  1. I also love Freedom, but for our upcoming family cruise, we are sailing Vista. I think my adult kids will enjoy the ropes course & sky cycle. I really would have preferred they didn't take Breeze away from Galveston.

Loved the Breeze . Sailed on three times . Agree that the Vista may be a better choice for adult kids

  2. My first cruise was on the Carnival Holiday in 1992 and there is so much more that the ships offer now. One of my favorite changes is the numerous food options. Years ago it was MDR, Lido, or room service. Love all the options now!

Yes and back then . They had tablecloths. good service . nice shows with live bands and a bunch of nice stuff. It is still a value but not the same

  3. Depends. Do you want to pay Carnival for items that are free? If so, and you want to gain an extra 15 minutes than it is worth it. For me, I think people give Carnival enough money, and paying for free items is just silly.

How did you calculate saving 15 minutes ?

  4. We are on the 2/2/19 sailing :). We’ve been to Nassau a few times. Last time we enjoyed Tiki Bikini Hut, but now that it is more expensive, are thinking of staying on the boat, and enjoying the sun and our drink package :)

That is what we did on our last visit. Nice spot but way over priced. If we ever stop at Nassau again we will stay on the ship Nassau Sucks

  5. Personally, we have Zero interest in any mainstream cruise line, especially their newer mega ships We much prefer smaller ships of about 1,000 pax with better meals, no casinos, no kids, no photogs, no art shows and port lectures that actually focus on the port instead of the cruise line's shopping partners. Not interested in ice rinks, bumper cars, wave riders, etc.

BTW - on the smaller ships, you may find cabin sizes are actually larger than the equivalent cabins on a mega ship.

The only problem with the ship you are talking about come with one small problem ! They come with a BIG price Tag

  6. Yummmmmmm This was on the Conquest last year

We were on the Conquest last Nov and will be on her again in Feb. 2019. May have to give the Shack a try. But I doubt it will be any better than some of the seafood places on CAPE COD especially the the fish that I catch

  7. Just off the Horizon and that Seafood Shack;s menu just said "Lobster Roll" - it didn't specify Connecticut or Maine. Do you just have to ask? I ordered one and got the Maine, thinking that was all they had. I would of much more preferred the one with drawn butter.

The " 99 " a local restaurant Chain has Lobster Rolls on the Summer Menu and advertise both Maine and Connecticut versions

  8. And they are some of the best onions too! :D

It's been ages ago, but I passed through there once, nothing but onion fields as far as the eye could see!

Someone told me that the best Vidalia onions come from Texas

I just shook my head and walked away. You can't make these things up

  9. we went memorial day week from NYC last year and we had great weather. Water is a bit brisk but we are from New England so we are used to cold ocean temps. if you can handle the waters off of the coast of maine, then bermuda this time of year is wonderful!

Keep in mind the the water temperature in early June is below 60 degrees. While the temps a few miles inland may be 75 to 80 on the water may be in the low to mid 60's.

We have done a few early season Bermuda cruises and not had a problem. Bring a wind breaker and a light hoodie or long sleeve shirt and you will be fine after the first day.

  10. Of course, i didnt think as it was just a general question about cruising as my wife adn I are starting to question its value. Its Celebrity Silhouette, 13 nights, consiege class. As I say, it was more a general question about value with cruising

Al I can add is that we are seasoned cruisers on several cruise lines and last year we did a 9 day on the Silhouette our first cruise on Celebrity and loved it

  11. My DH did go on a fishing excursion with Dorothy Charters while we were in Aruba on April 30th. He had a great time and caught wahoo. The owner of the charter picked him up right outside of the port entrance, which was very convenient. He also dropped him off after the excursion. He said he would recommend Dorothy Charters.

Thanks for the info. Will consider them for our January Cruise
