  1. Our first “Specialty” experience was on Ocean Princess March 4th 2001.

It was the first night of Sterling Steak House. I think we were the only pax that night (Cruise Director at the table next to us.)

It was very good. The charge was $8/pp. we ate there all seven nights.

Fast forward to 2018. We were on MSC Seaside in January. The prices were crazy and the restaurants were not busy. Waiters were trying to up sell constantly everywhere all day and night.

I think they may have raised prices too high.

  2. Just off Seaside last week. We had the 800mb pkg. It shows your “balance” as you use it. At about 200 mb it starts asking if you want to add additional time in $11 increments.

Warning ! At about 11 pm on the final night they zero out your pkg.

We had over 150 mb remaining [emoji35]

  3. We sailed on Seaside’s 3rd cruise. January 6th. We were already booked for April and October but wanted to get away after the holidays.

The ship is very nice. Cabins are smaller but nicely decorated. Plenty of room for the 2 of us.

Food is subjective. Breakfast in the dining room was very good. Our dining room server and assistant were attentive and remembered our special requests.

We DID get bar service in the MDR. Never a problem getting service at any bar.

Were there flaws ? Yes. But it was a brand new ship. Nothing that was critical enough to dampen the good time.

Only 93 days and we will be back [emoji41]

  4. We are sailing this Friday, December 3rd on Seaside's maiden transatlantic voyage to Miami. Would love to meet up with other travelers on board. Currently in Trieste.

Sailing on Jan. 6th. PLEASE post all about the ship. Thanks

  5. I think they should create a cruise line “trusted cruiser” program that would allow frequent cruisers ( me 40 days away from #43) to opt out of the drill. Nothing new to cover and it would make the drills more manageable.
