  1. How about it? Did you or your children go on the ropes course? How difficult is it? My ten year old grandson loves ropes courses but I am sure it will be much more windy than he is used to.

I'm a 46 year old woman. My 71 year old Dad & I did the ropes course on sunshine in February. It wasn't too difficult. There were all ages of folks participation. We did the course on a port day, so wind wasn't an issue.

  2. Thank you everyone for your replies and for the awesome tip to try youtube. never would have thought of that one. I'll be on the Jewel in January so I'll be sure to take notes since the two ships seem to be fairly similar. Did anyone happen to know when she was last refurbished or when her next dry dock is scheduled? I tend to try to avoid the last sailing before or the first after dry dock. Never know when things aren't going to go according to schedule. LOL

  3. So it seems that the Jade will be coming to Houston next year. Anyone have any recent info or pics from the Jade? I know it has been overseas for the last several years, so I don't need port info, just ship in general. Also, does any one know when it was last in drydock?

  4. we had a great time on our Sunshine cruise, however, it was NOT our favorite ship. Nothing major, but all the public spaces seemed way too small, the flow of the ship isn't great and the music everywhere was way too LOUD! Did really enjoy the serenity deck! A cruise is what you make it.

  5. Or not. Just checked the Sunshine's cams and one is not working and the other one says it was last updated July 3, 2014.

update: many of them give the 7/3 date. Maybe that's just when the links where posted?

I did the exact same thing. then I realized that July 3, 2014 wasn't even here yet and the format was 7th March, 2014

  6. No, that's not what they were asking about. They were asking about the actual burlesque shows that are advertised as burlesque shows, held in the aft lounge at midnight, adults only, usually on the same night as the magic show. No nudity, but some teasing, some comedy, some magic. An entertaining show; a bit old-school. Has frequently been on the Triumph for years, and is still there on many of their sailings (probably not all); and maybe also the Magic. Not sure about any other ship. The show is titled "A Kiss Goodnight", and is always very well attended.

For those of you who haven't been on a cruise with the burlesque show, that doesn't mean they don't exist and have never existed on Carnival. And once again, the OP is not talking about skimpy outfits on the big stage. I know you're confused, but take it from me & many others who have posted on this thread (and we for some reason are being ignored), a burlesque show has existed and still exists on at least 1 or 2 Carnival ships.

Yep, that's a fact. I've seen "A kiss goodnight" twice on Triumph. Once from New Orleans & once from Galvestion. It is actually a really good show, worth staying up till midnight for.

  7. Agreed with the OP.

Our last cruise we took in summer of 2012. I would have loved to have sailed out of Galveston on the Magic as it's in our home state and closer. However it was cost prohibitive.

We ended up doing the exact same 7 day itinerary out of New Orleans on the Carnival Conquest for about $1200 cheaper for my family of 4. We ended up driving to NO a day early

and staying in a hotel and it still saved hundreds.

We also end up sailing from New Orleans about half the time because of the price difference. I would always prefer to sail from Galveston since it's only a 4 hour drive, but sometimes I just can't justify the cost.

  8. Is Royal really cheaper than Carnival out of Galveston? If so, you should definitely give them a try! I've been reading about the upgrades to the Navigator of the Seas and they sound fantastic. What's holding you back? :)

Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Nope, on the whole Royal is more expensive. Occasionally I find a cheaper deal on Royal, but not often.

  9. I wish they did something like Disney's Photo pass + where you can pay a set fee and get a disc of the photos.

Has anyone had any luck with uses a personal scanner to scan pics once home for a dupe copy of pic??

They scan fine. If you contact carnival customer service they will email you a copy right release. I use that and have copies made at WalGreens or WalMart

  10. Hi, I'm taking my step-daughter on a cruise in August on the Triumph. She will be 12 at the time and will be moving up to circle c. she has cruised twice before, but was 8 and 10 on previous cruises so I was able to sign her in and out of kids club. I understand that Circle C doesn't work that way. could anyone fill me in on the details. I'm not thrilled about the idea of her being free to come and go, but i dont' want her to miss out on the fun either. She is a good kid and I'm not concerned about her misbehaving, but we will be on a ship with thousands of people I don't know and I'm pretty over protective. Any tips and feedback would be appreciated.

  11. Thanks for all the input. I'll have to take these things into consideration. I had my ships confused, I was thinking this was the Ecstacy. I've sailed both Ecstacy & Elation. I really enjoyed both. The Elation was the one that my step-daughter sailed her first cruise on. Now I'm just wondering if she would rather sail on a different ship. Plus the Triumph is only a 4 hour drive for us and the Elation is 8 which means an extra day off work and a hotel stay. Decisions.. Decisions..

  12. Hey, you guys. I'm currently booked on the Triumph in August 2014. Just looking at cruise prices during the current sale and I can book Elation for the same week for $500 less. Here are my questions.. Can anyone tell me when the Elation was last drydocked? Any current photos of the pool area or camp carnival. Does it have the water works or anything like that? My step daughter will be 12. Trying to decide if this would be an okay cruise for her or if we should stick with what we have booked already. I've sailed the Elation before, but it was several years ago.
