From what i can tell, aft rooms provide a MUCH bigger balcony.
-
Freedom deck plans shows 7712 an aft Junior Suite. Is this correct? Do you have the right room number? I'd take the JS over the regular balcony if this is true.
Youre correct on the 9342, hump D1.
Double check 7712 to make sure you have the right info.

Thats Maho beach. Nice to visit and good food there. People go there to see the planes come in. We prefer Orient Beach to spend the day on. Different part of the Island and much bigger.

Whats up with the penguins on Liberty?
Also, did anyone else see the new luggae requirements? Only one bag now allowed, $25 each way for additional bags. Southwest and American still allow 2. All others only one!
-
Pier Upgrades - anyone ever get one on Liberty? How do you go about trying? What time should we be there?

We really wanted to zip too. DS REALLY wants to go. DH says there is always is risk in everything. He reminded me that we all went swimming with the wild sting rays in grand cayman right after steve irwin died. So I guess we are going to zip!

I am ... Kyle is actually my name but Im definatley a woman! I love these boards for all of the great ideas and money saving tips.
I belong to this one and to the DIS boards about disney and have save SO much money when we cruise and when we go to disney.
And yes, I too will be enjoying a labadozee instead of paying for a mat!
Anyone else nervous about the zip line? DS wants to do the zip line on Labadee but Im not sure about it since the one colapsed and killed that NCL passenger.
-
blow up mats ... what a great idea! I think they charge $10 on Labadee for mats. Maybe we'll grab a bunch of them and use them at each port. Then give them away before we leave the beach.
I always go to the dollar store and get rain ponchos and keep them with us all the time too.

Is there a charge for the private flow rider lessons?

"Would you like someone to make those faces because of YOU?" And she said no. And I told her that's why I never let her do things like that.
Funny, because the first cruise we took DS on was in 2006. He was a bit older (12) than your DD, but understood very quckly about approved cruise behavior. Im a conservative mom, strict when needed. And his behavior was excellent on the cruise. Even he noticed other children his age, older and young, and was appauled at their behavior. I think that its the parents fault, and im sure the unacceptable behavior spans to their homes as well.

Thats so cool! Hopefully someday we'll get chosen!
Another question, can I bring soda onboard? I hate to waste $60 on soda when i can grab a case of diet coke for $5 before we get onboard!!
-
Ok ... so how does everyone get to go on pre-inaugurals?
-
I think thats a GREAT idea! I would love to see some pics of LOS!
-
I think we are just going to take our luggage too. On Enchantment we asked that we were first off the ship and we were. But I really like the idea of not having to pack the night before and leaving your luggage out.
-
So, they have changed the cruise director? it's not paul rutter anymore? (i think that was his name). when i went in sept. of 2007 we definately didn't have anyone named marc bing bong walker. :-)
We had Marc Walker when we sailed her in Nov 07. He was great.
-
That makes sense now. We usually bring 3 bags for the two of us, all on rollers, so we should be fine. plus our small carry on. Im just going to make DH carry it all! haha
-
Thanks Jill. This is the way to go I think! Not worrying about packing your luggage at night and keeping clothes out. Leaving when you want. Why isnt eveyone doing this! :)
-
christie, do you have to leave the ship at 7 am? Or can you leave a bit later if you self-debark?
-
Thanks dawn. we are still a bit away from diamond, we only just hit platinum! BUT, we would love to get there before they make any changes! I just wish we were close to a port who does short 3 and 4 day sailings! We're very limited in upstate NY.
-
The water taxi looks neat. We'll have to try it when we go down.
Has anyone else heard (or read like I did) the rumors that RCCL was changing their C and A status levels? I just hit platinum and am barreling to diamod, but hope they dont change it before I reach it!
-
We love to do the water taxi in Fll for the day.
Hey Dawn, whats the water taxi in FLL? We've been there twice now and havent done this. Would love to know more about it.
-
We arent smokers either and cant stand the smell. :(
Is there more smoking allowed on this ship as compared to others?
-
demodawn - so excited you got a great deal!
boxer mommy - thanks! We'll send him. Still makes me nervous however, as when we sailed on grandeur in december of 06 there were NO kids. Its was horrible for him. DS still had a nice time, but would have been much more fun with other kids. Maybe going out of NO isnt the best for families.

What a bummer!
About teenagers - Im nervous too. We are bringing DS (15) and want to make sure he will have someone to hang around with!
