It was an evolving design. It evolved into balcony cabins on the Ruby.
Should have evolved faster.

Well, gee, that sure denigrates the point of the perk.
We really enjoyed Skywalkers every evening. We met a large group from CC there each night and had a blast. It was very full.
Exactly the reason why we stopped using the disembarkation lounge years ago. It was wide open and anyone walked in, the lounge is always packed with no where to sit.

I have aft pictures of both ships that show the difference. Hopefully this works (I've never tried to attach photos before)
Not sure why they didn't just install the regular windows in the first place on all the Grand Class ships. :(

The messages are telling me I need to sign up for their "professional" status now. Great!, I never figured my hobby would start to cost me, but if it's not too expensive, I'll go ahead and sign up cause I hate for my pics to be blocked. I'll check it out after work today to see what I can do. If no luck, I'll just switch to another photo-hosting site.

We had the same issues with Photobucket, you have to upgrade to the PRO account. Its like $40 for 2 years? ;)

Its a very easy process and there are several available during embarkation. :)

Funny that you mention that but we have noticed many of their ships lately have hull paint issues.
There was a time when they were out painting the hull all the time but we hardly ever see them on our cruises anymore.
When we were on the Emerald in 2010 we saw the Royal docked behind us in Barbados and the anchor/bow area looked horrid.
No excuse for this.

Many use princess transfers everyday and don't have an issue.
I agree with those that use them in ports with limited accessibility.
I would not use them in a port such as FLL. ;)
-
They could just close off the side of the ship they are refueling on during the refueling.
They do.

Have a blast, we love the CB and PR. :D

There used to be a guy named Andy (Andrew) who would monthly or bimonthly post reports of Captains and Cruise Directors. He stopped when he became a Deck Cadet (I think that is what it was called) on Princess or P&O. Not sure where he is now but I hope he is one of my Captains in the future. He truly loved the ships and the sea!
That was Andy Hogg.
He went to the CB 2-3 years ago. :)

Not really a problem. With the Bar Hop, you had all week (or all cruise) to complete the card. There was no contest to see who was "first".
I think I remember you telling us it had to be completed in 1 day!
Thought that was kind of suspect. :D

Sorry you had to change. :(
I was going to say that these cabins are great! :)

Its a great time to meet others.
On the Emerald it was packed every night it was held.
We had a group of about 10 of us that we would meet each night before dinner. :D

It's not anger. I get very sick from smoke so it does affect me negatively. It's not fair for someone to flaunt the rules and deliberately make me sick. Before the change, there was little I could do except keep my door closed and not go outside. Now, I should be able to enjoy my balcony. That's not anger; that's getting what I paid for. I have an equal right to enjoy my balcony now.
I agree Pam! Some may actually be ignorant of the rules and may not know. Not all are flaunting the rules and I don't think its fair that you label all that way.
You may be void of anger but I sense some that may enjoy the negitive interaction, whether it be directly with a passenger or through staff. ;)
I have stated my opinion and thats all I will say on the matter.
-
And it is even more unfair to make it the responsibility of the passengers. I would think the cruise lines depend on the cabin stewards to report any issues with smoking. I agree that it is an uncomfortable situation for them but it is part of their job. Many people have jobs that can lead them into an uncomfortable situations..it is what is.
Absolutley.
Seems that many enjoy the confrontation and thrive on it.
So much anger.
Its a pitty to be so stressed out when on vacation.
We don't smoke and don't get excited about smokers.

If I'm on my balcony and a neighbor smokes, affecting my enjoyment of the balcony, I'll be the first one on the phone reporting it. Let Security handle it from there. I would feel no guilt as I wouldn't be the one flaunting the policy.
Certainly your option too. :)

On vacation we would not spend time tattle taling on smokers.
This also could put passengers in a bad situation as well.
