Question - our friends may need a handicapped room for the Dad who may be in a wheelchair for their cruise. Are these room bigger than the regular rooms? I cannot imagine a wheelchair in one of the regular sized rooms. Thanks! It would be on Allure if that matters.

That's what worries me - it's December 10 sailing.

Ugh. We have flights booked for the day before our sail, but of course that night is our sons Xmas pageant. And he is soooo upset to miss it.

We can take a flight out day of sailing, direct, from albany ny to FLL.

We would land at 12:10 (scheduled).

We have never done day of sail flight and worried about timing etc.

Thoughts? Doable? I know not ideal.

Help! I'm usually so on top of things but we are sailing next week on Liberty 4 night to Cozumel and I am so unprepared.

Haven't sailed Rccl in 2 years / anything new on ships? New on liberty?

This will be my sons first time in the kids program (4.5) and haven't even started looking into how that works.

do you know if we can check in our luggage at the pier after disembarking so we can explore FLL before our plane leaves?

i too am in this process ...

i gave them 3 dates and they told me i will hear within 45 days of the 1st day (which is in the beginning of july)

what do you guys think ... will i sail?

Christie and bluegirl, I found it irritating that these chairs were empty all week. One one day did I see a few people sitting there. It seems like such a waste of deck space!!!

Thats SUCH a great idea! I might do that, just because I know where the mask has been!

I would like to know how the jewelry store is on board, selection, variety, etc. Since I'm sailing 11/8 when we'll be in St. Martin on 11/11, a national holiday and all shops are closed.

You must be on my sailing! I was told by officials in St Martin that the port shops will be OPEN that day! There are about 12 shops and 12 stalls, so at least we'll be able to buy something! Also, I believe the French side is more open than the dutch side.

From what I was told, no midnight buffet, but they swtiched it for a pool deck party and buffet up there.

We are sailing her in a few months, and I cant wait!

Question, does anyone know how much the private or semi private time on the flow rider is?

And how early can you get on her usually?

And how early can you get off her in Labadee?

And are there any secrets to getting off in Labadee early because of the tenders?

Since we arrive in PR later in day does the tour get you into the forts. On website they close by 4:30 or 5 pm???

 

Do you think they will let him join in the younger group? I know that I would feel more comfortable as well.

As to PR, from what we were told we should be off the ship by 330 pm. Fort is open til 5, so you'd have 1 1/2 hrs to visit. Not nearly enough, but at leasts its better than nothing!

Also, on our last sailing with our DS, he was allowed to join the older group, as there were no one his age in his group. So it shouldnt be a problem.

On LOS when the kids are in AO do they have access to the arcade? I'm worried the 11 year old my run up the charges. I do plan on giving him a daily limit. What would be a fair number?

When DS went with us ('06) we gave him $50 for the 5 days, $10 a day. anything over that he had to spend pay himself in allowance money.

Anyone have thoughts on the pier coordinator at the pier? Im hoping to get there early enough to see if the coordinator has any upgrades. What time should I plan?

Where is the best place to lounge if you want sun all day?

Also, I bought some inexpensive plastic clothespins and used them to keep my towel in place. It was pretty windy some days.

Thanks Christie. Im getting nervous and thought about bringing a friend for zach, but that is such a hassle. Plus its very costly, as Id have to get them a different room. I figured withthe flowrider these ships might attract more families.

We are sailing on November 8, 2008 and was wondering if there are many kids this time of the year? We are pulling DS out of school for the week to cruise, and hoping that he will have other kids onboard. Thanks!

Its 5 credits to get to platinum. 10 for diamond and 24 for diamond plus. Thats credits, not cruises. You get 2 credits for sailing in a suite or above and on longer sailings.
