  1. For the sake of the others spending $70+ on a nice meal please don't bring your child.

Not all children are horrible little monsters you know (or even slightly misbehaved or rowdy). Some (in fact, I would say most) are very well behaved. I wouldn't mind if someone brought their well behaved child to the steakhouse but unless your child likes steak, not sure if they'd enjoy it. Not sure if they have a kid's menu or not. They may have things like some kind of pasta or chicken that a kid might like but again, I'm not sure.

  2. I have the same app you do and am also keeping an eye on Vista while she's at sea. It looked like a busy day today!! Any idea about what tests/trials they did today?

I hope you have a great time on the Inaugural Voyage!! I went on an Inaugural once (on the Oasis of the Seas) and it was a blast!! :D So much fun and so awesome being among the 1st passengers on a ship.

I can't wait till October 21st (which is when I'm sailing on Vista)!! :D We're doing the 13 Day Transatlantic from Barcelona to New York.

  3. I just carried on a large bottle of vanilla creamer on my Carnival Paradise cruise in February and had no issues what so ever.

Did the Security people shake the bottle and/or open it and smell and/or taste it to make sure it really was creamer and not alcohol of some kind? Just curious!!

  4. I have to agree with MickeyChicky, this is a HIGHLY entertaining thread!! :D These are my 2 favourite posts from it, absolutely hilarious!! :D

If you replace wine with booze and recork it then put a shrink sleeve around the neck of the bottle. You will have booze in a wine bottle that has been recorked with a shrink sleeve around the neck of the bottle.:D

Sorry I just could not help myself.

Okay, I've been reading a lot of smuggling threads lately. Just curious, of course. Nothing I would ever do. I wouldn't even consider such a thing. Nope.

However, my opinion based on my research is that no matter what you do or how you do it, check it carry it wax it poke holes in it and refill or cover it with Tampons...getting it to your cabin is gonna be hit or miss depending on lots of factors including how long the line is, whether or not the x-ray examiner has a happy love life or a multitude of other factors.

    Am I right??

  5. I'm pretty sure (although not 100% positive) that you'd have to buy the Premium Internet Plan for this (it allows access to all websites and apps, not just social media websites/apps). You can't get to YouTube on the Social Plan (which is only for social media sites/apps such as Facebook). I'm not sure how much per day the Premium Plan is but I'm sure someone on here knows. The Social Media Plan is $5 per day.

  6. I believe that it is illegal to leave port before muster drill is finished. Just like a plane cannot take off til safety briefing.

Nope, leaving port before (or during) sail away isn't illegal. They have to have it within 24 hours of sailing. At least, that's how it used to be. Not sure if that law was changed after what happened to the Concordia.

  7. The perk is really the room itself!

This is SO true!! :D I've been lucky enough to have a suite on 3 of my cruises (well, 4 technically, once on Pride, once on Freedom, and once on my B2B on Imagination). Suites are awesome (whirlpool bathtub, dressing area outside of the bathroom, huge balcony, more counter space, etc)!! :D I really hope I get to sail in one again sometime.

  8. Just wondering, how long do they keep a gift around (meaning how long will they hand out duffel bags then packing cubes)? I'm sailing on the Vista in October (on the Transatlantic from Barcelona to New York) and would love one of these packing cubes, they look great!! :D Will they still be around by then? It's good they'll have moved on from the duffel bags by then (I hope). I do love them but Mom and I just went on a B2B on the Breeze and we're both Platinum so we have 4 of them. I don't think we need any more, haha.

  9. There were a number of cabins on deck 6 that were removed last year when they expanded the Havana area, but they didn't renumber the cabins at that time. They've since renumbered the cabins so there's not a gap. That most likely explains it

Ah, that solves the mystery!! I do remember that they removed some cabins when they expanded the Havana area (to include the cabin we're in and the few beside it, YAY!! :D ) but never even thought about what happened to the numbers assigned to those cabins. What you've said makes perfect sense. Thanks!! :D

  10. You should be ok. The only bumping being done are from cabins with a higher capacity (for instance if you booked 2 guests in a cabin for 4) or if you booked a modified cabin and Carnival needs it for a true handicapped guest.

