1. Yep, it's stairs for me too and brisk walks around the Promenade deck. Yep, we must cruise together one day. Add in rdsgrl and Nina (Working to Cruise) and that ship wouldn't know what hit it. Do you have any cruises planned for 2012? I'm booked on the Crown but it's looking like that may get cancelled. I have a friend who is suppose to go with me but still isn't sure because of some issues.

I really can't wait to be able to book the new ship - Regal? I think for 2013. It will be nice to see a change in the layout of the ship. I wonder what Crooner's will be like on the new ship? Can't wait to check it out.

Nothing planned YET  but talk to me when we get off the CB in Nov, I am sure we will be planning something.:D

HA the three of us would be great on a cruise....we would have to warn the cruise ship before hand. :)

  2. Ok, I will accept the blame while wishing you a very, very enjoyable cruise. :D:D I must say on my cruise in April I swear someone snuck into our cabin, washed my clothes in hot water, and hung them back up! Even those brisk walks on the promenade deck everyday didn't seem to change that oddly snug feeling in my clothes I had by about day 4! I have to admit, though, I had a few hamburgers at the trident grill. I'm really not a hamburger or red meat eater in my everyday life. I really don't know what happens to me when I cross that threshold of a ship. I have to have those decadent drinks and a hamburger or two.

Ha I am right beside you there....I hardly ever take the elavators and try to walk briskly even up the many flights of stairs......

For me it is the pizza....Not sure what it is....I usually eat pizza once or twice a year at home ...never crave it or anything.....get me on a Princess ship and OMG!!!!! Ummm and yea nothing washed down a Princess Pizza as well as a 24 K Rita. YUM

Mr.Qt said last cruise if I was cut at all during a cruise my veins would bleed gooey cheese and pizza sauce

I wish you were on this cruise too but I know one day we will cruise together.,.....we won't remember much of it but the pictures will be good and our clothes can shrink together :)

  3. I'll have to remember to buy those cards on my next cruise. I'm with you, those Milky Way martinis are tasty.

I am so looking forward to trying these and the Nutty Coffees......that said, if my clothes shrink more then they usually do in the cruise closet over the 10 day cruise...I will hold you partly responible :D

    Love the menu :)

  4. Seriously, most of the cosmetics companies are owned by either L'Oreal or Estee Lauder :p

I'm a huge fan of Laura Mercier's oil-free primer from Sephora. Not sure what makes it work, but my makeup doesn't budge. Of course, I also use Urban Decay's All Nighter Spray.

Ohhhh How do you like the UB all nighter spray??? I am going to branch out and try other primers and a few people have mentioned LM oil free primer so it is on my gotta try list.

LOL Loreal owns the company *I* work for.....that said, I used Loreal drug store products like the Mascara and such way before Loreal bought us.

  5. I have extremely dry lips from working in a dry hospital setting. What lipstick/stain can people recommend that is long lasting and won't dry

me out more than I already am?

Ohhh Good luck finding a lip stain that won't dry your lips out......I have a serious addiction to Chapstick and Burts Bees wax usually find any lip stain is way too drying.

Burts Bees Wax has lip sticks but I hated the taste of them.

I have just started using Loreal Infallible Lip Gloss in the darker colors (they are pretty sheer) They give 6 hours of coverage, are not too glossy or gloppy, and seem not to be drying ...so far.

  6. Ducklite, Did you know that Lancome owns and produces L'Oreal? In a pinch you might want to try one of their mascaras. One of their formulas might be very similar to Definicils at half the price. Good luck:D

Loreal owns Lancome......and almost everything else under the sun :) Go on their website and check out how many companies they own, it's amazing.

I am a big fan of Loreal's Double Extend tube mascara, it coats each lash into a tube that washes off easily with warm water.

I have just been introduced to Urban Decay's brightening primer... I think I like it but have noticed my face breaking out ...which is usually unheard of.

    What makes a primer work???

