  1. Very true. The difference is Carnival (and Princess by my experience) keeps cutting things and keeping prices level yet other lines, like NCL, are keeping the experience consistent and raising prices. Ultimately I'll opt for the latter.
  2. On ships without the Red Frog Pub, do they offer this at The Red Frog Rum bar or elsewhere?
  3. Launch now scheduled for Saturday. No worries for us but maybe some others....
  4. I would rather have well behaved dogs onboard over a lot of the unruly children (and adults for that matter) that I have witnessed!
  5. Guy's burgers are simply classic "smashburgers". If you don't know what that is, then you are probably not a burger aficionado. Unless you are getting a wagyu burger or a fancy gourmet burger from the gastropub on Princess or similar, IMHO it IS indeed the best burger at sea.
  6. Anyone embark or debark from Port Canaveral today (8/29)? The launch was scrubbed near to countdown so I'm wondering how bad traffic was getting to or leaving the Port. We are scheduled to embark on 9/2 and debark 9/5. Both are the other scheduled launch dates for Artemis. Lucky us. Lol.
  7. Princess (also a Carnival brand) allows for one person in a room of two people to purchase a drink package. If this is a deal breaker with Carnival just sail on Princess. Odd that only Princess does this across all the CCL brands.
  8. I will miss the Fantasy class vessels. Gaudy? Yes. But never seemed overcrowded and I don't need roller coasters. Newer Carnival ships are bigger, but have less ship to passenger space and seemed way too crowded when I sailed on them pre-pandemic. I'll be looking to Spirit class ships now, I guess.
  9. Cruiser "Wennfred" reported on the "Attestation and Steakhouse" thread.... "Was onboard Spirit 2 weeks ago and was told they no longer offer the Bottle of wine on the first night, but who knows, it changes every day with everything else." Does anyone recall what day John Heald proclaimed this to be untrue? I can't find his FB post stating so. I want to screenshot it and present it to the Steakhouse manager if they refuse to honor the offer.
  10. I thought John Heald said the rumors of this were untrue? Apparently not! What gives?
  11. Thanks! I will try mixing it in a portion of it and see how it tastes. Trying to be somewhat adventurous in my old age! With food anyways. Lol.
  12. How was the steak tartare? Thinking of being daring and trying it next week but the raw egg ( I know that's how it's served) kinda skeeves me out. Lol. Everything else looks divine. Thanks for sharing!
  13. We've done the comfort suites thing before. Works out as a bargain if you split it between 4 people.
  14. Check out: https://bahamascruiseexcursions.com/nassau-excursions/ They have a few different snorkeling excursions. We did the full day trip to Rose Island and the snorkeling(and food!) were really good. They picked us up right in front of the cruise terminal. Rose Island is beautiful and the coral heads offshore were in really good shape.
  15. I would suggest taking cabs in Bimini. $120 for a golf cart is outrageous.
  16. While golf carts are the best way to explore the island, $120 is just plain highway robbery imo. Cabs are still relatively inexpensive and last time we were there a cabbie took us from the ferry terminal in Alicetown all over the island grocery shopping and back to the ferry terminal for $20. A cab ride from the cruise pier to Alicetown (where everything is in walking distance) would be around 5-10 dollars. We will be using this option when we go in a few weeks.
  17. Thanks for the info. $120? Cabs it is. Lol.
  18. I'm fine with the pig patty bacon. Don't understand the mushroom elimination. Doesn't seem like a big ticket item. I will miss the fresh cut fries tho. I'm thinking it's a staffing issue rather than a supply line issue. Cutting and frying fresh potatoes would seem cheaper to me than buying processed fries but who knows?
  19. I concur with bguppies. Tram pickup is just behind the ship. Tram will take you to golf cart pickup. Getting around the island is super easy by Golf Cart. One main road north and south. At the southern tip of island (ship docks near Northern tip) is Alicetiwn and the small straw market, beautiful Radio Beach, food shacks, makeshift Beach bars, beautiful views, conch ceviche shacks, Big Game Club bars and restaurants, etc. We love Bimini!
  20. I discovered exactly the same thing and now use my Citi Double Cash for EVERYTHING!
  21. Thank you. I have heard it is the first stop of the tram. We have been to Bimini many times. If you have any questions, please ask me. I can answer on just about anything....except cart costs near the pier. Lol.
  22. Looks like we will be taking cabs. Lol.
