  1. Looking forward to this too. So many reviews seem to be of Aqua class or suites, so will be good to hear your views on the MDR

Can you please see whether they still have the nice library area. It seems the other classes are ditching libraries in favour of a few poorly stocked bookshelves tucked away somewhere

  2. We did this on Millennium in January and found it a huge disappointment. Since others have enjoyed it maybe we just got unlucky, but I have coped below a comment I made on a previous thread......

We made the mistake of booking the Taj X dinner at Sushi on 5 - what a huge overpriced disappointment that was. Indian food is our favourite and we eat lots of it at home- and on ships. We found the choices pretty boring. The chicken tikka appetiser was so salty we couldn't eat it and the meat  Vindaloo was nothing like a Vindaloo - a thin gravy and not spicy enough. Service was awful, too few waiters serving too many guests. They had the gall to charge $59 plus 20% service for food which we could have picked up for free any day in the buffet. For that price I could have eaten at a 5* Indian restaurant in London

Am on Apex now, and my Elite + benefit on the sheet in the cabin says ‘up to 2 complimentary pressed items, one complimentary dry clean item, and 2 complimentary laundry bags of 30 items (wash, dry, fold.)’

Thank you. That's exactly what our sheet said on Millennium in January.

We put in several bags of laundry  - never actually reached the 30 limit, had some shirts and trousers pressed and a jacket dry cleaned

  4. I realise it's not quite the same but we sailed on Millennium earlier this year and had basic WiFi included with our booking. I had read on these boards not to log into either free mins or package first but couldn't remember which. I went to the Internet desk and a very helpful member of staff set up 2 logins, one using my free basic package and one my better included E+ minutes. I was able to switch between the two. The basic package was good for everything except sending and receiving images/videos on WhatsApp so I switched to my included mins for that.

How many items are allowed per bag?

It's actually 30 items (pair of socks count as one) , but that's a lot of laundry. Do be careful what you put in though. I had 2 items ruined on our recent cruise- pair of shorts shrunk and white top came back really grubby looking. Washing all goes in together and on a very hot wash

  6. We were just on Millennium and in Blu. Having sailed many times with Celebrity (only in M and S class) we found the Blu experience superior to the MDR, both in terms of food and definitely in terms of ambience. If you're a meat and veg kind of person you may prefer the MDR food but on those ships where the MDR galley is adjacent to Blu you can order from the MDR menu anyway - we certainly could on Millennium

  7. SHIP: Millennium

    REVOLUTIONIZED: ?

    CABIN #: 9122

    DECK #: 9

    CLASS: AQ2

AREA: Aft, just one floor up to middle entrance to Seaview cafe

    BED NEAR: Bathroom

    QUIET?: Mainly

BALCONY VIEW: Partly obstructed by overhang

    BALCONY SIZE: standard

    WIND A PROBLEM?: No

    SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS:  We didn't actually choose this cabin but had chosen a Guarantee superior veranda on deck 7. However we were allocated this AQ cabin, which would be deemed as an upgrade. I felt there were 3 red flags with the location but hoped Blu would make up for them. 1) under the Seaview cafe and danger of noise. In the event we heard noise from rolling of trolleys about 6.30am, not for long and not a big issue 2) interconnected cabin. This obviously depends on your neighbours and we were fortunate to have quiet ones 3) deep overhang above,  our cabin was actually under the dip in the overhang so not quite as oppressive as others. If you don't want sun on the balcony the overhang is a plus point. I wouldn't necessarily choose the cabin again because wouldn't take the risk of an interconnecting cabin and I like a sunny balcony but overall it wasn't too bad and the inclusion of Blu was a real plus

  8. Just off Millennium. We've been on her twice before and always got the dining package but had no interest this time. LPC just does not appeal - we used to love Qsine and would eat there at least twice on previous cruises. I'm constantly reading how people think LPC is a one and done and think replacing Qsine with it was a mistake.

Are you sure you get the Aqua Class amenities with Blu and spa thermal suite access?  If you do that is an upgrade from a Gty Verandah. They must have been sold out of Prime Verandah cabins and had no choice but to put you in an Aq cabin. We did a Aqua cabin on the Infinity before covid and wondered why this elevated level of cabin on M Class ships are only on the deck below the pool and OVC?