  7. I can tell our luggage from a distance, even though it is black. But I work part time in a luggage store and identify luggage better than most, even the black stuff.

We do have handle wraps on some of our pieces and I use a strap on my red. It seems I have a harder time finding which red case is mine moreso than the black ones.

Everyone seems to tie ribbon on their cases any more, just make sure if you do you make it interesting.

We also sell colorful luggage tags in the store, some of them are really fun, like "Take my luggage, do my laundry".

OMG I love that tag :)

I tie a bright colored scarf around the top handle and some lugggae has Disneyland name tag holders that are beyond garish, I can see my luggage coming a mile away.

Yes red luggage is so popular.....I fly alot for work and learnt about 5 years ago to leave the red suitcase at home, unless I am driving.

  8. Dreams is so nice :) We were there this time last year and just loved it.

Lindo Mar resort is a little cautionous walk up the busy highway, we walked up there one day to look around, I would LOVE to stay here for a week or month but for the day Dreams can't be beat.

I would taxi into the Malecon walk around to explore abit then cab it to Dreams and spend the rest of the day being spoiled by the Dreams staff :)

Wouldn't be a CC thread if gomexico didn't show up spewing his ...ummm....two cents......er...1/2 cent

Water off of Victoria is disgusting compared to Puerto Vallarta.

  9. We are cruising in 2 weeks to PV and planning on going to the Dreams resort. Has anyone ever experienced jelly fish or stingrays there? How is the water there in March? Is there any areas around there to snorkel?

Jelly fish are uppredictable about when they come into the bay and we saw several manta rays at Dreams both of Dreams they ride the waves......They are more afraid of you then you them

My husband stepped on a sting ray in Nuevo last OCT and got a barb full of venom pumped into his foot..three anti venom shots later....remember to always shuffle your feet in the water. ..it was my husband's fault as he was running through the water to rescue me from whatver slimy thing had swam past my leg....I am such a sissy.

We have been t Dreams PV in late Feb last year and the water was wonderful :)

  10. I do not think gomexico has ever been to Vallarta but I can tell you that the water clarity will always be brownish at the mouth of the river in the rainy season.

On a side note, I have compared the water sample levels here are we are even better than most samples collected from Long Beach, California! (They often have to close beaches in California in the rainy season so DO NOT think this is a Mexico thing)

So, if you want to see some beaches, here are some recent photos:

This is Plya Conchas Chinas just south of the Romantic Zone, right by the Lindo Mar hotel: http://i.rentalo.com/images/Puerto-Vallarta-Villa-p7_232367_7205476l.jpg

This is also Conchas Chinas by Villa Celeste: http://www.gayguidevallarta.com/Lodging/Images/483_20071003161611_l_copy4.jpg

gomexico needs to chnage their name to don'tgomexico......

I would rather swim in the Banderas Bay then any part of California.

Nices Pics Bzy :) When we were at Dreams I fell in love with the little white house on the cliff nearest the old tower......Loved that house :)

  11. This guy is a riot, very talented and entertaining! He was a member of the beach boys and incorporates a lot of singing into his comedy. He is an excellent musician as well, and surprisingly he excels in Shadow finger puppetry. I've seen him several times, once when he was very jet lagged and he is my favorite!

He usually ends his act with an incredible shadow puppet play done to Bohemian Rhapsody, It is rolling on the floor funny!

I bought his DVD on board because I was so impressed!

We saw him twice on the Sapphire Jan 16-23 cruise and that finger puppeta act were rolling on the floor laughing :)

The other comedian was Carlos Oscar (might have the names reversed) and he was one of the funniest acts I have ever seen and not one swear word :0

  12. And you know I will be doing just that. However, we will only have the one day turnaround in Sydney and I wanted to head for Paddy's Market. You think I can find them there?

