  1. Royal Caribbean had stated St Kitts has limited cruise ships to 700 passengers in order to call.

From (SKTA), Press Release: St. Kitts & Nevis today clarified that there are no capacity limitations on the number of passengers that can enter the Federation on a cruise ship during the current phased re-opening of the cruise tourism sector.

Minister of Tourism, Transport and Ports, the Honourable Lindsay F.P. Grant noted, “The cruise protocols for the resumption of cruise tourism do not place limits on the number of passengers allowed to enter the Federation on a cruise ship. The decision by Royal Caribbean for the Allure of the Seas not to make a port call in St. Kitts on their August 8, 2021 sailing was not because of the 700-cruise passenger maximum capacity per ship.”

St. Kitts & Nevis has been working with Royal Caribbean and all cruise line partners to facilitate the successful return of cruise tourism. The Federation looks forward to welcoming the Allure of the Seas and other cruise line vessels as the re-opening continues.

Hopefully RCI will return to St Kitts soon.

  2. We were moved from the Independence to the Odyssey.  We had booked a 2-BDR Grand and were worried because there we fewer 2BDRs on the Odyssey and thought we would be downgraded.  Instead when they reassigned us they put us in the Royal Loft Suite.  We were told prior to the final decision date.  The process takes time and goes in stages.  For us it was cabin moved first, but it took time for the original price to be manually applied (we got an invoice for ~$17,000 more than the original, which was then adjusted back down to the original price).

Sorry if this has been posted, but I did search and didn't see anything.

Do Quantum ships have Broadway shows like Oasis class?

If so, does snyone know what Odyssey will have. Looking at doing April 2023.

    Many thanks!

Hopefully now that she's launched we'll get an answer to this question.

  4. Originally when they changed our ship from the Independence to the Odyssey, they also changed Grand Cayman to Nassau [Falmouth, Labadee, & Nassau].  These ports were changed this week to Coco Cay, Costa Maya, and Cozumel.

To borrow a phrase someone used on a different blog, this may be the "new abnormal" for awhile. Our cruise isn't until mid-October so we wouldn't be surprised if more changes might be coming. As rajacks said, we're just ready to sail!

  5. Cozumel is now showing up in the cruise planner for the 10/17 Odyssey sailing. This has been an interesting ride. Not at all complaining, just interesting.  Change of ship (from Independence), Changes to POCs: First from Grand Cayman to Nassau; now from Nassau, Falmouth, & Labadee; to Coco Cay, Costa Maya, & Cozumel. I can't really say I'm surprised, we expected the restart would be bumpy.

Hi Ifox02.  We're on the same sailing (10/17).  Where/when did you get informed of the change? We haven't been notified of the changes.

Found the info.  So far the only spot the changes show up in the Cruise Planner (the marquee photos  still shows Labadee but the Cruise Planner shore excursion itinerary has the changes. However, Cozumel is not on the itinerary. Coco Cay and Costa May are the only POCs.

Yes, I've seen that site. It's not  the official website of the World Cruise Center of the Port of Los Angeles. I'd take what you see there with a grain of salt.

The links to parking information on both the official port website https://www.lawaterfront.org/cruise/cruise-faqs and from the official website of the port operator, Ports America, https://www.portsamerica.com/operations/cruise-los-angeles-terminal-schedule  take you to an inoperative page for the parking operator at cruisecenterparking.com .

The official websites give an 800 phone number, (800) 540-PARK . Perhaps you can call.

Even Parking Concepts' (the operator of the cruise parking lot) website does not currently list the lot in San Pedro. Could be related to the fact cruise departures won't start up again until August 21.

  8. One of the tips I’ve read for cruise parking in San Pedro is that a monthly parking permit costs $90 compared to the $20 daily rate. Unfortunately, I’ve been unable to discover where one can purchase the monthly permit.  Has anyone done this? Can these be purchased at the lot or must they be obtained before parking? Thanks for your help.
