  1. We didn’t have the premium internet, but my husband was still able to read and answer emails. He did have difficulty accessing some of the other corporate site functions occasionally, but he would just try later. It was very slow, but useable. It might depend on what your needs are and how flexible you can be. Also, we only used it in the cabin and on the balcony, it’s possible that the signal is better elsewhere on the ship.
  2. I believe all the ships have a place that you can check your luggage, but the location may be different. I’ve seen the casino mentioned in the past. Hopefully, someone who has sailed the getaway can respond.
  3. We were on the 5/26 sailing and had almost identical times. Security and check in were a breeze. If you have carry on luggage, you can check it at Q Smokehouse on 6 forward on the right side, so you don’t have to carry it around with you and then pick it up when your room is ready. There was no line there either time.
  4. I just got off the Joy yesterday and there were a lot of scooters. I think most areas are easily accessible. Deck 17 overlooking the pool might be tough when they close the jogging track, as there is just a narrow walk between 2 rows of loungers, but I’m not sure I saw any other issues. Most passengers were very good about letting scooters have the elevator or right of way and staff was very helpful in parking the scooter or moving furniture to accommodate.
  5. I was on this cruise and agree about the entertainment. NCL always had the best entertainment and I’m not sure I would have booked if I had known about the changes in advance. We’ve never found the food on NCL as good as some other lines, but considered the quality entertainment a fair trade off. We still had fun, it’s Bermuda and the weather was great, but I’d have to think hard before booking again.
  6. We just got off the Joy this morning. We used the iPhone loophole all week on board and also to communicate with family back home. It was very convenient. Pictures won’t go through though.
  7. Did you happen to get a picture of the Day 7 MDR menu? I didn’t see it when I was rereading about your trip.
  8. Thanks again for doing this. I watched you dock this morning. I hope you had a wonderful cruise.
  9. According to the dailies @BirdTravels is Live posting, the Joy has both beginner times and Solo times.
  10. Could you tell me where the bag drop is? I was told it was outside of Q on a previous cruise.
  11. Have a wonderful cruise! Thank you for doing this. Your Live blogs are always so informative. We’re on the Joy the 26th, so this will really get us excited for out trip.
  12. Thank you for doing this Live blog. I enjoyed following your trip and found it very informative. Looking forward to my own trip even more now.
  13. Thank you for posting all the dailies. Very helpful. Do you know if the Starbucks machine is included with the Starbucks package?
  14. Cruise.nyc Choose Manhattan, parking, reserve parking, then choose the date & ship. Sorry, I can’t seem to add a link to the page.
  15. Thank you for this info. I wondered if they were getting into port very late. Since I’m guessing you’ve watched ships on the harbor a lot, can you tell me which side of the ship will pass the Statue of Liberty? I’m assuming port side? I’m wondering where we should position ourselves for sail away.
  16. @OrcaGirl had a live blog on the Epic last week. Page 5 dealt with her disembarkation in Civitavecchia and also the shuttle to the outer port. It sounds like it started shortly after 6:30 and went quickly for self carry. I’d suggest reading that.
  17. Looking forward to reading. We’ll be on the Joy in a couple of weeks. Enjoy your trip.
  18. Where did you find it on the Joy? I’ll be on next month.
  19. Thank you. The adjustable height would make it convenient for multiple uses. I’m not sure the top is wide enough, but maybe if I put a small pillow on top.
  20. I know this is an odd question, but if anyone is sailing in a club suite on the Joy in the next 6 weeks, could you please estimate the distance from the seat portion of the balcony chair to the floor? I need to elevate my legs and plan to bring a folding stool and don’t know what height to get. Also, if anyone has any recommendations for a folding stool, I would also appreciate that information. Thank you!
  21. Has anyone brought on a folding footstool? I’ve seen recommendations for inflatable ones, but that won’t work for me and I need to be able to elevate my feet. They come in a range of heights and I’m not sure what works best for a balcony chair.
