Not much use to us on the FL West Coast

The transfer bus is usually right around the airport. I'd assume you could use the same wheelchair as you did from the plane and if not, I'm sure Princess know how to secure one. I'd just make sure you put a note in the booking that you need a wheelchair.
Thank you, that helps. We just had our first cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale using the assist after notifying Princess and it worked very well both going on and off the ship. I was concerned about how airport transfers could be managed and happy to see your reply. It's a learning process for us and we are very glad for any information we get here.

Everything is handled by Princess, pick up at the airport, transfer to the hotel, transfer to the pier. In our case pier transfers were at 1pm. Early boarding was not an option. Also the transfer stopped at the few hotels Princess was using. Hotels were high end. Pricing is per person. You can almost certainly find equivalent hotels and transfers at a lower cost. You should investigate both ways.
I am curious how it works if you have airport wheelchair assist to the luggage and then to the meeting point with Princess people. DH walks with a cane but is very slow and cannot walk far. How would we get to the transfer bus?

I really appreciate all answers and information, so helpful. I now feel more comfortable about navigating the system.
Thank you all.

Thank you all, very helpful. DH recently "graduated" from a rollator to just using a cane, but walking is a strain so any help is appreciated. We had a great wheelchair pusher at Ft. Lauderdale when getting off the ship, I was not sure what happens when getting off a plane. And yes, we tipped very generously.

I know about help getting on the plane, but how far will you be taken after getting off. To the luggage carousel or even out of the terminal? This is all new to us and want to be prepared.

wonder if the cruisers on Carnival Sunshine would feel the same to have an itinerary altered again?
Also the P&O Ship off Australia

Hope to book a cruise next year which ends in Boston, will I be able to use Luggage Direct?
-
DH uses a cane and we have requested wheelchair assistance for boarding and debarking to ease the transition.
Where would you meet the assistant with the wheelchair and how far would they take you when debarking?
TIA

Also, do you know which Dining Room is used for Club Class?

Thanks everyone. DH uses a cane or rollator and I was hoping to go to DR before room and then backtracking. I have requested wheelchair assist for boarding.

Which DR is used for Club Class Dining?

Have you heard how many passengers will be on the next sailing? Thanks.
I would also like to know how many passengers will be on the next sailing. Thanks.

I have read the new rules about plastic water bottles not allowed to bring on the ship (Nieuw Statendam). We will arrive by Cruise Connection bus in FLL, probably by 1 pm, our boarding time is posted for 3:20 pm, so no food until then.
We definitely will need to bring a snack, will we also be able to bring some bottled water to drink while we are waiting to board?
-
Thank you for all the reports of your cruise, I can't wait to go again myself. We will be on the 9 day Nieuw Statendam cruise leaving April 8. Can you tell me the cost of WiFi, just normal for emails? I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade to the Have it All package, we just received an email about that.

I was booked on a part of the World Cruise. We received the email where we could select a refund or take the FCC with 10% bonus. The date by which to make the selection was Nov. 18, I believe. I chose refund and the cruise still shows on the Personalizer, no refund yet. I believe that no refunds or credits will be processed and issued before that date.

I seem to have read some time ago that Guernsey is not accepting cruise ships this year to protect the islanders from the Covid-19.

Gratuities, tips, incentives go to those on contracts (room stewards, waiters, etc) with the cruise line. Officers and are not included. I once had "left over" foreign currency ( to local) heading home and could not find anyplace on board to leave as gratuity. Asked the officer at the gangway if he would do that and he steadfastly refused to touch the money (we did find a place at the airport...). He obviously didn't want it to be viewed as a gratuity/tip/incentive.
Princess used to have a globe shaped piggy bank on the desk at the purser's location where you could drop in unneeded foreign currency. I believe they donated those funds to a charitable organization.

Try using the UK reading of the date - 15 December (15/12) rather than US December 15 (12/15)
-
I believe that if you want to use the transfer through Princess you would have to adhere to their flight time recommendation. Can't answer your other question.

We had a FCD which would have expired this May. Our TA was able to have it applied to a cruise in October '22. I told her to tell HAL to either apply it or let it expire and refund to us and lose the booking.

Believe you have some options that include accepting the FCC + the FCC bonus, or requesting a refund. If my assumption is correct then if you request the refund believe you can ask for the FCD's to be refunded to you or placed back into you account. If you accept the FCC option + bonus (25%) then the FCD's are considered cash and are converted to $200 FCC + the bonus FCC which is probably $50 total.
Yes, that is my understanding. So now I just have to decide what our chances are to cruise before the converted FCC expire in May 2022. Thank you.

Princess cancelled the October 2021 TA I had booked using an FCD which will expire in March 2021. If I take the offer of an FCC with bonus to be used by May 2022, what will happen with the original FCD when it expires next March - convert to FCC? refund to credit card? I'm trying to understand my options. Thanks.
