I'm sailing this Saturday, as well and got an email about it yesterday. I signed up for $9.99 per day and I'm glad to have it!

Excited to be sailing this Saturday on the CB. Instead of the soda package, I pre-purchased cans of soda through the Cruise Personalizer. Can I take those into the MDR to have with my meals? How about the buffet? Does it matter if it's cans or in a glass? Can I ask the waitstaff to get me a glass with ice? Just trying to get the ground rules down! TIA

Sailing Aug 18 on Caribbean Princess. Thinking of doing "Mountain Top, Magens Bay Beach & Vistas" tour, which runs from 1pm - 6pm. Sounds like a tour that has a little bit of everything in it. I would like to go up to Paradise Point also, after the tour, but wonder if it will stay open later, since our ship has a late arrival/departure time? Is Wednesday night a special night up there with a band? Would like to have a Bushwhacker and see the sunset!
Thanks.

Oooh, wish I had seen this one before booking! Thanks, will check before the next cruise.
I booked my cruise using a Carnival Barclay Mastercard that I got about 10 years ago on a cruise. I also have a Delta Skymiles AMX. Now I'm wondering which card I should use to book cruises? Which one gives a better benefit to me? Should I pay for the cruise with one and onboard charges with the other? Hmmmmmm!

I got an upsell offer today to go from inside to balcony! I was so excited - until I read that solo cruisers pay 200%. Already paying a premium. Can't see paying that much more. Ridiculous.

First time on Princess on August 18 sailing of CB. Price for my paid category has dropped $100. However, I have accepted an upgrade they sent me, from 1E to 1D. Can I call them to get $100 OBC? Can I and how do I take advantage of this?
Thanks for the help - appreciate the knowledge!

Today I purchased 100 shares of Carnival stock as part of my Roth IRA. With a $250 cabin credit for our 14 day cruise in January, that's a 4% tax free return right there!!
This is exactly what I did. I sail in a month and I bought at about $58 through a Roth IRA. Pulled up my trade confirmation & faxed to CCL. They had the $100 posted as OBC within minutes!!! I couldn't believe it happened that quickly. Since I sail solo, I'll take every advantage I can get!

I called Princess yesterday to inquire about the upgrade. No real reason was given for it, other than just a "shuffling" of cabins that occurs close to the sailing date. While it is a deck lower than my original deck, it's considered an upgrade because it's aft, rather than forward. I'm happy with it. Thanks to everyone for their help!

Just got an email of an upgrade from IE Inside Aloha deck A232, forward to ID Inside Baja deck, B744 aft. Sailing on Caribbean Princess in August. It' s one floor down, but I figure it's in the back now, rather than in the front, so it's less walking to the Terrace Pool and buffet and one floor closer to the dining rooms, casino, shops, etc. I'm first time with Princess and I'm pretty pleased........as long as I don't hear noise from the problematic propulsion system!

Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the quick response! I'm off to call my broker!

I'm thinking of buying CCL stock today, in hopes of using for my Princess cruise August 18:
1. The Shareholder Benefit page says this is good for applicable sailings through July 31, 2019. Do they normally extend this date yearly or for some other period of time? Should I assume this will be an ongoing benefit? If not, it's not worth it for 1 cruise.
2. If I purchase this stock by selling other items within my IRA and buying CCL stock within my IRA, does that qualify? Again, the Shareholder Benefit page says to provide "a current brokerage or nominee statement". So, I think this would be a "nominee statement"?
Thanks for the clarification!

Cruising in August on the Caribbean Princess. Scheduled hours in St. Thomas are 12:30pm - 10:00pm. Since most shore excursions will happen during the afternoon, what is there to do in the evening? Shopping, restaurants, bars, or shows? I've read that the shops closed around 5pm & I think it gets dark around 7pm. Any chance the shops will stay open later to accomodate our passengers?
Also - there are 5 ships in port that day, I think, but the other 4 don't stay so late. Does that make it really overcrowded to do any of these things in Charlotte Amalie?
What about safety?
Thanks for the help!

What you buy on board for $100, or multiples thereof, is definitely a FCD. I try to use the correct terminology where applicable on here as there are always newbies.
Thanks, because I am a newbie to this board and now, totally confused by all of this!

I booked Caribbean Princess a week ago Thurs and paid for it in full a week ago Fri. In the week since booking, I've seen the internet packages listed, 3 of them I think. However, since Thurs or Fri, I've only seen the 49.95 local calls to shore mentioned by myfuzzy. Ive been in and out of Cruise Personalizer several times doing other things, but the Internet packages haven't returned. Guess I'll have to call them about it? Weird.

First time on Princess and booked on the Caribbean. I'm trying to understand what drinks are included in the dining room, buffet, Steamers & Planks(not when you have to pay extra). Probably not going to buy any packages, they're not worth it for us. We drink a cup or two of coffee with breakfast, and a few sodas through the day, a,omg with bottled water that we put tea or lemonade packets in. . Is coffee included in these rooms with breakfast? What about water? Since I have not read good things about the fountain sodas, we would probably order a Coke package for the canned products and maybe some bottled water as well. Make sense? Thanks!

Are frozen cocktails included? I like frozen strawberry daiquiris or margaritas. Are all drinks at Alchemy included? How about Blue Iguana? I would prefer fruity, froo, froo drinks! Thanks.

I just read a co-worker's email from RCCL saying Allure will leave at 11:59, due to maintenance work that needs to be performed while in port this Sunday. So, yes, it's true. They also switched the itinerary around. Monday at sea, then Labadee, San Juan and St. Martin.

Going from All Star resort to MCO on ME. Disney said I should get there between 9:15-9:30am. I might try to catch the 9:30 Cortrans shuttle, but I don't know where it picks up at MCO. Hopefully, it's on B Side by the ME buses? If I decide to take Carnival shuttle, where does that pick up? Just trying to figure out logistics of getting from ME to other shuttle, schlepping 1 large piece of luggage! Sounds like Cortrans is the better & cheaper option. Thanks.
Can I take my can of soda into dinner in MDR?