I'm assuming so. Our Setsail pass on the App shows us in Aqua Class. I'll be visiting Guest Relations pretty quickly if we don't 😂 And I agree about the location. It's the same on some smaller versions of RC ships, where the most expensive suites are under the pool deck

  10. I wonder whether folks would regard mine as an upgrade. Booked a guarantee Prime Veranda on Millennium on the basis that these cabins are on a deck under other cabins and without connected staterooms and normal view from the balcony. Only the second time we've ever booked a guarantee and thought with that category we couldn't go wrong. Just been allocated a cabin under the Seaview Cafe, connected to another and with an overhang which means no sun on the balcony (I prefer sun). HOWEVER it's an Aqua Class which would have cost significantly more and comes with Blu, which we've experienced before and really liked the food there. Just hoping the positives of the Aqua experience outweigh the cabin negatives.

Well my knowledge of Greek geography may be lacking but my point is the same.  There were excursions that clearly mentioned the cable car and some that did not.

They may not have mentioned it but the only way back to the ship after a visit to Oia or Fira is via the cable car or walking down.  Have visited many times on several different cruise lines and none of the excusions go directly back to the ship.

I have done Oia several times by getting the boat from the pier as described by Hlitner above. It's much cheaper than a ship excursion and doesn't involve a long bus journey from the excursion pier at Athinios.

Another option for those who've seen Oia before and/or can't face the cable car back is to pick up an excursion at the tender pier which takes you in the opposite direction to the caldera, with a stop to swim in the hot springs. The ships sometimes offer this as an excursion but will be much more expensive than doing it on your own. We used this company https://www.santorini-excursions.com/excursions

I can only relate the experience we had.  As @excitedofharpenden said, perhaps it was location dependent.

We were in the East China and South China Seas, the Arabian Sea, the Gulf of Aden (!), the Red Sea and the Mediterranean and it was 90+% fine.

We were on Onward in the Caribbean earlier this year and WiFi was the best we'd had on any ship on any cruiseline we've sailed with. We're Discoverer plus and agree that, apart from a pretty good discount on WiFi, the benefits didn't count for much to us.

When we boarded Anthem,  we went to the LA the first day and they said that was not right and she should have put at D+ too.  They reprinted her a card for her that said Diamond + and she got the amenities.

So the LA matched her to his status and she got the relevant onboard benefits despite it being her first sailing?

I asked this question of the OP but got no answer, since my son - who is Diamond - will be taking a cruise later this year with his wife who hasn't sailed before and it would help their pockets if she gets the 4 free drinks a day

His wife is a first time cruiser.  When they boarded, his card said "Diamond" her's did not.  They went up to the Diamond Lounge and spoke to the Loyalty Ambassador.  She updated my daughter-in-law's status to Diamond.

OP, specifically relating to this, once her status became Diamond onboard was she entitled to the 4 free drinks a day?

My son - who achieved D status by sailing with us - has just booked his first cruise with his wife who he recently married and will be applying to have her status matched

And to the naysayers his D status was a key factor in choosing RC, not least for his 4 free drinks a day and balcony discount. Let's welcome the new generation of cruisers instead of begrudging them 🙂

  15. No email for me. Although I did get an email a few days ago following submission of the online form to say my points were wrong and that the cruise I did in January had not been added. That email said my account had been updated. Guess what, still the same number of points!! Ironically my Celebrity account shows the correct number of points, even though my last cruise was with Azamara

Has anyone been to Falmouth recently? I’ve read that Margaritaville closed 😭 but are there any other restaurants or at least bars you can go to for a drink?

    Bumping this as also interested

Just a wee update - called back another two times, first time denied because we are not married.  Second time, it all went fine and now have a C&A number.  Have been told it will take 48 hours for Diamond status to show.

So, thank you all!  It seems to be do-able 🙂

Realise this is resurrecting a thread which is over a month old but hopefully you can answer my question. My son has Diamond status (earned by sailing with us when he was younger). He is now looking to book a cruise with his wife who has never cruised before. Am I right in thinking that you called C&A Uk and were able to add your significant other and they were given the same status i.e. would get the D benefits when onboard and not have to do a cruise first?

  18. Looking forward to this. One of our best cruises and most memorable cruises ever did was Panama Canal on Millie. We got really lucky being able to upgrade for a nominal fee to one of the deck 7 corner cabins with the huge balcony (pre bidding war days!). It was also memorable due to the ship colliding with the lock gates, necessitating a repair and some panic over whether we could proceed. Thankfully all the damage was above the water line.

We'll be back on her early next year so looking forward to hearing all about her

  19. Another here who loved Qsine. We always bought a 4 dinner package and did 2 nights in Qsine and one each in Tuscan and Sushi when we were on Millennium. Sailing on her again early next year but have no interest in Le Petit Chef (the current thread on LPC has confirmed this for us). Can take or leave Tuscan so we'll do a night or two a la carte in Sushi and luckily have 2 overnights so will eat off the ship
