  1. Thank you for your review. We are sailing on Liberty for Labor Day weekend. In our excursion listing there is a deep sea fishing trip listed but it is quite expensive. I'm sure you could arrange something better through Bimini Big Game Club down in Alicetown.
  2. We've been to Bimini many times and rented golf carts but have never arrived by Cruise Ship. We are sailing Carnival to Bimini soon and are wondering: Does the tram stop at the Resorts World Casino parking lot to let off passengers seeking to rent a cart? Do you need a reservation to rent a cart there? If you do, what rental company(ies) operate from that lot that you can reserve with? What does a cart cost for the day and is that with or without fuel included? Thanks in advance for any info! 😁
  3. I found the "flat iron steak" inedible when it was on the MDR menu years back. Always told people cruising with us everything else on the menu was good when I was asked for advice. If the "strip loin" (can't be a real USDA strip loin) is worse, I can't even begin to imagine how bad it is.
  4. Great news. I am not a wine connoisseur so a bottle of "House Red" is just fine with me. For those that are, the 50% off option is great as well. I can live with all of the other cutbacks. Not really a big deal IMHO except for the replacement of filet mignon with the sinew/gristle steak for Brunch.
  5. I wonder if they are going to take away the free cocktail at Brunch from the Platinum cruisers as well? Seems to be in line with everything else they are doing lately.
  6. So they offer the free bottle of wine, I book the Steakhouse the first night because of this and now they take it away "under cover of darkness". Typical bait and switch tactic. I'll be watching this thread for further confirmation. If it indeed turns out to be true (as it would seem) I'll just get a refund. Carnival's race to the bottom continues....
  7. IMHO Spirit class ships are the best. Adult pool actually IN the Serenity adult area What seems to me is the largest venue for The Punchliner Comedy Club of all the ships I've been on (even though Spirit class has a lower total capacity than all but Fantasy class ships). Unique funnel skylight location of the Steakhouse And best of all more space to guest ratio of any Carnival class ( I think. Lol.)
  8. Man, people are insensitive and insulting. She admitted it was her mistake..... but I'd be pretty upset if they took all that away from me by missing a deadline by a few days. Kind of a short sighted policy by Carnival to alienate a loyal customer like that. Wouldn't a late fee be in order (like every other industry)? I don't blame her one bit for moving on, there's other ships in da sea.
  9. I had done the same thing. Requested reimbursement through refund. I was promised a refund by Virgin and my travel agent within "5-7 business days". After not receiving after 2 weeks I filed a dispute with my credit card and miraculously Virgin refunded 2 weeks after that. I suggest anyone who is seeking a refund to do the same. Dispute the charge with your CC. Otherwise Virgin will be holding onto your money for as long as they want since they have proven that their promises are absolute garbage.
  10. So......yesterday Carnival clarified their testing protocols, again, to state that vaccinated travelers on Bahamas bound cruises 5 days or less indeed need a negative covid test to board. However, the Bahamas government website states that vaccinated travelers do not need a negative covid test to enter the country. In addition, Virgin Voyages continues to state that vaccinated travelers do not need a test to board their Bahamas bound cruises. Why the double standard?
  11. I guess I missed that. It's like boiling a frog starting with cold water. You don't notice until it's too late. Lol.
  12. Not comical, it's sad. About to embark on our first "Platinum" cruise in 30 days. Takes the lustre off a bit.
  13. Lol. My vacation time is too precious. I understand it's a gift. I'm not complaining. It's just not worth my time I could be spending elsewhere. Besides, be careful what you wish for. Next "gift" may likely me a sticker!
  14. Finally got my "5-7 day" refund after waiting over a month. Oh yeah, it took me disputing the charge with my cc to make it happen. Sorry Virgin, you really screwed the pooch with my first experience with your line. I'll be sticking with NCL and Carnival. Good luck, y'all!
  15. Koozies? Thanks for saving me a trip to the photo gallery. Lol.
  16. Reading between the lines here.....does this mean no more Dining Room lunch in any way shape or form? Sea day or not? Sailed Princess in February and all of the cut backs onboard were disheartening. Now it seems Carnival is following suit. So disappointing. I'd gladly pay a slightly higher fare for all of the "old" amenities on both lines.
  17. 26 days and still no refund on the "5-7 day" refund promise from Virgin for the cruise THEY canceled. I guess they are waiting for their July 30th deadline to pass before they start refunds despite the fact that I requested a refund nearly 4 weeks ago. Buyer beware....
  18. You can dispute the charge with your credit card before you are on the hook for payment. Most credit cards will issue you a conditional credit for the amount you are disputing.
  19. Well, they canceled my cruise, not me. They promised "5-7 days", not my made up window. Bottom line. They are not honoring the timeline they proposed. Oh, by the way, they also waited until AFTER canceling my sailing to run my credit card charge. It was supposed to be run a month earlier. I'll bite my tongue as to what that amounts to.
  20. 14 days and still no refund. Way to be dishonest with a new customer, Virgin.
  21. I was going to take the 200% FCC.......until I discovered that Virgin waited until AFTER they had canceled my March 2023 sailing to charge my credit card for the initial booking deposit. More than 30 days after they were supposed to charge me. I feel this is a total slimeball move and have lost all trust in them. Because of this I am now requesting a full refund. They say 5-7 days but after reading posts here that seems unlikely. I am anticipating having to take further action with my credit card company. Bravo, Virgin. Way to get off on the wrong foot with a new customer.
  22. Link in email doesn't work. Had to use the one early in this thread. Requested refund through link and loading icon spins into infinity. Gonna try getting the refund through my TA. If that doesn't work, I'm disputing the charge through my cc. Way too fishy for me. Something doesn't add up. BTW where did the guy go responding directly from Virgin on here?????????🤣
  23. I guess I'll wait a few days, then. Thanks! 😁
  24. Wading through all of Virgin's "gobbledygook" it appears that the line seems to be struggling to book the Caribbean bound itineraries that they already have sailing in 2022. Their solution seems to be to cancel the Resilient Lady bookings and try to entice those canceled to book the Miami voyages by dangling the carrot of a free Cruise if you book both in 2022. Summer is usually prime family time for traditional lines. Being adult only might be hurting their Summer traffic and fall is low season for all lines due to hurricane season in the Atlantic. I get it. They are in business to make money and adding another ship to the region whilst you are well under booking capacity with ships currently sailing makes bad business sense. I just don't understand why they would alienate new customers booked for the first 4 months of 2023 by not extending the offer just to those booked in '23 to book the comped cruise and rebook the canceled cruise by April 30th 2023. There can't be that many of us. Unfortunately, despite it being the "fair" thing to do, that's not the direction they are headed in. All this gives me a bad taste in my mouth. I'm requesting a refund and won't consider Virgin moving forward for a long time at minimum.
  25. Unfortunately your rates out of Miami are comparatively way more expensive than what I had booked out of San Juan. Doubling my deposit doesn't even make up for it. In addition, the ports available out of Miami are either ones we have sailed many, many times and/or are not to our liking. If we were offered what you are offering in '22 to those of us booked in '23 it would be a great deal. But since we booked early I guess we get penalized.
