  1. I bring a foam mattress topper king size. No problem. If traveling with my son I take king and fold in half on twin. I always take it when traveling with my husband who has a bad back. He can’t do the Kermit. So uncomfortable. Like a crap air mattress. We love our topper. We roll it up and put in a large duffel bag.

We are Diamond on Royal but we have done 3 MSC cruises and another booked for October. The first thing about MSC. If you booked them in the States it is so different cruising MSC in Europe. They deal with an entirely different clientele and, while we feel like strangers sometimes, as most of the passengers are European, we enjoyed those cruises. Their shows are well done and the cast of their shows, at least the women, are simply gorgeous.

Royal has been nickel and diming its passengers to death and continually taking away things that brought many of us to Royal in the first place. We still cruise with Rpyal but we are now exploring other options.

    Cheers

    Len

What nickel and diming on Royal??  You mean MSC where they charge for a zip line. Shows are all free.

hi I never sailed on a royal Caribbean ship however will be sailing on symphony of the seas this September. how does royal compare to msc?

in the meantime I am debating if i should book another royal cruise before trying in September. I was looking for Anthem of the seas from Southampton September 2024.

Any help please as I am confused.

MSC is horrible in so many ways. They don’t care is your trip was bad. They food is terrible, nothing like listening to 100 different languages to start a show. I can go on and on. There is no comparison, Royal is 1,000 times better.

Will the UL sticker mean it is ok or not?  When I had a fan taken (not exactly like the one I posted for a visual), I was under the impression no fans were allowed.  I was wondering if the rules had loosened.  Thank you for the response.

If the tag says it is UL certified it is allowed

  5. Just returned from wonder. Have been on 2 cruises on her both times never checked boarding times. Once inside they seat you in your times but never checked. Super quick. On board both times at 10:25. You do not need to print pass just have it on phone in wallet. Ordering drinks you need nothing before cabins are ready. Just tell them cabin number. Rooms are ready at 1:30 even though signs say 2. We walked off with luggage at 8:30 and in our car in 15 min. Boarding took 15-20 total as well. Super easy. You do not have to wait till your time. I promise.

  6. Let me start off by saying we just got off wonder, the best bed we have ever had on any royal ship. We always take a topper with us since they stopped using on ships. It was not sanitary. We have cruised all oasis class multiple times and wonder was the best sleep we have had. We did take our topper and I think we would have been ok without. We were in a regular ocean balcony room not a suite. We have left our toppers onboard but this time had no problem folding it up and putting in out big duffel bag.

Why would you tip your room steward extra for cleaning your room only once a day?

I agree. I just got off wonder and the room attendants do not come into your room on day 1. So we had our guy 6 times total for maybe 5 min every evening. I gave him $30 extra which is $5 a night plus what I already tipped. I really don’t think I would do again.

  8. Still need reservations for shows even if you have key. Don’t worry once you get on board all shows were open last week on wonder. You definitely do not need the key on oasis class ships. We boarded at 10:20 May 7th on wonder and 10:40 on Harmony in march. We cruise about 4 times plus a year. The key is not needed at all. Never checked times at check in and was super quick for everyone.

  9. I was on the sailing as well. We had UDP which was amazing. We never stepped foot in main dining room. Voices was amazing. My least favorite was ice show and intense aqua show. We have been on all oasis class multiple times and these two shows didn’t compare to the other ships. We saw the last voices show with the old cast and omg it was amazing, tap was good too. Effectors was ok. Not my thing. Great ship and great fun.

It varies by ship & sailing. No set in stone time like how check-in is 45 days out.

Some June cruises were able to book weeks ago. I’m still waiting for entertainment to open for my June 4th cruise on Wonder. 🤷‍♂️

30-60 days is a rough estimate.

Yes, 4 drinks per day with Diamond ($14 limit but that covers 95%+ of all drInks). And don’t forget unlimited use of the fancy coffee machine in the DL.

Your June 4th will open up tomorrow or Tues. it opens the first week of month before. All sailings will open up for June at the same time.

Hi! We are sailing on the Oasis in June and got the UDP, are we allowed to order more than one main entree at the specialty restaurants? And are the JR milkshakes included if we stop by for a snack? Thanks!

Only one entree allowed but multiple appetizers. Shakes are not part of UDP. They are included in drink package.

Call me CA-weird, but I have a problem taking a large piece of foam on a cruise, and leaving it for garbage in the room.  And, because of this:

old foam mattress pad needs to be processed in a specialized facility

Not trying to be judgey, it just doesn't settle well with me.

Every time our attendant is happy to take. We had one attendant who had his own but said he could sell it to many other workers. Lol

They told me that changing to all benches allowed them to get like 262 more people in the Aquatheater. (Don't quote me on the number but it was significantly more people)

Intense ... not much diving? Did you watch the show? Tons of diving! Compare it to OceanAria and it is like tons more diving than that one.

Intense refers to the women's heart rates during that show. Nonstop action.

Low diving. Just a bunch of dancing. Very talented woman just not a great show to me.

We had the WOW bands and loved them.  You can use them on multiple ships if they use them and so convenient.  You don't have to worry about carrying your card around to the pool, or wherever you might be.  You do still have to have the card to get on and off the ship but that's ok.  They used to be only $5.  Not sure how much they are now.

You still have to take them off for every drink. So basically it’s useless except your door. Nothing like a great watch tan too. Enjoy