Ok, I feel better now. Thanks!! :D

One strange thing did happen with our cabin (and neither us or our TA heard about it from Carnival, I found out when I was checking our booking on Carnival's website after reading this thread). We're still booked in the same cabin, in the same location, and the same category but our cabin number changed. It was cabin 6475 (or close to that, don't remember the exact number offhand), now it's cabin 6467. It is exactly the same cabin, just a different cabin number. Why would that happen? I've never seen or heard of that happening before and I just thought it was weird. I have sailed on a new ship before (was on the Maiden Voyage of the Oasis of the Seas) and nothing strange like this happened then.

Or the cabin you orginal booked for the correct number of people has now been changed to accommodating a different number of persons (lower number from 4 to 3 or 3 to 2) or has been changed into a modified cabin, again 3 to 2 people). It's to do with the number of people allocated to lifeboats and fitting beds/couches into room size, now they can see what the finished cabins look like.

Nope, I think we're good there!! :D It was a 2 person cabin when we booked and it's still a 2 person cabin. Shouldn't be a problem since there are only 2 of us cruising.

  11. Yes they do!!!! :D I was just on a B2B on the Breeze and went to the Platinum/Diamond party on both cruises. At both parties, they showed all the ships and people cheered for the ones they were on, it was fun!! :D They also had tons of drinks being carried around (or you could go to the bar and get whatever you wanted) and lots of different appetizers. I really enjoyed both parties.

There is no longer cheering for ships that you've been on at the parties. They have a couple games going on such as guessing ships from photos, guessing how many of certain items are in a bowl, etc.

Yes there is!! See my earlier post (quoted above yours). They had the games you described at our parties as well, people seemed to be enjoying them. :D

  12. Bravo Avril!

Agreed Avril. It seems some folks just can't help themselves.

I thought it was a cool video.

Thank You both!!!! :D I just think it's sad that it needed to be said. Some people just, sigh, I don't even know what to say about some people. They just seem to think that if they're seen, had, or experienced something then everyone else has as well and therefore it's not the least bit interesting or exciting to anyone. Drives me crazy sometimes (and not in a good way)!!

By the way, I have seen automatic shades/blinds before and I still think they're cool!! :D

  13. They dont show the ships and have everyone cheer if you have been on it.

  14. I'm a bit worried now. I'm booked with my Mom in a Havana Aft Balcony cabin on Deck 6 for the Transatlantic. When we booked, it was just a regular aft balcony but has since been reclassified as Havana. :D We didn't have to pay any extra. I'm just worried that since it's now a higher category than what we booked and paid for, they might kick us out so they can resell it at the Havana price (which is quite a bit more than what we paid) or if someone calls wanting to book a Havana at the Havana price, they might kick us out (again, since we didn't pay for Havana). We booked quite awhile ago, it got reclassified a month or 2 after we booked, and we are both Platinum if any of that makes a difference. I just checked our booking and we are still in that cabin (for now). I would be so bummed, I've been looking forward to the private pool area and bar.

  15. One of the gifts the head office gave everybody in our dept for Christmas was a reusable cup with a lid/straw (similar to the one on the right in this picture) with our dept name on it.

If I bring it in, EMPTY, will I be allowed to take it past security? I really dislike the fact that Carnival has gone to these teensy little cups at the drink stations that barely hold enough for anything. I would, of course, do the more sanitary thing and fill the drink cup (from the drink station) up and use THAT to fill my reusable cup.

I've been wondering the same thing. I like to bring an insulated refillable coffee mug to use for my morning cup or 2 (keeps the coffee hot longer and it holds more than their mugs do). However, I remember reading here on CC abut someone bring an EMPTY coke bottle (or maybe it was a water bottle, can't remember) onboard on Embarkation Day and security throwing it out. I think that the security people understand the no bottles rule as meaning no bottles, doesn't matter if they're full or empty. Which is stupid IMO. The rule is there to prevent alcohol smuggling. Since the bottle was empty, the person was quite obviously not smuggling anything. I'm worried they might consider my mug to be a bottle and make me throw it out.

