  1. Well just got my early saver form email back and they said it was denied.said that I didn't book under early savers even thou I booked 7 months before cruise. But ended up calling and woman on phone was nice and said I love when I can save people money. So seems like doing it over phone is way to go

Just because you booked early don't mean you are booked early saver. Form is for ES rate only. By calling and the fact you are before final payment you get the match. Congrats!!!

  2. So you are in the perfect position to help me!!!!!!!

I guess I should have said we are going on both.

We want to go on Sunshine and was planning a summer trip. Due to the move, we are sailing over spring break. My DW works for a school so timing gets tough sometimes.

Our Dream trip will be a family trip in June.

  3. Your online status won't change until after you cruise. Your boarding documents should list you as Priority that is the indicator you have reached Platinum status.

This is how it worked for our DD this year!

Check your luggage tags and boarding pass for the Priority logo.

  4. I booked back in august for a cruise on magic on may 4. Total came out to 2215 $ and just checked for same type of room riggt next to my room and under the holiday sale total came out to 1970.54 $. I filled out one there forms. Whats the chances they adjust my room or give me onboard credits?

They should reduce your balance due.

Did you book direct with Carnival or with a TA? If you used a TA you will have to contact them to complete the form.

  5. I saw the cheers package on the Sunshine is cheaper than other Carnival ships. Its $42.95 a day. I'm booked on the Sunshine in January. Anyone know why its cheaper on the Sunshine? Are there not as many choices of liquors? Also can I buy the package now in case it goes up before I sail? I can't find anywhere online to purchase it.

Sent from my SPH-L710 using Forums mobile app

I think that price is from when it was in the Med. Now that its in US the price Im quite sure will go up to match other ships.

  6. Yes, 2 bottles per cabin when ordering via phone or online. However, there is a way to order more, but if I disclose the method here, they will probably change it too....:) If you are interested, I could email you with the details, hopefully, they haven't already changed it.

Share please. Email is bigdfromtn@gmail. Com

    Thanks!

  7. I seriously doubt she was banned for life for underage drinking. My thoughts are that she signed some sort of form to protect Carnival and its employees and they told her she "Could be Banned".

Now if Drugs were involved thats another story.

If it were me.... I would book them and see.

Edit: Was it a TA contacted about the list, or a PVP? I can see an TA not having access to the list but a PVP should.

  8. We were on the Shortened Elation sailing on 10/7 and got the caps. I was hoping to trade them for Tervis tumblers but no luck.

I guess they recently changed or ran out of caps. I wish they had a short list to choose from. Not every one wears caps or uses tote bags. Dont get me wrong, I understand its a gift. BUT if you could choose what would be most useful to you. I think it would be better.

  9. Elation has had Evolutions of fun, minus some of the water park aspects, I think. They have a scheduled drydock in september of next year, but it has not been announced what the updates will be.

I hope the Fantasy class ships get 2.0 features, I would take a Fantasy class ship with Alchemy and Guys over a Dream class without those features.

Conquest is leaving, to be replaced by Sunshine, which will then leave 6 months later and get replaced by Dream.

Elation does NOT have 2.0 upgrades.

  10. It does cost less because you are not paying sales tax on it on the 2nd day. But as far as I know they do charge for the entire length of the cruise.

I think I have read that you are only charged sales tax on the drinks you get from the bar while in your home port. NOT on the entire package.

    Edit: From Carnival FAQ.

Applicable state and local taxes will be charged to the guest folio when this program is used within US waters

Also....Guests must purchase the program for the entire cruise - this program is not offered on a per day basis

BUT also says... For ships sailing from Texas, due to state laws, CHEERS! cannot be purchased on embarkation day but will be available for purchase on the 2nd day of the cruise

We all know different people at Carnival intrepret things in different ways. I just wonder what they will do about the second day purchase of the program. Will they still charge for all days, and if so, will they apply the program to drinks purchased first day without the program. Seems like they would have to???

My PVP is sailing today on a 4 day and she is going to ask about second day purchase. Other wise I will find out how they handle it on the Elation on Saturday.

  11. Bon Voyage is programmed for a maximum of two alcoholic beverages. Last cruise I did accidentally skirt this rule and get 3 items. I ordered one bottle. Went back next day and ordered 2 more. Tried ordering 3 on anther cabin and it would not work. Had already ordered 2 and it would not let me add another.

As for sales tax. I also noticed if you have items delivered at Embarkation there is sales tax added. If you request it delivered that night or later there is no sales tax added. This is for NOLA at least.

  12. Just back from Progresso this week.

THANKS for this information. This tour is WELL worth the $35.00 fee. If nothing else just to avoid the constant distraction from the street vendors downtown.

We paid for this tour at the cruise terminal. Still had to ride into town and change busses. The return bus did not stop downtown so if anyone wants to buy something downtown... Do it before you go to the TechnoHotel.

    Thanks Again!!!

  13. Joe "Hollywood" Nagy has bowed to peer pressure and extended his contract on the Victory until October 19th. That is if he survives this cruise with 2800 female New Kids on the Block Fans. Have fun Funatics! And Milby Dumas is heading to the Ecstasy in August.

*** A note about this list: This list is compiled from reports and reviews of current cruisers and reports from the entertainers themselves. There is no guarantee of accuracy. An actual date usually means that the schedule has been confirmed by either the performer or someone inside Carnival. Schedules are subject to change. Also, this list is updated very regularly, so if it's not on the list, we probably don't know it.

    One correction....

On the elation right now is Darrin Isaacs. We are just off the Elation and he was there every night. He is new to Carnival and I think will develop into a good entertainer. He plays the piano and sings at a face pace with very few breaks between the songs. He take requests and even if he dont fully know the song will give it a great try.

Hey that Bartenders name is Theresa!! I remember her and she remembered DW and I last trip in December. She is loads of fun!

    Thanks Sarge!

OH, BTW. As to which way they dock... I figure it has to do with which side of the ship needs a coat of paint.

  15. Did you offer a tip with any of your requests?

If he already played "Brown Eyed Girl" (one of the most requested songs), he was right not to play it again... But I'd bet a $5 or $10 would have gotten it played again sometime that evening and your song selections would have been more of a priority...

Interesting point of view you have there...

I understand the fact he may have just played that song recently before we entered the bar. I also understand not knowing a song(also a popular song in the past on ships). But when we tried 3 times and others requested other songs and he seemingly just played what he had on HIS mind.... Well we just decided maybe the comedy club would be more inviting for us at that time.

I also understand tipping in advance but that is a rather backwards concept. I guess there is no need to beat that to death again(Its been done on other threads), BUT a tip is a gift for a service received. Not hoped for. And why tip him for a song he does not know?

  16. Just back from the Elation with Michael.

Not overly impressed. Michael is a good piano player and a good voice. He did not work to entertain as much as others have and do. We requested a few songs and he played none of them. One was Walking in Memphis, Said he did not know that one. DW requested Brown Eyed Girl, Said he had already played it and moved on. Dont exactly recall the other but was declined as well. All were songs we have heard multiple times in Carnival Piano bars.

  17. Does anyone know who is on the Elation right now?

Beau Tahana had to leave due to the loss of a family member.

Michael Geier, a newbie who just got off a short stint on the Triumph.

    Happy Cruising,

    Laura

    Thanks Laura.

Anyone care to comment on his abilities?

Edit, can anyone confirm this is same person?

    TIA, Don
