  1. I have caps made for each cruise. I already have a Virgin cruise cap and they don't sail until 2020. It costs me $20 - $25 for a fitted embroidered cap. And you can have whatever you want on it. I will post pics. :D

  2. Comparing Carnival and Celebrity is like comparing Embassy Suites to the Four Seasons. Carnival delivers a good product. Celebrity delivers an excellent product. I will be on Carnival in January and Celebrity in April. The price is totally different. I cruise Carnival for value and Celebrity for a more upscale experience. I have been on many Carnival cruises (Platinum) and disagree that all it is is a drunk fest. Different demographic but a different price point. Try Carnival and have fun. :):)

  3. January 23rd I will be on Victory for the second time. Oddly I will be only a few cabins from my last cabin. I will be on Lido deck, Cabin 9294. It is a great location. Walk out of the cabin and the glass doors to the aft poor are right there. Ten steps from a bar and burgers and pizza. I haven't been on Carnival for a few years. Been cruising mostly on Celebrity and Disney. We love Celebrity but it is more expensive than Carnival. I am platinum so I don't have to worry about FTTF :) A cruise is what YOU make of it. Go into it with a positive attitude. Make lemonade with the lemons. Cruising continues to change (nickel and dime) but it is still my favorite getaway. Buy the booze package and it becomes an all-inclusive that floats. :):)

  4. I just paid the final for my January 23rd cruise yesterday. I started thinking about all the money Carnival Corp. (all the lines) has long before you sail. You make a substantial deposit at the time of booking and then pay in full months in advance. They have a LOT of $$$ to invest at no cost to them. I would love to know the amount. :):) I have a cruise in April on Allure so now I have the save $$$ for the final on that cruise. That and the "relief" they are realizing from $40 oil. Any thoughts ??

  5. If we could only find out how the "automatic" gratuities are parceled out. When you add up how much is collected each cruise you are talking a lot of money. Something in the back of my head doesn't trust the cruise lines. That being said, I tip the bartenders... even the omelete maker in the morning.:):)

  6. There is no advantage to using the cruise line transfer. I use a private service but have used taxis. Both are less expensive and faster than waiting for the "bus" to fill. I use Jiffy Jeff Transportation. Love it. Clean, large Mercedes vans. Great service.