I asked my friend living in Sdyney about them and here are some directions she posted I will ask her about Paddy's Market

Ok I have found a Woolworths at Town Hall. She can catch a train at Circular Quay to Townhall railway station and then the Woolworths is directly opposite the station. It's like a 5 mins train trip. They also have Taxis at CQ.

This is a two level supermarket and it would have all kinds of Tim Tams and other foods.

I have also found that Tim Tams are being marketed in USA in Target under the name Pepperidge Farm. They are Tim Tams though

  13. Picture me showing a pouty face! Every ice cream store here also uses crushed Oreos as a topping. Oh, well. I twist my Oreo in half, scrape off the creme filling with my lower teeth, and plunge the dark chocolate halves into ice-cold milk. It's what we do! Not sure what else I could tempt you with, except the totally obnoxious "Snuggi"!!

That is how I eat Oreos too....anyway else seems wrong :D

darn it, now I am craving Oreos and milk:p

  14. Eileen, during your visit, you must sample our nation's (probably national) most delicious cookie - the OREO! Do you have them there?

I don't think Oreos are in the same league as Tim Tams...don't get me wrong about once a year I buy a package of Oreos but Tims are better. That said,I am sure Oreos are Canada's no.1 selling cookie as well

  15. Why, why? why did you tell me they were in Target at $2.50?

OMG! they ARE good! Am staying away from Target for a while. I guess the four boxes I bought should last me at least a couple days>> LOL

    \

Those boxes will be gone by tomorrow....don't have to tell you how *I* know this....let's just say they didn't last in my house...

oh and those Tim Tams bought yesterday??? GONE

  16. I am at a loss to answer that one Pia. I grew up in Sydney and my first job was in Central right near Paddy's Market. Consequently I used to go there every Friday at lunch time. It was old and dirty and had so much character and everything was soooo cheap. I look back now and realise that there was a hell of a lot of junk for sale too. But when you are young........ :)

They have moved Paddy's Markets in recent years and as I left Sydney 22 years ago I have never been to the new one. As a result I don't know what is close by or what they actually do sell in Paddy's anymore. Maybe someone else from Sydney could answer this????

No' date=' we definitely call them biscuits. Although a bit of your Americanisms are starting to creep into our language too. I don't think we will ever call them cookies though.[/quote']

I have a friend who lives in Sydney I can ask her :) Just bought another package of the caramel ones yesterday...YUM

  17. With only 8 in the package, sounds like you'll be finishing it tonight.

Remember that package that I bought a few days ago and a few were consumed on the drive home??? Well the rest of gthe package was safely hidden..oops...I meant to say

..stashed away in secure location......I went to *just look* at them last night with my cup of Hot Chocolate.......they were EMPTY!!!! but *I* didn't eat them.....

Now I am casting hostile accusing glares towards my dh and our sons.....

  18. Maybe it's another case of big organisations dictating terms again

Me' date=' I could eat easter eggs all year round, but no, they take them off the shelves after Easter - how wrong is that!!!!![/quote']

Well now that depends....are we talking Cadbury Easter eggs filled with chocoate with a cruncy candy shell (YUM They should stay) or those horrid candy eggs filled with a marshmallow type suger fluff that tends to get really stale, really fast...(those should go)

I am hoping the the Arnetts Tim Tams stay here in Canada...we have had them for about a year now.:)

  19.
It's those darned cookie leprechauns -- I think they're related to the gin leprechauns that have been at my liquor supply . . .
LOL I got the gin leprechaun's cousin, the wine leprechaun living at my house......as I tell my husband we are getting our tolarance built up for the next cruise

Those Tim Tams don't last very long do they??? That package I smuggled in the house today only has half a pack left!!!! Clearly Canada needs a jumbo pack:D
  20. Sigh........I was being so good after my vacation.....so good....Tim Tams were on sale at our local grocery store and I held off ...till today.....funny thing was is that we live three blocks from the grocery store and yet the Caramel Tim Tams package were missing two cookies by the time I got home
