I have had Haven suites a number of times. I have found the Haven restaurant to be a very nice perk. Especially Breakfast.
Some posted and they were correct. The breakfast and lunch menu in the haven restaurant is the same as Cagney's on smaller.

Keep in mind that everyone in reservation must purchase the UBP. If you have anyone under 21 they must purchase the soft drink package. i find it easier to purchase the package when i get onboard to see what brands they may have deleted or added.

I was on the Majesty of the Seas a few weeks ago. I would look at Liberty.

Since the Getaway is now officially a part of the fleet, let's start with her officers:
- Hotel Director – Sean Wurmhoeringer
- Asst. Hotel Director – Errol Nelson
- F&B Director – Martin Ivanov
- Executive Chef – Anil Chinthapattla
- Restaurant Manager – Deepak Gonsalves
- Bar Manager – Jose Contreras
- Executive HouseKeeper - Marites Sonza
- Guest Service Manager – Jocel Guzman
- Cruise Director – Julie Valeriote
I see that NCL really put the "A" team on Getaway, same gang as they had on Breakaway last year. This great since I will be on Getaway this June.

Patrick is a great guy !! Low key and very very efficient ! I am sure you will like him.
Had Patrick on the Sun last week. He is a great guy.

On the Breakaway next weekend, and traveling with a couple, one of whom doesn't each red meat. We'd like to all eat at Moderno, but she doesn't want to pay $20 cover for just the salad bar.
Would they agree to bring her a meal from the MDR, or at least a fish dish? Or would they allow a to go meal taken from buffet?
Has anyone done this? What are the options?
My DW does not eat red meat wither. When we dine at Moderno, she eats the salad, seafood and other things from the bar. They do serve bacon wrapped chicken breast and other chicken. They also serve lamb chops. However that could be considered meat. I highly doubt you would have the MDR menu in Moderno, but you can always give it a shot. Good Luck.

We did a 2 week back to back on the Pearl 3 years ago.
Before that we had done the maiden Transatlantic from Southampton to New York on the Epic.
Last year we did the Breakaway to Bermuda.
This June we are doing the Getaway.
Having said all that, I would go for the 11 nighter on the Pearl. Longer is better and the ports are more interesting. IMHO. :D

It's the SC - on the jewel - it's not Haven
The second bedroom has a door. It appears that there is a curtain between the master bedroom and the living area.
I looked at some pictures at cruisedeckplanDOTcom
-
Is there a door on the bedroom or is it open to the living area?
Is there any way to put three kids in the bedroom rather than 2 in the bedroom and one on the living room sofa? Maybe my sister would like us to take her son in the suite with us and would chip in ... Otherwise I may have to go for two cabins side by side ... Or even a balcony for us and inside across the hall for the kids ...
On another note - I see one of the ta's is offering OBC but it says it cannot be used for grats. I called the TA and they said that they had heard that NCL doesn't distinguish OBC that can't be used for grats and people have been able to do it .. Anyone with experience on this?
Thanks!!

If is a two bedroom suite in the Haven, ( I have one of those suites a few times) you can put two kids in the small bedroom with no major problem. What is the cabin number you are looking at?

Sorry but what is that supposed to mean? That everybody smuggles alcohol? We have never done so and will never do so.
OP, you have your answer - what you are asking about is not permitted. Whether or not you adhere to the rules is up to you.
.
No, not everyone tries to smuggle alcohol onboard. Just those who haven't got caught. Yet.

Oh yes, there will be plenty for him to do. The kids club is very good. They plan many activities for kids. My youngest son is currently 16. He has been cruising with us since 2006 and he has been on 22 cruises. He is not the sporty type, he is more a video game/computer geek. He will tell you that NCL is his favorite cruise line.
I hope this helps. Since this your first cruise, please feel free to ask any question you wish.

My DW and I have done a Christmas cruise with our two sons every year since 2006. Since my wife is a teacher, we have to look close at school schedules and sailing schedules. For us it is not a question IF we are doing a Christmas cruise, but which one.
I highly recommend it.

two rooms at $1000 each? where is that? i'm seeing much much higher on the 12/27 departure.
If you can handle it, go with the suite. SPOILER ALERT. One you've done a full NCL suite. You won't go back to a regular cabin.

Scott - what is the difference between butler and concierge service and regular room steward service?
thanks!
In addition to the replys, the Butler is great for catering to the kids, ie. DVD's, ice cream, pizza, and basically making the cruise special for kids. I say this assuming kids are respectful towards adults and know how to say "Thank You". We have done this numerous time and love it.

We have a SC booked for the Jewel next month. You get concierge and butler service. I think you will be happy with your selection. In theory you want the port side of the ship to have a view of the port while docked. The opposite for the starboard side. Of course you never really know how the ship will be docked.

Thank you for posting thr Freestyle. :D Do you think youwill be able to do the rest?:D
-
Do you know if the Pearl has the same menus?
I am 99.5% sure that the breakfast and lunch menus in the Haven are exactly the same as Cagney's in the rest of the fleet.
-
My DW read the menus before I posted them. The Haven breakfast and lunch menus are he same as Cagney's in the rest of the fleet. This is logical. Our issue is the fact NCL replaced ahi tuna with swordfish. As far as the dinner is concerned, the menu does not look too bad. The duck breast sounds good. I also will keep in mind that dining in the Haven is part of my suite perk. I also remember that the service in the Haven on the EPIC was over the top.
I plan to enjoy it.

Here is what I have for the Haven.

Not true. Was in a GV and our Butler delivered according to our preferences, including course by course.
We had different on a Baltic Cruise. HOWEVER, I personally like the Butler-concierge combo we get when we sail NCL.
-
You are not going to be served course by course. They are not "private" butlers but service several/many suites and are very busy. They will deliver and set up your meal and then leave. Return later to clean up.
You are absolutely correct.

Depends on the ship. On the Star, reserved seating was for GV and DOS only, he was there to greet everyone, but "special" seating was for those suites only.
We were on the Star a week ago. We were in a family suite and were taken to the reserved seats for the shows.
-
The concierge will usually be standing outside the theatre and will escort suite to a reserved seating section for the shows.

We just got off the NCL Star Saturday Dec 30. We went to Maya Chan for our third time and it was just a good as ever. The beach is wonderful. The food and drink was great. They always seem to go out of their way to make you happy. We have another cruise booked during this Mardi Gras.
When we dock in Costa Maya, we are going straight to Maya Chan.
Would you Dawn?

My 16 year old has been on 22 cruises with us. He always finds fun things to do on all NCL ships. You should be fine.