  16. Oh No!! I just checked my documents for the 1st part of our B2B that sails on Sunday. It seems like we have the same problem as everyone else. On our boarding passes, it has my Mom and my VIFP numbers but after them, just the N (we're both Platinum). We haven't bought transfers and are flying into Ft Lauderdale (then driving to Miami) the day before. Our luggage tags also seem to have a problem, they no longer say Priority, just our booking number and cabin number. I'm very happy I printed everything a few days ago when it all said what it should say!! :D Hopefully, we won't have a problem when we get to the cruise port (since our boarding passes and luggage tags say something other than what they would if I printed them now).

  17. EEEEKKKK!!!! :D I'm sailing on the Breeze next week (a week from this Sunday) for a 6 Day/8 Day B2B and reading all about the ship on this thread has gotten me even more excited (something I didn't think was possible)!! :D :D I'm looking forward to trying the American Table menu as I haven't yet but I'm not a picky eater and anything on a ship is better than at home so I'm sure it'll be great. I'm also looking forward to hanging out at the Red Frog Pub and the Piano Bar. The Red Frog Pub was on of my favourite spots to hang out last time I was on the Breeze and the Piano Bar is always great fun (so is the dance club)!! :D

Quick question for those who have been onboard recently (and please, let's not start one of those threads where people bicker and flame each other. In other words, please don't make this a smoking vs nonsmoking thread). Where are the public smoking areas onboard? The last time I was on the Breeze was 2013 so I can't remember. I know I can't smoke in my cabin or on my balcony but where are the public areas that allow smoking? Thanks!! :D

  18. Hey Bianca!!

I hope you're having (or had) a blast on the Pride!! :D I just wanted to say, thanks so much for doing this review. I loved it!! I'm doing the same cruise as you in 2 weeks (except that Mom and I added the 8 day cruise after it so we'll be onboard for a total of 14 days), I'm so excited and your review has made me even more excited (something I didn't think was possible)!! :D We've already reserved our spot at Mr Sanchos in Cozumel (the all inclusive package for $55) so it's great to hear it's worth it. What is the atmosphere there like? Is it a real party atmosphere? I'd like it even more if it was, lol. The only difference between our cruise and yours is that we're going to Falmouth in Jamaica instead of Montego Bay (well, that and we'll be on the ship for New Years). Unfortunately, I think I read somewhere that Matt (the Cruise Director) won't be on the Breeze when we sail so I'll have to wait until we sail on the Vista to get to meet him and find out for myself how awesome he is. :( I think Wee Jimmy (or something like that) will be our CD. Hopefully Orlando will still be onboard, he seems great as well. You seem like a really fun person and I hope to get to cruise with you sometime!! :D

  19. Hi MintChocolate!! Sorry to take over your thread but I just wanted to say hi. I'm going to be on the same cruise as you!! :D We board the ship on December 27th so we'll be waiting for you on the Lido Deck with a drink in hand!! I've been to St Maarten and St Thomas many times but never been to Antigua or Amber Cove, I'm looking forward to seeing new places!! I can answer 1 of your questions. I've been on New Years cruises (and been for the 1st week of January) a few times and I can tell you that we've never had bad weather or rough seas on any of them. And the Breeze is a big ship so it makes the motion a lot less noticeable. I think you'll be just fine!! If you do feel a bit queasy, you can buy SeaBands (they go on your wrists) and Bonine (chewable tablets) in the shops onboard. Both work great. I hope to get to meet you onboard sometime!! :D

  20. I'm wondering about Mr Sanchos as well. We will be there on December 31st, 2015 and since it's New Years Eve, we are hoping for a fun, party, atmosphere to get us ready for the NYE party on the ship (Carnival Breeze) later that night. I just looked on CruiseCal and there will be 4 other ships in port with us that day (Carnival Freedom, Celebrity Equinox, Grandeur of the Seas, and Vision of the Seas). What kind of atmosphere will there be (we are doing the AI) and what sort of things are there to do at the beach club? Will it be super busy (that would be a good thing)? I've heard some good things about it and can't wait to check it out myself!! :D
