Well. It happened. I walked out of the 80’s rock and glow and I heard it… “Mr. S?”…. My genitals retracted into my body as I saw a kid from my sixth period. Lovely. Just lovely.

This brings back memories. This has happened to us several times - in Jamaica, in Disneyworld and once on a cruise.   Makes me happy I am retired and can now vacation when kids are in school.

  2. I booked my upcoming Magic cruise with a casino offer- free play, dou everywhere, etc.. My pvp checked my dd's account to see if she had anything - she got dou in casino, less free play, etc.  She asked if my dh was sailing, as he also had an offer.  He wasn't, but she said she would have given him same offer as dd.  That would have been 3 offers for 1 cabin.  We all literally get casino offer emails everyday from CCL for all 3 of us - and dh hasn't sailed with them for 2 years.  Maybe we just have a great pvp.

  3. Safe travels.  Looking forward to your review.  AA has been not so good to us on our last few flights NY-MIA or MIA to NY.  Besides a 3 hour delay last trip they kept changing the gate on us.  We all looked like a scene from a movie (think it was Airplane) where the passengers kept running to different gates as we all kept getting text notifications about the gate changes- 3 of them.  And if you know MIA that airport it is huge. We ended up boarding at the original gate we were scheduled from - lol.

I have a feeling your post is at least half in jest, but to be accurate it is not the entire 9 months that a pregnant woman can sail on Carnival (or any other cruise line). They all have a cutoff. I believe it is the last trimester, but I could be wrong. If that is not the cutoff, I am sure someone will correct me.

It was in jest - but just in case I looked it up, and here is the pregnancy policy from Carnival:  (and you can get a lot of cruise days in 6 months!)

Therefore, any Guest who has entered, or who will at any time during the cruise enter, the 24th week of estimated gestational age in her pregnancy, agrees not to book a cruise or board the ship.

Due to limitations of medical care, both on board and in various ports of call, women who have entered or exceeded their 24th week of pregnancy, at any time during the cruise, will not be allowed to board or sail with the ship. Accordingly, I hereby acknowledge and agree that I will not enter my 24th week of pregnancy before or at any time during my cruise. I understand and agree that any pregnant woman who tries to board the vessel, who has or will enter her 24th week of estimated fetal gestational age at any time during the cruise, risks denial of boarding and/or disembarkation without compensation or refund.

I've never booked so many rooms at once. Normally it's just my wife, kids and myself and it's easy to book online. I'll be booking 6 or 7 rooms in the coming days for a Carnival cruise and I want to make sure we're as close together as possible. I've already located the deck and room numbers that I believe work best. I'm concerned that booking them separately could result in price changes or other unwanted changes down the line.

    • Should I call and book directly though Carnival? Do they have access to buckets of rooms that don't appear online?
    • I would call Carnival directly.  If you do not have a pvp whoever answers phone can help you.  My pvp always has access to cabins that do not appear online.  Maybe look to see what cabins you may want before calling Carnival.  We also always have a cabin number/numbers we want to book in mind beforehand.
    • What about booking through somewhere like Costco for the extra incentives? Can they hand such large bookings on the phone? I can't help you with this as we always book directly with CCL.
    • Will I be able to see all reservations under my account, even for the rooms I'm obviously not in? Or will everyone need to create a Carnival account? (Or perhaps both options?)
    • You can link the cabins to your account - however, unless you want to pay their sail and sign accounts I would have each cabin creat their own account.

    Thanks for any help!

  6. I remember the days when they did have lemonade/cookies for Plats/Diamonds at the terminals, but that was years ago.  Have never seen a private lounge for Diamonds on any ship - maybe it is something new?

Do you know by any chance if you have to make reservations for the zipline or that you could decide to do the zipline right there and then? I don't see the zipline under the available shore excursions for Amber Cove. And any idea of the prices? Thank you!

There is a hut where you can buy the zipline pass right at AC.  Last time we went it was $20 for an all-day pass, but I think I read somewhere it was up to $25 now.
