  1. Was on the Elation three weeks ago and the Dream last September. Had a great time on both, did not see anything wrong with the Elation and would sail on her again anytime. Now it does NOT have an outdoor theatre, the serenity area is smaller but nice, NO steakhouse but we don't usually eat there anyway. We are diamond members and normally take the seven day cruises so we go on the Dream a lot, but if the Elation had a seven day cruise, we would do it more often. Whatever you choose, hope you have a great cruise. Also, the crew was excellent on both ships.

  2. As a long time cruiser,85 overall with 41 on Carnival, we have never had a bad cruise. We are both retired and have never found a lot of difference between the lines. We do prefer Carnival because in my opinion they have the most courteous and helpful employees. I am sure there are some disagreements among some that had too much to drink. I have NEVER personally seen a fight. Having been on RCCL, Celebrity, Princess, Norwegian and several others, I feel certain there are a few instances, just as there would be at any happenings with 3-4 thousand people in attendance.Any major cruise line will provide a great experience, just go with an OPEN mind and not relying on someone elses opinion. Hope you have a great cruise.

  3. Just

Looking for something quiet and relaxing, somewhere that has a restaurant, don't need a lot of swim toys, just me and the wife, I am 72 celebrating our 50 th anniversary. We have done passion island several times as well as Chakanaab, so looking for somewhere a little different.

  4. I believe we were in 2267, if not it was very close.I remember it being very convenient, no noise problems at all. I do remember the room was very cool because I had heard there were problems with the air conditioning, our room was very cool and I like it COLD. if I remember it was directly below the serenity area as well. Hope you have a great cruise.

  5. the dream last year we were invited to brunch with the captain and his senior officers because we were diamond status with one other couple. It was at the first large table as you entered the dining room. I thought about not attending but it was actually very enjoyable getting some very interesting facts about their jobs on the ship.

  6. You are right, some people are so rude. Sevveral years ago we were returning to New Orleans when we foundout that the port of N.O. was closed because of a storm. The plan was to take us to Galveston and bus us back to N.O.. By the time we got to Galveston they had reopened N.O. We were given the option of. Getting off in Galveston or staying and cruise back to N.O. We stayed on the ship, got two extra days of the same food, same entertainment and same great service. Happened to walk by guest services where there were 50 to 60 people in line screaming and cussing. Thinking something was seriously wrong I asked what was going on. They were so upset because we were being charged two days of tips for the hard working crew. I remember telling my wife I hope I never get that cheap that I can afford to cruise but get upset at being charged an extra 25.00 for tips.

  7. 80+ cruises and almost almost all went well. Do remember one couple in their 70s or 80s. Very nice people but every night she would ask her husband what he wanted. He would say like a salad and fish, however when the waiter came, she would say he will have soup and chicken. Every night whatever he wanted she would order just the opposite, and he never complained. Very nice people that we enjoyed. Only once, we had tablemates from SouthCarolina, they came the first night and we never saw them again. We had a table of 8 to ourselves the rest of our cruise. That was our only bad experience.

  8. we are celebrating our 50th anniversary in Sept. On the dream, and I am looking for something unique to surprise my wife. this will be our 80th cruise, so we are experienced cruisers. however I need some help coming up with some ideas. Has anyone ever hired a ship's photographer to take some different pictures from the regular ones offered. If so, about how much do they charge. Any other suggestions for surprises will be appreciated. Thanks for any help.

  9. Thanks all. Our advice was to call her PVP ASAP, especially before the final payment is due, to be able to make an informed decision. His situation is still fairly critical and she has not left his side. We will share your input with her. I had not thought of contacting the insurance company directly since she booked thru Carnival and let them do the insurance as well.

  10. We are set to sail September 6 with a friend whose husband is currently in the hospital with serious complications from diabetes. He had surgery on his foot this week and had been told no weight on it for at least 4 months. Our final payments are due June 23. She does not want to cancel her cruise at this time, but wants to wait until the last minute to make that decision in hopes that she will not need to cancel. She does have the insurance purchased through Carnival when she booked. Can anyone give her advice on this situation. Will she have trouble getting a refund if she waits until the last minute to cancel if that becomes necessary? Thanks in advance for your help. She needs as much input as possible before June 23 to make her decision.

  11. We have sailed the Dream 5 times and love pasta bella. I don't believe they are open after lunch. There is no charge, but a suggestion. Try it the first or second day as most do not know about it at first. Glad you had a good cruise.

  12. Agree with above cruiser, Dancing in the street is fantastic, the Country show" 8 more seconds" was fair at best. I can't remember the name of the 3rd but it was good, not great. I don't see the big deal about Guy's burgers, I though the ones on the Dream were just as good, but everybody has a different taste. Hope you havea great time, we have been on 4 times and love the ship.
