  1. Wednesday was the second formal night in the MDR. The port was St. John’s. Very cute shopping area right at the pier. It was made of used shipping containers. Unique ! When at Canadian ports there are only select bars open. But at least there are bars open 🤡 We dined at Crown Grill again. With unlimited SD it would be nice to have more choices. We have been eating in SD since Sterling Steakhouse on Grand Princess in 2000.
  2. Sea day and Enchanted came alive. We have been spending our time at the Wakeview Bar. It quiet in relation to the two main pools and Seaview bar. Wakeview Bar is aft just in front of the infinity pool. Great view and under used. Dinner was at Sabatini’s. WARNING It is five courses. Only order three. The food is very good but way too much. Crooner’s again.
  3. Day three continued….. Having scouted the neighborhood near the port for place to have lobstah and coming up empty handed we opted to eat on board. The port is not much to see. I would not rush to book another cruise stopping in Boston. Just my opinion. The only reservation we could get at Rudy’s was at 5. It was half full?? We had eaten at Rudy’s twice in April. Rudy’s did not disappoint, Service and Food were very good. Back to Crooner’s after dinner. They need to work on the talent. Clocks move ahead one hour tonight. Tomorrow is a sea day,
  4. Not sure about Red Hook check-in. I always go from the airport to the pier and get in line. They don’t check that closely. Once on board go to the dining room. They will most likely accomodate you. Welcome to Princess. It is light years from Carnival.(I am Platinum on Carnival)
  5. Day 3 Already. Sailed Saturday from the Red Hook terminal in Brooklyn. Uber from Laguardia was $98 before tip. First time sailing from Brooklyn. Not as organized as other ports. Once aboard things were better. We were sailed Enchanted in April so it came back to us quickly. We are in Deluxe Balcony. Small ! And the bath is SMALL ! Our Steward, Andrew is spot on. Prior to arrival we upgraded to the new Premier package. A few bumps….we had made and paid for SD before the new package launched which required a visit to Guest Services to request a refund for meals now included in our package. What should be simple well……..still working on it. The drinks package works very beginning. No tax etc. or waiting which has been rumored on CC. We were able to make additional SD reservations prior without a problem. On board there is not much left. Night one we ate in the MDR. Food was disappointing. Went to Crooner’s after dinner for drinks and piano. The ship seems half full at best. Day two we dined at Crown Grill. The app. was showing no reservations available but the restaurant was not half full. I don’t know what game they are playing ?? The food and service were both excellent !! Back to Crooner’s after dinner. Day two breakfast was at the International on Deck 5. The best egg breakfast sandwiches. Fast. This morning breakfast was in the MDR. Eggs Benedict. Properly prepared. Arrived Boston 11am. Planned on dinner in Boston but may eat on the ship. More to come…….
  6. I am currently on Enchanted in Boston with my scooter. I have used a scooter for the past several cruises on multiple lines without incident. I always submit the form well in advance and also with the airline. Most passengers are very courteous. It makes my ability to get around much more enjoyable.
  7. We are flying to Laguardia Saturday and need to get to Princess Terminal at Brooklyn Pier. I travel with a folding scooter. Does anyone have experience with a scooter and Uber ?
  8. We are sailing on the 9/07 cruise. Sailed on Enchanted in April Eastern Caribbean and liked the ship. We will miss Take 5 Jazz as it has been converted to more Casino 😡 I have been cruising since 1998, my first cruise was on Princess. We hadn’t cruised Princess since 2006 until we decided to sail on Sky in December of 2022. We liked the Sky which led us to book Enchanted. In the years we were AWOL we cruised primarily Celebrity with a few MSC mixed in. This will be cruise #56 We were in a mini suite in April on Enchanted but opted for a Deluxe Balcony (Cat. DE) for this cruise. On the April cruise we upgraded to the “old” Premier beverage package. I was very happy to see the recent change to Premier. We have already upgraded and have made (more) SD reservations. The upgrade made sense as we lean toward SD over the MDR. We have mixed our reservations over the three. I love beef but did like Rudy’s. A few cruises ago I opted for a scooter as I can’t do long distances. It made a big difference and is no problem. Other PAX are very courteous. I will make an effort to post during the cruise. If you have any questions about Enchanted or ……… I will be happy to help. Until then - Captain Funtime out
  9. We booked our SD prior to the new plan. We did book additional after the change and had no problem with availability. Our new res. were booked at $0.00 We have a 16 nt. Hawaii booked for 2/25 and made more SD with no issues.
