I had to be on Discovery Princess before I could see the menus for the MDR
-
I was on the Discovery Princess end of February and to my happy surprise the washers and dryers were free to use plus they had free laundry soap and dryer sheets
is this the new normal?

We carried our suitcases off at 7:30 a few weeks ago
we were at the airport by 8:25

We were on Discovery Princess end of February and the internet was the best of all of my 12 cruises

I was on the Discovery Princess 12 days ago and I was happily surprised to see washer and dryers were free plus they had free laundry soup and anti static dryer sheets

It's avaliable at the IC every morning arriving at 5 AM. They'll heat it for you in the microwave unlike the buffet where sometimes it's barely warm.
At the IC they had it under warming lights
I saw it on the buffet but thought no thanks

Discovered Monkey Bread at the Ic last week
addictively delicious tried to Google the recipe but no such luck
Does anyone love this bread and perhaps have the recipe?☺️

if they would have a nice sundae with some hot fudge, good whipped cream, decent vanilla ice cream and a few nuts it would be 10000x better.
I was on the DP last week and DH dragged me down to get a special dessert
I looked at the ones offered and thought ,”No thanks I’ll get my sugar fix from my 24k margaritas”
I did ask for a vanilla scoop with hot fudge, nuts and real whipped cream ❤️
The poor server almost died
Apparently this is asked for a lot but they don’t offer it
I had a vanilla scoop with Hershey chocolate sauce and it was nice
Dh had the salted caramel and liked it as well
But meh to the premium desserts choices right now
The free extremely slow internet was better 😳😆

The current soap and lotion don’t have much scent. The closest I have found to the original is Bath and Body Works eucalyptus and mint shower gel and lotion. I have taken it with me on cruises because it reminds me of the old lotion and shower gel.
Ohhh thank you I loved the old scent and last week on Discovery Princess found the new scent much milder
I’m so ordering the Bath and Bodywork’s version

Did you wear a mask during the cruise?
No mask didn’t see many of them at all during
if I had been showing symptoms I would have masked up or better yet isolated
I thought the mild sore throat yesterday was from the AC
Today’s deep hacking cough, 102.3 fever coupled with severe body aches had me testing positive

Once your off the ship, they’re not involved anymore.
I’d call your Dr and ask if you need to take anything.
Hope you’re better soon.
Thank you
phoning doctors tomorrow
I wasn’t sure if they were still tallying numbers
Cruise was great

No reason to contact Princess. It didn't impact your cruise.
I didn’t imply it did
I wasn’t sure if they are still tallying numbers

First time getting COVID
Woke up yesterday feeling slightly off with mild sore throat but blamed the AC
Off the ship at 7:30 home at 8 pm
woke up today and looking for the semi truck that ran me over
Test was positive
Do I contact Princess to let them know or is it just kinda expected like catching a cold or flu
Had a great cruise and now it makes sense the last sea day I was so tired and spent most of my day in stateroom watching Love Boat

Update to my question
we board the Discovery Princess Saturday and the man who took our checked luggage from us and put it on the trolley did it so fast and walked away before we could tip him
Clearly he wasn’t expecting to be tipped
it literally was a 16 sec interaction

Thank you Avalon for the passenger count. If you have a reason to be at the passenger service desk would you please ask what the passenger count is for the cruise beginning Saturday?
I’m on this cruise with DH

We board this Saturday as well it’s our first cruise since 2019 (Emerald)
We were on the Royal when it was full so expecting the same thing next week
Just looking forward to getting out of the wind, snow and cold

Our first cruise since COVID reared it’s nasty head
Last cruise was Emerald Princess 2019
i think we use to tip $5.00 per suitcase?
What is an appropriate tip 2023?
1 large suitcase, 1 carry-on
I will keep one carry - on with me with our documents, medication, etc, etc.

Going on our first cruise since Covid
It will be our 13 Princess cruise
Mexico out of LA Feb 25 7 day cruise
Discovery Princess
watching several you tube videos it appears that the first night dining in the MDR’s wasn’t great
should I make a reservation at a specialty restaurant the first night ?
Any updated menus available?
so looking forward to cruising again ❤️

Our Discovery Princess cruise end of Feb 23 we had to go to the service desk almost daily to have charges that we didn’t make taken off our account
There were usually other cruisers there doing the same thing
