To try and close the loop on this Skagway question, I actually reached out to the Visitors Center this am and they just responded! Much like in @YVRteacher’s recap, they ended up in RRF, and needed to tender. This dock position was confirmed by the VC as the only one that requires it. Hopefully RRA sticks for both our dock assignments, and we can avoid that. and here is the link: https://www.skagway.org/sites/default/files/fileattachments/skagway_visitor_department/page/33137/2024_skagway_cruise_ship_schedule.pdf

RRA and RRF are both on the Railroad Dock where the rock slide occurred. There is a still a large rock that presents a danger that they've been unable to move, so no passengers are allowed to walk on the dock. So in the case of the Jewel, you dock at RRA (railroad aft), although it sounds like last week they took RRF (railroad forward). So you are docked, but you have to tender, since you can't walk on the deck. Tender to the marina, and then walk into town. Hope that helps, I'll be doing the same on 6/7.

Sailing in a H6 Stateroom on NCL Jewel late July
MohrPfun replied to mjcatlvr's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
But it does, it's on Deck 14, which is where the H6 cabins are located... The only thing the Jewel doesn't have is a dedicated Haven Restaurant & proper Lounge in the complex, which is why it uses Moderno and Cagney's for breakfasts & lunches. -

These Ladies resent the implication that they would ever be considered chair hogs, but are also very troubled that you may have just called them fat. -

Ha! 3 very different location and/or amounts, so very cruise critic, love it! Short answer=yes. -

Inspired by this thread, I decided to order ducks for our June sailing on the Jewel. I almost went with the standard pirates/sailors versions, but decided to mix it up with these lovely mermaids. -

NCL Jewel-Tokyo to Alaska live review (maybe...)
MohrPfun replied to natefish95's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
There isn't a live report with anyone on board at the moment that I'm aware of (Nate left in Seward, Yvonne starts in YVR on the 29th), but according to cruise mapper it looks like they got within 7 or 8 miles today before doing a 180 and back out. I'm curious if the shorex got cxld as that's what I have booked for my June sailing... -
Pre-Booking Excursions Less than $50
MohrPfun replied to JandC_Cruising's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
This is the right answer. When it’s classified as an excursion, it does apply it directly, here’s an example for our upcoming cruise on the Jewel: -
WOW. What an incredible report!!! Actually, all of yours that I've read so far. I'm doing the southern AK from Seward on 6/3 (my actual birthday, I love how you and Dad celebrate yours!) on the Jewel, so stumbled across your '22 report first. Then Mexico. Then back on the Jewel last May! As everyone else has said, you have a great writing style, and the care and love for your Dad is so beautiful to read. It also helps that you're hilarious, and I love all the details you include! I've literally spent all day (with several snack breaks) reading these, and then you sending me off into rabbit holes of research (especially the Aleutian Ballad/Bering Sea Crab Tour/Ketchikan and Yakutania Point/Skagway) which is the fun part of cruise planning. Here's an easy question, but one I've never seen answered: In the Stardust Theater they have Haven reserved seating, but is that available for Suite guests who have butler & concierge access as well? I would assume since suites get Haven breakfasts (Moderno's) & lunches (Cagney's), the answer must be yes. Is that where you and Dad usually sit? And if yes, is it just one section in the balcony, which another poster said wasn't ideal seating? It's such a minor part of the cruise, it's almost irrelevant, but I am curious. I also assume the suite classification is what's getting your invite letters to view the glaciers from the Haven's sun deck too? You also have the diamond latitudes though, which clearly drives many of your other perks (officers dinner, for example). Can't wait to read your next one, which I think will bring me up to last July on the Spirit!
