Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I see your post is from the end of march, so this may be a little too late, but have you tried with the helicopter companies directly in the ports of call you will be stopping? Looked at all of the helicopter excursion options, even the more expensive ones? The closer it gets to embarkation, the harder and more expensive it gets to book popular excursions such as helicopter ones. I guess it all depends on when your cruise is, what ports it will be calling on, and how many ships are in port at the same time filling up those excursions. It will be expensive for a family of 4 regardless, but the experience and memories of it will be priceless if your budget can afford. We’re booked for a helicopter/glacier/dog sledding one ourselves this June and glad we booked early. I see there is still some availability with one of the popular helicopter services depending when and where. I hope you already did, or will find an available option for your family to enjoy.
  2. Eeeeek!! That price does seem outlandish. I can't speak for your particular cruise @ sharon_pei. Maybe depends on the ship and when the cruise is sailing? Our excursion does specify Endicott Arm Fjord EN1-660 though and not Tracy Arm. Maybe that's the difference? I believe we actually paid around $290.00 per person for this excursion when we booked and now it's showing sold out for our June sailing.
  3. Although not with Carnival, I believe we are taking the similar/equivalent excursion with Princess to Endicott Arm and Dawes Glacier. Our ship will stop and let a smaller boat for the excursion tender up to the ship to board out in open water and then head into the Endicott Arm/Tracy Fjord area for the tour up the fjords and closer to the glaciers. Was pricey when we booked on a special with Princess, but I see has now gone up to $350.00/adult and is sold out for our particular cruise. Glad we booked when we did.
  4. We are taking one of these Helicopter/Glacier/Dog Sledding excursions when we stop in Juneau on our cruise in June. This has to be what my wife an I are most looking forward to on our cruise to Alaska. It is expensive, but may be our only time cruising to Alaska and do not want to have any regrets about what we should have done. Like most say, once in a lifetime experience. We did book through Princess and feel we got a pretty reasonable deal with one of their specials.
  5. Oh my, This is awesome! πŸ˜‚ Good entertainment to read during lunch. I too, find myself wondering what certain abbreviations mean and this one sucked me in. Now I know not to be a T'erd. πŸ™‚