  10. We sail Enchanted on September 7th and have upgraded to the “new” Premier. I will post what I find.
  11. I began cruising in the mid 90’s. It was a different world. At the end of the cruise you would get envelopes in your cabin to present on the last evening in the dining room. There were no specialty restaurants. You got an envelope for your room steward, your waiter and his assistant and the maitre’d. I remember vividly that the only time you ever saw the maitre’d was on the last night when they visited your table to “collect” their envelopes. There was no mention of leaving tips for those “behind the scenes” that make your cruise special. Along came specialty restaurants for an extra fee that included gratuity. That was then. Quietly the cruise lines added their 18% to specialty restaurants. Today we are charged “gratuity” on everything. We are paying the wages of the crew. What a shift from when I began cruising. And now if you want an edible steat in the dining room you have to pay $20 or more. Face it…. they don’t pay that much for the steak. They mask their “burden” to us. Reduce Reduce Reduce Charge us more. I don’t know how you feel but I am beginning to squeal. Your comments ?
  12. We will be on the 4/6 voyage also. First cruises (25+ years ago) were on Princess then we ventured to Royal and Celebrity and MSC. Sailed on Sky in December of 22 and decided to alternate between Celebrity and Princess. We have a September Enchanted cruise from New York to East Coast and Canada and a 16 day Hawaii cruise on Ruby. Looking forward to Enchanted. See you at the Wakeview Bar ⚓️
  13. I have used Special Needs several times. They are less expensive than Scootaround. Scootaround requires you take their $$$ “insurance” You will find that most pax are very considerate.
  14. We are cruising on Enchanted Princess from Brooklyn on 9/07/2024 Any idea how much an Uber would be from LaGuardia ?
  15. I am looking for a service that will transport my Mobility Scooter (and myself) from the Ft. Lauderdale airport to Port Everglades. Any information would be helpful and appreciated.
  16. I am looking for a service that will ship my luggage TO Port Everglades for Enchanted voyage. We have used the service post cruise and would like to do the same pre cruise.
  17. The bag is many years old and still in mint condition. It says “Carnival Concierge Club”.
  18. We have air tags on the way. Amazon to the rescue 😎
  19. Reflection on 12/17 No Bag Did see both the light weight and heavier bags at the pool. Didn’t ask our Steward. We always pack a really nice on from a cruise long ago on Carnival (🤡)
  20. Got off Reflection on 12/17. Used luggage Valet for Delta non-stop to Detroit. We were charged the fee even though we get free bags on Delta. Received the tags. Put our bags out. One bag did not make it to Detroit. Baggage claim in Detroit said it shows checked. In in Fort Lauderdale. That was a month ago. Filed a claim upon arrival in Detroit. Filed a further form with Delta. Contacted Celebrity. So far not a peep. This was our second time using Luggage Valet. First time was perfect. First lost bag in 50+ cruises. It is no fun. TIP ! Put your name (info) INSIDE your bags. Make a list of the bags contents. The bag did have a bright yellow strap with our full name on it. Hopefully it will show up. One thing that can’t be replaced is our “journal” of all of our cruises. Will we use it again ? YES ! Lightning can’t strike twice. (CAN IT ?)
  21. Recently used it for our April Enchanted cruise. Painless and fast. I like it better than the “old” way.
  22. Been on 50+ cruises (Celebrity, Princess, RCCL, MSC….) I have never had a problem with leaving my tablet, iphone etc. in my pool bag while in the pool.
