  1. From what I have seen it’s not that different from the Oasis class ( a lot of shifting things around) but at least they’re adding a dedicated suite space as there seems to be a lot of suites on this new ship. I wonder if they will make this space strictly for “suite guests” only as Celebrity has done due to space limitations in the Retreat?
  2. I think that it’s only available on the TA website. Not their general website.
  3. Agree. It looks as thought the Boardwalk area will truly be a family area on this class ship. I also agree that the suites or staterooms in this area will be geared more towards family. From the photos that I have seen it looks as though there will be a dedicated suites area located just behind the Aquadome. This is also Royal Caribbean and not Celebrity so one has to expect the major focus will be more towards family.
  4. I have taken this on four cruises this year. Two adapters as a matter of fact. https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Adapter-International-Worldwide-Converter/dp/B07S1Z44FL/ref=sr_1_30?crid=1IWV3MA6JUW2L&keywords=universal%2Btravel%2Badapter&qid=1666025065&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI0LjUzIiwicXNhIjoiNC41MSIsInFzcCI6IjQuNDAifQ%3D%3D&s=electronics&sprefix=Universal%2Btravel%2Celectronics%2C155&sr=1-30&th=1
  5. Thanks for the review. We will be on in December for the eight night itinerary. Easy drive for us though. We just returned home last week from two nights at Disneyland and the Navigator OTS. Both of us came home sick from the cruise.Tested negative two days in a row but had the exact same symptoms that we had in July when we had Covid. Very mild. I look at it as part of everyday life now. We just stay vaxed and boosted. Also, interesting that we had the same water temp issue on the NV. The water was either super cold or scalding hot and water was spraying all over the place. It was running out of the tub and soaked the floor. While showering, we could hear a “clunk” sound behind the wall and then came the scalding water. They replaced the entire faucet apparatus but it did not help. I’m sure whoever cruised after us had to deal with the issue. Glad that you had an overall nice time. We love the S class. One of our favorite ships and X is our favorite cruise line.
  6. I’m one of the ones that is sad to see these ships head to the scrap yards. I remember how excited I got when reading about each new Fantasy class ships interior Farcus design. Back in the day they were the talk of the cruise industry due to their interior design. I still remember the first time that I boarded the Fantasy just after she entered service. Nothing like her in the industry. The neon was everywhere but in a good way. It was fun. Hopefully the Elation and Paradise have a few good years left. RIP Ecstasy. You did good.
  7. Just debarked the Navigator on RCI. More crew members wore masks versus those without. When asked more felt comfortable wearing them. Don’t count on all crew to be maskless.
  8. The casino offers are getting more difficult due to ships booking up as is to be expected. We both received an offer for a JS in December. I glanced at the sailings but tossed it in the trash. We’re cruising on Celebrity at that time and none of the sailing appealed to us.
  9. Really wish that they would bring back Qsine in its original form. We really enjoyed the experience. Also miss Silk Harvest.
  10. We will be on board with you. We’re usually at the martini or World Class bar for pre dinner cocktail. 🙂
  11. One of our best cruises was on the Splendour out of Venice. Hated to see her leave the fleet. Great size ship. The only negative was the stateroom. We booked a GS and the noise from chairs and tables above on the pool deck/WJ was annoying but we dealt with it. Would happily do another smaller older ship.
  12. Glad that you enjoyed the EQ. Our favorite ship so far after thirty-six years of cruising. Great memories. We love the martini bar.
  13. I hope that this is true. I was a masker for two and a half years and followed the health guidelines but we have moved on. We are fully vaccinated and boosted. Glad to see that the cruise lines will allow crew members to be adults and make THEIR own decisions. It will be nice to actually see the smile behind the mask. I read that RCI has made the same decision. Kudos to both cruise lines.
  14. First, we love the S class. One of our favorite class of ships. As long as the ship is clean then we’re good to go. We don’t need shiny and new. We’re on one of the eight night cruises out of San Pedro in early December. Looking forward to it.
  15. I lived in Florida for over thirty years. During that time I personally experienced one hurricane and two tropical storms. The biggest issue was the loss of power for extended time. I know some storms have been bad and thankfully I did not deal with them. At least with tropical systems you usually have time to prepare including evacuation. The path of this storm has already shifted slightly west three times over the last day. Too soon to tell where he will go bit I agree this week will be port heavy in the eastern Caribbean.
  16. Please do not take it personal. There may have been an issue on board the ship but many of us have been around long enough to know this this firm will bring a lawsuit against a cruise line in a minute.
  17. I refuse to click on that site. I don’t believe half of what is posted on there.
  18. Agree 100%. A huge waste of space IMHO. The balconies are tight due to the oversized bathtubs.
  19. Haven’t taken a jacket on a cruise in twenty years. We dine in specialty restaurants on any formal or chic nights as they’re always casual.
  20. Celebrity is our favorite but still enjoy RCI. For entertainment the newer Oasis and Quantum class ships are very good. Celebrity’s new Edge class will be the best on Celebrity. Food is very subjective but we find it better on Celebrity’s food overall better but RCI does very well in their specialty dining. Again, our experience. Service is more polished on Celebrity but good on both lines. The big differences for us would be the announcements and smoking. Only one announcement daily on Celebrity and no smoking allowed anywhere inside of the ship. If you’re looking for a more relaxed cruise then Celebrity will be more of the right fit. You can’t go wrong with either ship.
  21. Regarding your comment on Carnival MDR is why we booked specialty dining. I have read recent comments on the Carnvial board. We also purchased the drink and internet packages. All were less expensive than RCI. We will try Shaq’s and Guys for lunch as I have heard the burgers are good. RCI’s WJ burgers leave a lot to be desired.
  22. This. People spend money on what they want. Why is it another persons business on how they spend their money?
  23. Then that’s something that has changed. We found the food on Carnival to be mediocre back then (MDR was good) unless you want burgers, pizza or ice cream. We booked specialty dining for all four nights. We will give them a try to see the current status of their product. We’re willing to,go,in with open minds.
  24. When we’re you last on Carnival and why the decision to not go back? I haven’t cruised with them in 18 years but they sent me a casino deal for a free balcony stateroom so we chose to try a four night out of Long Beach in January on the Radiance. I cruised on this ship when it was six months old as the Victory. I realize that the shorter cruises are usually more of a party cruise but we’re Interested to see what has changed with the brand. He!! has truly frozen over as I thought I would never cruise Carnival again.
