noticed that the sky lifts would stop ever now and then for slower passengers.  YouTube videos show many nice benches along the walk once you make it up the incline to the path to the beach.  We did not see many seats prior to that.  We decided that with our mobility, the effort to get there and back would not have been better than enjoying the pool deck on the ship, and not getting all tired out .  It rough getting old

It’s true. He rarely drinks anything else. No soda, no juice, no coffee, no water. When @drwbrt is at his house it is EXCLUSIVELY Woodford.

Here is a challenge for him. The Princess drink menu list  "Jack Daniels Frank Sinatra".  I was not able to find it on board. I really wanted to try it. Two separate bar tenders looked at me like I was crazy.  Also they have Zacapa 23 rum, and Remy Martin XO.  Try something new.

We got you!🍻🍹🍸🥃 We’ll be posting menus, pics, and ratings/reviews. The reviews of the first five drinks of the day will be more detailed than the last 10 🥴. If you have a specific drink you want reviewed, I’ll get it early. We’ll post a lot here, as you can see, but there will be more pics on IG, just search the SVB from the profile pic.

See what you think about the Peach Tea Smash. It has Woodford Princess private label Bourbon.  It is a refreshing drink. But if it is too sweet, for you, call out that same Bourbon in an old fashioned without the cherries. Got them at Crooners.

  12. Last time I bought alcohol at a port, they held it until the end of the cruise when I boarded. Never again.

My advice for a wine drinker is to get the premier package. Those $18.00 to $20.00 dollar glasses of wine were so good. Why mess around? Live it up.

You could also just type their name in Google search and see if any results appear.

Yes some people do rave about their PVP but like you I use a TA. It seems though those PVPs were established in the day before the outsourcing. As I mentioned my newly appointed PVP is in the Philippines and I doubt he knows as much about Princess as most people on here. I'm getting turned off by my current TA as he never offers any better prices or incentives than I can get myself so I was just going to start doing all booking myself online.

Travel agents will soon be a thing of the past when us old timers (pre-internet) get to old to travel. Kind of like a paper road map.

  14. We did stargazing on an Alaska cruise on the Emerald pre pandemic. It took place on the highest deck late at night .   It was very lackluster for me as the speaker/guide didn't seem to really know that much . She pointed out a few constellations and went on and on about their detailed Greek mythology stories that they were named after.  Maybe I just expected more.

Like I said, I understand the need, but don't agree with the procedures and feel being disembarked that early was pointless once I was outside the terminal and mixed with everyone else.  I even had to request a mask and did wear it until we got to our hotel room in Houston to try to protect others.

Also, even when trying to contain an outbreak, to be required to walk that far around the outside of the terminal in the cold was unacceptable.  One of the people with Covid was in a wheelchair, but the other one and I were not.  Perhaps I could have requested it.  I did tell one of my "escorts" that I needed to rest, but he just urged me on.

Just kind of wondering how you knew those other people had COVID?. I know how cold it was, and how far that walk is. I am surprised you found a place to sit outside. There is very few places to rest and catch your breath.

Checked in weeks ago, today was the day We were meant to access our QR. Codes for boarding. Have done this several times since Medallion was introduced. This time, app would only let me access mine..nothing for husband. Phoned Ocean Ready. Rep told me that we only needed one QR code as we are in the same cabin. That didn’t ring true at all. Phoned travel agent who said we needed a QR code each. She explained what we had to do, log out of my name, log in again with booking number rather than name…both QR codes appeared..not too difficult, even for a technophobe like me…..We have previously just boarded by showing passports, but being a long way from home, felt the need to have everything that was recommended. Why can’t call centre staff be trained to help rather than give incorrect information ?

At least you must have been able to understand them.  I called back the third time before I could understand them, and then got the wrong information.  It is frustrating.

Feb 1st was the original date. Princess has postponed shutting down the old app. I'm pretty sure that YouTuber reported Feb 1 when that was the date and then reported it had changed when it changed. I know she isn't always accurate but in this case, she was reporting what Princess said. So I'll give her a break. 😄 This time. 🤣

Anyway, this stuff with the app drives me crazy as a Software Engineer. The way these things should work is that there is a database on the backend and then the frontend -- both the web and the app -- calls an API to retrieve that data. If it's set up like that, every client on the front end -- web, new app, old app -- would always show the same thing because it's the same data from the same source.

However, Princess' system does have to interact with POLAR the booking system that TAs use. That complicates things a bit, especially if they aren't kept in sync simultaneously. I know people have reported that sometimes if you wait a few hours, the right data appears so maybe they only sync the two systems periodically instead of at the time data changes.

That said, it seems to me that they do a particularly bad job. It makes me wonder what is going on back there where the bits & bytes are stored. I bet it isn't pretty. 😉

And don't forget about the acceptance test.  After acceptance, all glitches fixed cost extra money.

  18. You will enjoy your cruise.  It is a great time with your wife, and you get to do many things you do not get the chance to do in your normal hard working everyday life. You unpack your luggage one time and wake up in a different place with a million dollar view.

Now that you got them ordered, keep us up to date when they ship and arrive.           GBR
